Harry cleaned five white roller shades with mesh fabric that hung in our kitchen for over 25 years. They were filthy and he was upfront in telling us that given their age and use it might not be possible to thoroughly clean. He is a miracle worker and they look brand new. Instead of having him clean at our house, we decided to drop them off on Monday and he reinstalled them on Thursday. Also, his price was very reasonable. Highly recommend! read more

I live in San Pablo and had to dry my clothes late at night, around 12am/1am, and none of the laundromats in the area were open that late. Also, it was gonna be a little sketch around that time anyways. We tried calling to make sure they were open because it was getting really late and we didn't want to drive that far if it was going to be closed. Thankfully, it was open! The laundromat was quite clean and there were plenty of washers and dryers, some of which look quite new. The washers take Apple Pay and quarters, which is very convenient. They also have a change dispenser too if you needed quarters. The dryers are very big, so I guess that's why they take 25cents for 4minutes. It's a little pricey than what I usually pay for back in San Pablo though. Overall, this is a good place to wash and dry your clothes late at night and it's not too sketchy. read more

So my wife and I had a crazy thing happen. We had an ant infestation in one of our back bedrooms. Not only were they all over the walls and ceiling, but they got into our brand new hunter Douglas blinds. I reached out to Harry, the owner of Solano cleaning center told him my problem, and he said he could help. Boy, did he. The blinds came out brand new looking and the ants were completely gone. This is my first time to this wash house and, it's well kept not many out of service washers but, I spent 50$ because the dryers were not drying my cloths I literally had to throw 4 of my 6 loads back in to dry and, my loads were small I washed 6 loads and dried 10 this tells you I broke my loads down. If I could sum this place up in one word it would be dysfunctional. I didn't see any recent reviews on Yelp and figured I'd give it a shot. Where else does one go after 10pm to dry clothes? As soon as you step in the door I saw a vending machine with little to no inventory and then I start seeing signs that say broken in quite a few of the dryers. I found one that I assume is working and am immediately greeted to a large standing puddle of water. Did a pipe burst? Is this water clean or dirty? (Lol) That aside, I strongly recommend you wait in your car until your cycle is done. Quarters don't seem to buy you a lot of time on the dryers either. Would I come back and use the equipment again? Update: I still come here only a few times a year. But after reading my negative review from 7 years ago, I realize that it's time for an update. This place isn't sticky. I went there a month ago, and the only thing that was sticky was me. I do wish that they had a wee sink for people to wash 4x concentrated detergent off of their hands if they spill some 4x concentrated detergent on their hands, as I am quite capable of doing. But, there was nothing sticky. More importantly, everything worked. There were two dryers that were clearly labeled that they needed repair, and that the repair was scheduled and coming soon. I lost $0.00 there to faulty machines. And, as always, stuff got very cleaned - squeaky cleaned. Thanks, Solano Cleaning Center. Oh, and the people watching is still an A+. read more

