When I 1 st step in I thought is a coin laundry coz someone in the yelp page post a coin laundry picture. But this is actually wash and fold service laundromat. So I was like why not give out a try since I don't want to drive anymore. Turn out this is a good place. Nice lady and fold my clothes super nice :D read more

I began taking my laundry to Wash and Shop eight months ago. My items return refresh, pressed, organized and neatly packed in my laundry bag. It is very easy due to the phenomenal organization to put my items immediately away and leave my space uncluttered. Best my dresses maintain their colors and look as lovely as when I purchased them. The owner, Ms. Mary is courteous and professional. She accepts my Sensitive skin detergent and follows its directions. Wash and Shop is a community asset. I am delighted to have discovered it! read more

Filthy facility!!! To much ownership turnover. The place is a total dump. No numbers printed anywhere for support. It's just a money pit at this point. They charge an additional .50 cents for hot water and the water they provide is luke warm at best! I read more

Wash & Shop Laundromat - Laundromat Near Me - Berkeley, California

Good customer service, but she ruined most of my white tops by mixing all kinds of clothes together , also did not use bleach on the whites and then you can tell she mixed my laundry and another person's laundry because im missing a few socks and a couple of random socks popped up. first time trying out a wash and fold service and i wont be back here. read more

This wash and fold ruined all my clothes and 'lost' my favorite t-shirt!!!! I will never return.

Sometimes there are places you miss out on trying because you avoid it for its low rating, but I encourage you to try it & be open. I took a chance with this place and believe me I read the reviews and was skeptical but I've gotten my comforter dry cleaned twice here & I've had positive experiences both times. I love how I get it wrapped in paper when I pick it up. It feels like a Christmas present! It's a bit pricey but they get it to you on time same day just as long as you get it in by noon. And it's not like you wash your sheets everyday. I think it's worth the splurge. I'm ecstatic it's right by my place. Parking down Dwight is easier to find than on Sacramento. Just don't tell my boyfriend because he thinks I take it to the laundromat and do it myself. read more

This tiny place did a lovely job, same day service, beautifully washed and folded, on time.

Review based on 1 use of about 8 loads of laundry for wash and fold. The dumb power went out and PG&E didn't fix it for days, so I zorched down here to get the laundry done. I did a price comparison with 2 or 3 places on Solano and found this place the cheapest. Clothes came out fine. Parking not too bad out front during the day. read more

My wife and have been coming here every other week for a few years now since we do not have an in-unit washer/dryer. We typically have clothes that cannot be dried, clothes that need low heat only, and sometimes clothes that need to be separated by color. Wash & Shop has always accommodated our requests and been very timely. We typically drop off our clothes on Saturday mornings between 9 and 10am, and our clothes are ready between 4 and 5:30pm that day. Only a couple of times have their pickup times been off, but they called plenty of time in advance to let us know. The staff is also very friendly, and we have enjoyed getting to know them over the years. read more

do not get your clothes washed here!!! they will not return all of your clothes to you and then claim they never received it. this place is 100% a scam!!!! read more

This place was awesome. Just like April, below me, this whole wash and fold is such a new concept! I came here on my birthday....because...well too lazy to do my own laundry, plus having tons of guests over, I was freaking out that I had no more clothes. (Yes, I know, I shouldnt have procrastinated, and should have done them later...but old habits from college are hard to break...PLUS laundry here in the bay is reputed to be really expensive, so I was figuring that there'd be time at some point to run my laundry back @ Davis while visiting)... alas, no such thing occurred and "insert freaking out here over having too much laundry". After having looked around online at MANY places for either (a) doing my own laundry, or (b) getting it done--who would have thought that could happen? I realized it was too late for many places to accept laundry. Luckily, this place was still open, and I gave them a ring-a-ling @ around 1130. The man answering the phone was like: Ya, bring it in before noon and it will be ready for pickup by 4--or if I brought it in later, then well it would be done by Saturday... So...in a mad rush, I grabbed my clothes and dropped them off at the place at 1150. TBH, the place is a bit of a hole in the wall. You wouldn't recognize it for what it really is unless you were looking for it. However, it has 2 10 minute spots in front of it, as well as 2-24 minute spots. It's going in one direction with a median in the middle--so don't end up on the wrong side of the street if you got tonzzz of laundry (*cough* like me *cough*). BUT WOW! $40 bux for 40 lbz of laundry. Yay (Okay ya you're prolly thinking...wow this girl is ridiculous...it just takes me awhile, jeez) Ahahah! And it's nice, because they use unscented laundry detergent! Everything comes back FOLDED SO PERFECTLY and well packaged! GREAT GREAT SERVICE!!! GREAT NICE PEOPLE! PERFECT END RESULT LAUNDRY!!! w00h00^_^~ so worth it! and so sould do it again! ahahahhaha read more

