He clearly explained and showed me what the issue was, how it happens, and how to properly maintain the dryer going forward. He cleaned up after himself (which I appreciate) and I was left with an almost new dryer! Hoping I won't need to but will definitely be reaching out again when the next appliance goes out!

I was initially a bit worried that the business had been absorbed into a national chain, but it turned out to be just a name change with the same great local ownership. Most recently, our wall oven went dead on the 4th of July. We called Homewise and spoke with Lyla Vo, who was fantastic at advising us on replacement options. While working with her, we also decided to replace our 15-year-old dishwasher to take advantage of a two-item extra rebate! Over the years, we've tried other options in the area, but Homewise strikes the perfect balance: Vs. High-End Local Outfits: Higher-end stores seem bothered if you aren't remodeling an entire kitchen. Even though we'd bought from them before, they lacked interest when we only needed a single replacement item. Vs. Big National DIY Chains: Big-box stores are a headache. Twice, their installers walked out refusing to complete the job due to minor water, power, or circuit compliance issues. While those may have been on our end due to older coding, there was zero flexibility or real-time planning--they are bound strictly by corporate liability rules and won't work with you on the spot. Plus, you're basically dealing with a website, not a human. Why Homewise Wins: Even though we handled everything over the phone with Lyla, the entire experience was seamless. When we had follow-up questions, Lyla even responded from her phone after her shift was over! That kind of personal, above-and-beyond care is rare. On top of that, the installation process was super smooth, and they strictly honored their 4-hour delivery window. Homewise delivers the exact feel of working with a reliable, friendly neighborhood salesperson. Next time an appliance needs replacing, we're heading straight back to them. I was in the market for a new washer and dryer after my washing machine broke, so I looked around…read moreand compared prices at several different retailers. From the beginning, HomeWise Appliance had the lowest starting price. It was also during their Fourth of July sale, and I received an additional instant discount of $75 per appliance for purchasing both the washer and dryer, saving me another $150 total. There were also two additional manufacturer rebates available that I still need to submit. I have seen some reviews mentioning issues with receiving rebate money, so I cannot comment on that part of the process yet. However, even before factoring in those rebates, the washer and dryer were still the least expensive I found anywhere. With HomeWise's additional Fourth of July discount, the total price became even lower than every other retailer I compared. Even if I ultimately receive only one of the two rebates, this will still have been, by far, the best overall price. The service was also great. Delivery was available the next day, and I had no issues throughout the entire process. I was charged an additional $50 because my home has more than 32 stairs, which I thought was completely reasonable. The prices they offered for the required installation components were also reasonable. However, I already had some of my own new washer and dryer lines, and the installers were happy to use and install them without any problem. Antonio, who helped me at the Redwood City location, was extremely knowledgeable about the washer and dryer--more so than anyone I spoke with at the other stores I visited. I really appreciated his candor and his willingness to discuss the differences among the various options. At no point did I feel pressured to purchase anything, which was both important and refreshing. It genuinely felt like he was there simply to help me make the best decision. Overall, this was a great experience. Based on the pricing, knowledgeable service, next-day delivery, and lack of sales pressure, I would not buy my appliances anywhere else. HomeWise had the lowest starting price, the lowest final price after its own discounts, and the potential for even greater savings once the rebates are processed.