I've been to this laundromat a few times, the location is awesome (right next to a cute coffee shop and frozen yogurt place) but the last two times I've been here, the facility has been absolutely trashed. The fact that the visible parts of this business are wrecked and filthy doesn't give me any confidence that they clean or maintain their equipment... especially since a top loader has been broken with dry detergent in it for over a month. Done with this place. Right now, I'm watching a load of laundry spin around with NO WATER. This is after (another) failed attempt to use the card/phone pay system, which was installed at least a year ago but I've only gotten to work once out of probably 25 visits here. It's open all hours, which is usually the only reason I come here. But after this visit, and all the others where there were homeless people making a mess, machines not working, garbage bins overflowing (always!), coin dispensers empty....I'm finally done. This place is extremely dirty. Trash, clothes, liquids, all over the floor. It has a stench in it constantly. The vending machine that is supposed to have detergent is regularly empty. And then you have this woman who "works there" that is speaking on her phone loudly non stop that goes around with a broom while on her phone and runs into you with the broom because she isn't paying attention. I rarely use a laundromat, Spring cleaning; bedding, comforters brought me to this location. At first it seemed clean, floor, counter. I needed three of the large capacity front loader. To my dismay only two were working! Then I noticed "Out of Order" signs on 11 other washers! Plus both coin changer machines were not functioning . Frustrating! I had filled two washers with the bedding before I realized the out of order machine and non functioning coin changer! Most of the machines are old, corrosion, yuck! There's no indication of how long the dryers run until you insert quarters. One other complaint, one of the large washers only accepted a credit card, the other required quarters. I just love this cleaning center! I am new to this neighborhood, and I was looking for a spot that offers wash-n-fold service. Well I found it here, and I couldn't be more pleased. The owner and staff are wonderful--they are super welcoming and attentive. I often bring in my laundry in the morning, and it is ready for pick-up later the same day. The facility is nice, and the machines are new and clean. The convenience of 24-hour access is a plus, and the wash-n-fold service has great hours too. I have been going here for awhile now. The washers seem to work pretty well, but the place is seriously neglected and not clean - including the machines. The trash is often overflowing, and if you need help at the desk, there is often no one there. This is a also a wash and fold facility - I would personally not bring my clothing here for that service - clothing is often left unmonitored, just sitting out and making it easy to steal. A window to the street has been broken for two years. Management seems to be sloppy and uncaring. The machines for detergent are often empty. It's too bad - this is in a good area with coffee shops nearby. read more

I'm so happy I found this place! I've been trying out different laundromats around Berkeley and they all have some problem(s) or another - this one is for sure the best one I've been to. Pros - 1. Machines actually work, I didn't see any 'out of order' signs. 2. Very clean 3. Reasonably priced, and different size options (as of 5/25/21 small/regular was $3, medium was $5.25 and the largest washer $7.25) 4. Multiple attendants, who are really friendly and helpful! I appreciated this the most, because I ran outta cash after I had already loaded a large washer, I was just 0.50 short so I asked an attendant where I can get cash nearby and she just handed me $1 in quarters. So nice of her. 5. Good quality machines, my clothes came out a lot cleaner/smelling fresh compared to the other laundromats. Cons - The only one I can think of is that there aren't any card readers (at certain places, it was nice not having to worry about getting quarters and I could just swipe on each machine) but that's not a big deal since everything else is so great :) read more

I have been a regular here for almost 20 years -- they do an excellent job with the standard dry cleaning and handle special jobs such as the taking in my daughter's dress for a wedding party she was recently in -- did it very well and very quickly -- and we needed both. I recently bought a sample wedding dress that had gotten a lot of use. It was pretty grimey around the inside of the bodice, the zipper and the train from all the handling it had received. I was hopeful the grunge would come out, and if worst came to worst I'd have it altered differently to cut that area of fabric out of the dress. Anyway, I had the dress dry cleaned at Solano Cleaning Center and it came back spotless. Better than I had even hoped. I'm surprised and pleased!!! read more

I mostly use the dry cleaning service here. Harry is amazing at getting stains out. He is more amazing at getting stains out than I am at putting them in. The prices are reasonable and he and his register people are also friendly and happy to help. I have been going for 15 years. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed how trashed out this place has become. (Temporary help last year had different standards.) Teeming trash cans, garbage on the floor, dryers that don't dry well (maybe because the lint isn't removed very often?), broken chairs, and even a vending machine that gets barely attended to. The owner seems tired. I don't think this is any longer his calling, and he probably won't even reply to this (or other less-than-4-star-reviews) and comment, promising to do better. There have been a few times during my residence in Albany when doing laundry outside the home was necessary. Occasionally the washer and dryer break down or there's a bulk load that's better done commercially. During those times, a trip down Solano leads you to either The Laundromat or my second choice, the Solano Cleaning Center. It safe, maybe a little frazzled at the edges, and with plenty of available machines and room to hang out. Laundry service is also available. And when the change machines are working, there's no problem with getting quarters for the wash, nearby parking meters, or homeless donations. read more