Ok, pros: it was cheap. Almost 1 buck a pound. They returned everything the same day. However... I took 70 pounds of clothes here today in the dirty laundry hampers I sort my clothes into, my dirty laundry was directly in it. The lady who assisted me was friendly, she weighted the clothes with the metal pieces from the hampers. No big deal, probably paid for an extra pound or two. They returned the clothes folded inside the bags, with no protection between the clean clothes and the dirty hamper. The biggest problem was that socks and underwear were not folded, at all. All socks and clothes that were inside out were returned inside out. What's the point? Wool sweaters are burnt. Overly hot dryer for sure. If I were to send them 2 more times they'd fall apart. Whether you hate folding clothes or want to save your time (in my case, both!), and/want your clothes to last, don't take your laundry here! You are only gonna have to spend more time correcting the job you paid for, but wasn't done well. Also, there was parking nearby, but it wasn't "available". I had to go around the block a couple of times. read more

It's ok I go here do my laundry and go home no problem so far majority of the machines work and I have no problem with it's

What I really like about this place is the laundry powder they use is unscented. So my sheets and towels don't come out perfumey. Yes, having others do your laundry costs more than doing it at home but I believe they are comparable to other such wash and fold establishments. I wash and hang all my clothes to dry on a line(saves energy and your clothes last waayyyyyy longer) but for sheets and towels I bring them here for the convenience, time saving, treating myself. Also, because I don't have a linen closet so I have clean sheets on my bed and then the dirty ones are at the Wash and Shop until I pick them up, nice and clean and neatly folded! (I am short so it is tough to fold those big sheets by myself!) Plus the proprieters are very nice. I stopped going here because they were doing such a poor job of folding my laundry. The cloth napkins came out wrinkly and it just looked as if they were rushing through the job. read more

Terrible customer service I would not recommend going to the wash House for any reason let alone to deal with bad customer service

Here's the thing, I can't give this place any lower than 3 stars because the woman was so damn sweet, but I don't have any socks left! I sent probably 12 pairs of socks there last time and only got 3 socks, back. Not 3 pairs, 3 socks. And I ended up with other random people's socks and a pair of men's underwear. I would never want to write a bad review, but for the price and the replacement of all of my socks, I don't think it's worth it. read more

I've taken clothes here on and off for 4 years. It's OK I guess. I've been to much nicer wash & folds before so I am not excited about the general concept of a wash & fold. PROS - They are fast. - They use unscented powder. - Parking right in front is easy. They get 1 of their 3 stars just for easy parking. - I am too lazy to switch to another wash & fold place. CONS - Sometimes my clothes aren't ready when they say they will be, and I have to come back the next day. - It's never clear what their rates are. I feel like they charge me based on how I look that day. Sometimes they have charged me by bulk weight. Other times they have separated out the types of laundry and charged me different amounts for different types of clothes. As a result sometimes it is cheap and sometimes it is expensive. - They are sketchy. I started getting fire inspection bills and notices sent to my home address for their shop. I guess they gave the City of Berkeley some random customer's address (me) instead of their own to try to get out of paying the bills. - Sometimes my clothes go missing, or I find other people's clothes in my basket. ---- After writing this review, I might get off my lazy butt and find a better place... read more