He installed the new fan and unfortunately the refrigerator still wasn't getting as cold as needed, he immediately came back out 2 additional times and made assessments and fixes, on the 3rd time he discovered that the new fan that he was sent was directive, so he ordered a new one and came, as soon as it was received, on a Sunday, and installed it. Now it's working perfectly and all the additional visits and repairs were included under his great warranty. I really appreciate David, he's great to work with and seems to know everything about every kind of appliances, and doesn't give up until he gets your appliance running like new. Contacted Thermador and they came twice for repair, however it's unrepairable and in order to exchange, I must provide a receipt. When I asked Soufinane for a receipt, he said the his receipt not work for exchange, of course he won't tell you this before purchase. And he didn't provide another HELP for selling defective products, pushing you to the Manufacturer was the only thing he did for me. ---UPDATE---: Re Soufiane C.: "It is important to hire the right contractor to install the unit and not someone, who will break it in the process and blames it on the unit or the tools." The contractor installed the unit is a CA licensed contractor, and Thermador's technician came twice for the repairing, and told me it's unrepairable even they replaced a brand new board. It's definitely a defectives. From above comment from the business owner, you would find he would use all kinds of excuses to "prove" he has absolutely no business with the defectives he sold. He never provide me a store receipt for the sale, and claimed he is a craigslist seller and sold things as-is. (hmm, why you have a physical store in Oakland, should you obey the local retail laws to provide a receipt at least)?

Other companies didn't even bother asking. Basically, the oven temperature no longer consistent and fluctuates 50 degrees. This started after I was cleaning and my drip tray got caught on some wiring. After a 10-minute consultation, Vissal asked for the model number and once found, could set up the appointment. The next day I realized that even though I've had my Viking range 15 years (no longer under warranty) that it would be best to contact an Authorized Viking Repair company - I was referred to a company in San Jose. I texted Vissal that I was going another route and he quickly responded no problem. Friendly and professional customer service and thanks to Vissal for taking the time to work with me! It showed he really wanted to help which is much appreciated! Another 5-star review added to Top Tier Appliance Repair!

I purchased a used Izzo Alex Duetto III espresso machine from the owner of this business via Facebook Marketplace last month. The listing had stated that the machine needed repairs, including a new pump, heating element, and o-ring for the mushroom. In our conversation, I specifically asked the owner if the machine was in overall good condition aside from those repairs, to which he assured me it was. However, when I started working on the machine a week later, I discovered that it was poorly disassembled and missing numerous crucial parts. These included the main electronics controller, one solid state relay, the bottom body panel, the pump collar, the lid for the water tank, and all of the screws. The motor itself was also corroded, and the bearing was grinding due to a pump leak. It was clear that the machine had been disassembled at some point, and the owner likely decided not to fix it. I reached out to the owner, hoping it was an honest mistake, and asked if he had simply forgotten to include a bag of parts. He responded that he didn't have any of the missing parts and reiterated that the machine was being sold as a project with missing parts. I pointed out that these missing components--estimated to cost around $1,000--were never disclosed upfront, despite his assurances that the machine was in "good condition overall." While the owner offered to take the machine back, the logistics of returning it (a 2-hour drive each way) along with the fact that I had already spent $300 on non-returnable parts made this unfeasible. I chose to accept the loss but strongly urged him to be more transparent with future customers. It's also worth noting that the owner has since deleted the original Marketplace listing, which prevented me from leaving this review on the platform where I made the purchase. I'm sharing this experience here to warn others. It's disappointing to have had this experience, and I feel that my situation reflects a lack of honesty and integrity in how this machine was sold. I would caution others to thoroughly inspect any items sold by this business and to expect full transparency regarding their condition. read more

I was gifted a beautiful Expobar Office Lever and the pump was burned out. Kanen expertly diagnosed what was wrong with my machine... provided a detailed repair estimate and then ordered the parts and fixed my machine. They really took the time to do it right. They broke down my e61 grouphead and completely went through it. Replaced all the seals and worn moving parts... replaced the group head filter. They totally clean the entire grouphead and then put it back together. They also replaced the air valve and did a citric acid flush of the entire machine. And, they had to replace the pump at the end and did not even charge me labor since it was not in the original estimate. Pretty nice. One of the coolest part of the service was that when they are done and email your invoice, they put up a video on youtube showing them operating the machine. They test the steam wand and the hot water wand. And then they pull (a most delicious looking) shot through your machine so that you can see it all working. Classy! After I had the machine home for a few days... I thought I had killed the machine. I emailed them and they quickly called me back and walked me through putting water in the machine. I had forgotten and it cuts off when it doesn't sense water. If you need repairs on a machine.. I highly recommend them. They also sell machines and will train you to use them! Nothing to be intimidated about... just come talk to these folks! They will up your espresso game by 1000%! read more