I'm actually not going to speak to the laundromat facilties. I think Jane D's review says it all-- not the worst, by far, but not the best either. I'm going to write about their laundry service. First you need to know that I have a seriously gimpy hip and back, and I'm completely screwed until my surgery in June. Then you need to know that our washer and dryer combo are downstairs in the in-law unit currently occupied by our landlords. Stairs and I are not seeing eye to eye at present since I like to avoid excruciating pain. Our landlords are extremely cool, nice people, but you can only bug them so much, and we're a family of four. Seriously, three boys (one big, two little) generate more laundry than the entirety of Division 1 football. I have on average a load a day to do, limited stair ability compounded with assloads of pain, and a husband who teaches MIDDLE SCHOOLERS all damn day-- how can you ask a man like that to do laundry when he gets home? So I made my decision: I was going to be all cool and Mary Tyler Moore and send my laundry out! HELL yes! I checked this place out, and they charge only $1.35 a pound to do a basic wash and fold. Sounded like a dream come true. OK-- here's the catch-- we had four baskets of laundry (just over a week's worth-- told you it was heinous) which turned out to be FIFTY-FIVE pounds. Do your math, bitches-- it cost me $75 to do the laundry. Oh, HELL no. The people who work there are a little insane, but friendly and cool and efficient-- they actually took a cart out to my car and brought the laundry in for me, since I was all limpy 'n' shit. The clothes were clean and folded and shrink-wrapped when we picked them up. They did a good job, but $75??? Two lessons: Laundry weighs more than you think; and don't have kids, or if you do, raise them naked. I should probably give them more stars, but I'm still reeling from the $75, which I guess is technically my fault for having no idea how much laundry weighs, but seems to be excessive. $1.35 a pound *sounded* like a good deal . . . . . I can not say enough how much I love this place!! I used to come here and do laundry in person, the staff is always nice, the machines work great, and the location is unbeatable, but then things got next level impressive when I found out not only do they have a laundry drop off service where they'll do your laundry for you they also have a pick up and delivery service for your laundry!! This has changed my life for the better immensely, I no longer have to set aside time on the weekends to lug my laundry around and wait for my laundry to be done, now Harry (who I think might also be the owner and is seriously the nicest gentleman) just comes and picks up my laundry from home or work and then brings it back to me cleaned and folded within a day!! The best part is it's honestly not that much more costly then when I would come in and do it myself. Thank you Harry and everyone els at Solano Cleaning Center for being spectacular, I have no idea how I've been managing for so long without you, please keep doing what you're doing!! read more

Overpriced and too much of the equipment is broken or doesn't work. On more than a few occasions I've run laundry through something only to find that the washer or dryer wasn't working. (Clothes still wet and not dry after running through dryer with no heat!) Plus I had the displeasure of running into some of the people who run the place. They were very rude, and even downright smarmy. It was then that I decided to take my business elsewhere when possible. (Seriously, if I hadn't met them I'd probably give them at least one more star.) The only reason to go there? They're open 24 hours. And they have a centerfuge. If you absolutely have to do laundry after hours, then go there. Otherwise avoid avoid avoid. And those five star reviews? They're either shills or people on very hard drugs. There is simply NO WAY anyone could ever give that dump five stars! read more

I didn't actually wash my clothes here so the stars are based on my initial impression. +the washing machines take credit cards +they have an extracter (cuts down on drying time) +they have several 35lb machines +the guy that works there is nice -it was filthy, dirt piles on the floor abandon detergent packages -the dryers only take coins -the folding tables were small. -the machines look old and dirty I chose not to wash my clothes here because of how dirty everything looked. Recently I stopped by there to use their Hugh centrifuge for drying some large boat lines I washed there as well and ran into Harry. He was proud of his new machines - around $200,000 worth of new machines and other upgrades to the property. This is a family owned business and they are actually well known for being able to do difficult things like getting smoke damaged large scale items like theater curtains done as well as doing the Landry for clients like REI (their rental sleeping bags and other gear). We moved to a new apartment and inherited massive Hunter Douglas curtains. I like to tinker with mechanical things but boy, these curtains are complicated... Even finding and replacing the right pins and holding brackets took a long time. Harry cleaned and adjusted the curtains and I was impressed. He knows his stuff.. It took a bit longer than I expected, but at the end the curtains look great and we couldn't have done it without him. If you need to clean Hunter Douglas drapes Harry is your man. read more