This place has always been great to me. The lady who always seems to be there when I am is very nice, even if she always does seem to be in a rush. I usually just come in here to do wash & press shirts and the occasional dry cleaning, but sometimes I drop off a load of laundry here too. I recommend this place. read more

Exactly $11 for two loads of laundry. I'm trying to evaluate the pros and cons of this. To do it myself at home I would be paying roughly $6. When I do it here I can drop it off on my way to work, pick it up on my way home, it smells delightful, it's thoroughly dry (unlike the times I dry it myself and it comes out sopping wet b/c my landlord won't fix the damn dryer) and it's packaged so nicely in a brown paper parcel! I never thought of myself as being the person who takes their laundry in to be done by others, but I think I'm a convert. My only complaint is that they dried the clothes a little too much, they seemed a tad smaller due to the heat, but were back to normal after a couple wears. All and all, definitely worth it. Maybe not every time, but the convenience is enough to be able to do it every other month. Nice to know we have one of these in our neighborhood. read more

I've been going to different cleaners in North Oakland and Berkeley for 15 years. This place is the best and the woman who usually is behind the counter is very friendly and helpful. There's a new place that just opened in the Temescal, across from Walgreens and I was hopeful they would do good work because they're a lot closer to home but they charge $5 to dryclean and/or wash pants, Wash and Shop charges $3.80, but the worst part is they don't do nearly as good a job as Wash and Shop. So I have to go a little further for my dry cleaning to be done right and at an affordable price, well worth it! read more

I really like taking my clothes here to be washed, definitely beats doing it myself and the time i save is so worth it. I'd usually spend 3 hours on laundry myself, here its more like 20 mins from hamper to closet. They are the cheapest ones i've found too and they do a good job! read more

Elissa's right--it's quite a bit of money for your clothes to be washed and dried (a little shrunken on my end too). But when you're without a car and on-site laundry like me, it's a little piece of heaven on Sacramento Street. The owners are adorable and friendly, maybe to disguise that what they charge for washing your clothes is so darn expensive. I paid $18 for two loads of laundry at 25lbs. with my laundry basket included in the weighing process. Of course the convenience was great and I have to keep going here until I buy a car and can find a laundromat. Crazy amount of money, I know, but it was nice to drop it off and pick it up the next day. Creeps me out that someone else is looking at my underwear, but yeah, I got over that quickly as I had no choice. read more

This place looked like a dump from the inside out I probably should have known better however, I was pressed for time. I gave my clothing with instructions not to dry my medical scrubs. I returned and this lovely lady shuffled all my scrubs damp into the same dirty laundry plastic bag I gave her. I had two bugs on my scrub tops utterly and I am utterly disgusted. I also have random people under wears and socks in my bag. I come from Brooklyn NY and if they do a better job then you at half the price a pound then you need to rethink your job. read more

I've been taking my laundry here for about five years. They've done a great job -- I've never had any articles lost or damaged. I also bring my dry cleaning, which they send out somewhere (about the same price as other dry cleaners in the area). They have my laundry ready at the agreed-upon time (usually same day if you get it there in the morning). It IS expensive, but I don't have a great alternative (no time for laundromats, and no washer/dryer at home). read more

Heads-up kids... This is NOT a self-serve coin-op laundromat! For $14.00, I cabbed it there from a hotel 2 mil away (yeah, $$$) and discovered that this is a drop off laundry . I walked down Sacramento to another coin-op near Ashby Ave. that was a TRIP, literally and figuratively! read more

Anyone have comments about Wash & Shop's dry cleaning and alteration services?? It seems very convenient, but I don't want to sacrifice quality for convenience. I'm new to Sacramento Street and any comments would be greatly appreciated. read more

Really nice staff. But THEY NOW USE SCENTED DETERGENT, unless you bring your own. Which means the machines have leftover perfumes in them. For us perfume-allergic folks, that doesn't work. Too bad. (Anyone know of ANY unscented laundry service in the East Bay, please???) read more
