    Over charging

I like coming to this laundromat, I've been to many in Berkeley and Oakland but this one washes my clothes well enough. My only problem is that I use my debit to wash, (you know to avoid having to go to a bank and withdraw cash) I went on Sunday, for 1 giant wash, the cost is $7.00 Why was I charged $20 ? Are you deliberately stealing from me ? No laundry machine in that joint is $20 bucks No lie this has happened before, they over charged me double but I was like it must have been a glitch. You know, no big deal. But this is getting out of hand. Maybe just stick to uSIng quarters cause there is no way to avoid the overpayment once you swipe. So sad that this happened. Aside from them taking my hard earned money, it would be a great place to wash. Clean, and always has open machines that work. The dryers so-so. But hey you can't win them all.

A variety of machines from small 2.75 to large $7 washers and many one size fits most driers. Parking lot always has space available. Most machines take credit card, although they will charge you 20$ initially and then refund you the unspent amount from that an hour or two later. Counts as "car washes" for US Bank credit card business type. A few seats available, bathroom, trash and recycling. Just enough time to walk up the nearby hill for the sunset view if you time it right while washing.

I have no idea what the size is for one $0.75 purchase but I'm assuming it worth one load.

When I called, they told me they had found them in one of the machines and had carefully put them away for me. In a world where it's easy to lose faith in people, this simple act of kindness meant so much to me. Their thoughtfulness, integrity, and genuine care for their customers truly touched my heart. Businesses like this deserve to be recognized and supported. Thank you for going above and beyond. Because of your kindness, you've gained a loyal customer for life, and I will gladly recommend your laundromat to everyone I know.

They always say hello when I come in, and I genuinely look forward to seeing them. You can tell how hard they work and how much they care about their customers. The machines are fairly new, everything is clean and well maintained, and there are plenty of different sizes. I recently washed a huge mattress topper in the triple loader and dried it in the extra-large dryer, and it worked perfectly. They also offer wash-and-fold service. I don't personally use that service, but I've watched them doing it, and they are incredibly careful with people's clothes. You can really see the pride and care they put into their work. I also feel very safe here. The owners are around a lot, there are cameras, and it's on a nice block. And while you're waiting for your laundry, you can grab pizza, a burger, or some vegan food right next door. I really do love this place. It's not just a laundromat -- it's a friendly neighborhood business run by people who genuinely care. I'm very happy to support them and highly recommend Albany Washing Well!

Started going…read moreto Spincycle in El Cerrito Plaza - they are always ridiculously busy and the floor is always dirty. Today while waiting at Spincycle for one of the 3 larger machines, I just decided to get back in my car and drove to TubTown. I was actually pretty excited because I'd read the reviews prior to coming today. When I first pulled up, there was constant shouting. I got out of my car - it's coming from some Evangelical preacher or something across the street who has a bullhorn. Annoying af and it's been going on now for like an hour. But not the laundromat's fault. Now for my actual laundromat experience: There were about ten people here on a Wednesday around noon - not crazy busy and there an ample amount of machines available. Machines smelled clean and the floor is a little run down but not in a way that makes you feel gross. The worker here mopped the floor while I was there, which I appreciate. Average laundry prices - a bit pricey but it's worth it for the machine availability. Spincycle machine for $11 can accommodate more than the $11 machine here (warm water), but you always have to wait for that big one at spin cycle. It was my first time here and getting my wash started was a bit frustrating. I asked the worker and he told me I could buy a card for $2.50 and load it or download the app for now fee. I downloaded the app and spent way too long trying to unsuccessfully connect it. I finally asked the worker for assistance and he tried multiple times but couldn't get it to work either and said maybe it's my phone. I've never had issues with my phone before but what could I really do at this point other than buy a card? So I bought a card - $2.50 for the card plus a THREE DOLLAR FEE to load the card using your credit card!!! I opted for the $100 loading option in order to get a $20 bonus, so after paying the $105.50, I had a balance of $117 to use on my card. I can't believe every time I reload by card it will be an extra $3 fee! Once I finally started my wash with the card, I was wondering when I would be told to "add bleach" as the machine indicates you should add it when it displays. I asked the worker how long into the cycle it normally takes before you are instructed to add the bleach. He seemed like he was a little annoyed but trying hard to hide it and be nice - which I personally think is still good customer service lol because you can't really help feeling annoyed but you're making an effort to hide it. Anyway, he was like "you can add the bleach before you start the machine" and I was like "well why does it say wait to add the bleach until it displays"? Anyway, we walked back over to the machine I was using and the machine was now displaying the message "add bleach" - about 3 minutes into the wash cycle, if anyone is wondering. 4 stars for facilities/machines/cleanliness. 1 star for app not working and laundry card fees - & that's a pretty big deal for me. So I'll give an avg based on that, but it would be more a 3.75 for me

First off, I've been here three times. Its the closest laundromat to my house and I rarely see anybody here. Those are the only positive things about this place. Plenty of parking. I have never seen an attendant. I doubt this place has anyone running it. 2 out of 3 times, the trash was overfilled and I had to step outside once I started my laundry because the smell was so disgusting. Why are the benches so close to the trash?? There was trash on the floor and what smelt like rotting food in the trash. The walls aren't even done being painted and I have to be careful so I don't step on trash. The machines are trash. Every time, at least three of the dryers I use dont work, but I don't know until I check my laundry. And a good amount of the dryers already have out of order signs on them, so I can hardly say the dryers work. They're heating also ranges from lukewarm to scolding hot. Also, all the machines are so expensive! The smallest load to wash is over 5 dollars. I think the high prices is the only way I can imagine this place staying afloat. They offer cards where you can add money to use (rather then quarters, which can be convenient) buy you get taxed by add money to the cards and when you buy one. You can only skip a fee when you add money directly at a washer or dryer. Anyways, if you're not desperate, literally anywhere else will worth it. There's some businesses where people shoild be ashamed to be business owners and managers, and this is one of them.