The frother had stopped working on my Gaggia Classic, and a while later the coffee stopped heating, so I went to Kanen and handed the machine to Sam. On the spot, he explained some of the possible solutions to me; I paid the initial service fee, and left the machine with him. One week later I received an email informing me of their diagnosis (a bad thermostat) and giving me the option of having the repair or not. I picked up the repaired machine that day. The deposit I had left was subtracted from the repair cost. Before I left the shop, Sam taught me the process of flushing the machine (handing me printed instructions), and sold me the brewer cleaner to do that job at home. Returning home I made a cappuccino, as the machine hummed through both the coffee making and the milk frothing. That same day I also found an email from Sam asking me how the machine was working. I'm hoping that the machine will work fine for quite a while now, but wouldn't hesitate to take it back to Kanen if something wasn't to my satisfaction. The proof now is in the pudding. I saw some negative reviews on this site but, to be honest, my repair experience was great. Yossi handled everything very well and sent me videos to show me the problem, the part being replaced and keep me very well posted on the progress. The fact that you can call and make an appointment makes it very easy to plan on going there. It's also close to BART and quicker to get to than some places within SF (not tolls, no parking, no traffic). My repair was for a spring on my Gaggia MDF grinder (which he identified right away). The cost of the repair might seem a little on the pricey side but, as I haven't required any coffee machine repairs in a very long time , the cost probably reflects the current going rate. That said, the cost is a good value when you consider the purchase cost of the equipment that is being repaired. I have a Gaggia coffee maker that is going strong but I suspect that, after so many years, it will need cleaning and a check up and I definitely plan to bring it over to Kanen Coffee to work on. read more

Los Angeles must have the hardest water in the universe. In fact the U.S. Geological Survey (if I read their rating thing correctly) says that L.A. does have some of the hardest water in the U.S. In any case, the water was hard enough to kill one Rancilio Silvia and had started to work its evil on a second machine when I blessedly found Kanen Coffee and Sam, who was able to revive my machine. He cleaned a corroded drip dray (more diseased than corroded) and tuned the group head, and of course he descaled the machine--which could not have been an easy task given my inattention over the years. And almost as important as his work on my machine, he patiently answered my questions and gave me some great advice on keeping my resurrected machine working. I'm pulling some great shots now thanks to Sam and Kanen. read more

I needed a repair on my 2013 Breville dual boiler espresso machine. Luckily I found Kanen Coffee just about 45 mins from my house. After a helpful email exchange, I made an appointment. Sam met me and asked about my machine. We agreed on a plan to diagnose and then he would provide an estimate to repair. The cost to diagnose would be applied to the repair. I got back the estimate in about 2 weeks, and authorized the repair. A week later, the repair was completed. Sam even posted a youtube video to show my machine working again! I'm very pleased with the quality and responsivness of Kanen Coffee. Also the price was very fair considering the work required. I have a Simonelli Musica, more or less brand new, which suddenly crapped out. No heating element, no steam, no bueno. I am so happy I was able to take it to Kanen and deal with a local, personal, friendly shop, instead of taking it far afield and dealing with people I wouldn't have easy access to if I needed follow-up care for the machine. As it turned out the folks at Kanen did diagnostic and fixed it and had it back to me in good time for a very reasonable price, and it's been working great ever since. Had an excellent experience with Kanen Coffee. They clearly are experts in their field. Sam quickly figured out the problem and had us back up and caffinated in no time at all. Their services are not cheap but I did NOT feel like I overpaid. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. While they pointed out that regular maintenance is always a good idea, noone pushed the topic. These guys are great! We have had our Izzo Alex Duetto II serviced twice by them during our 5 to six years of ownership. We have had no significant problems with our machine, but this last time they found significant mineral build-up inside the steam boiler. We have very hard water in the central valley of California, and our previous filter system was not getting the job done. They recommended a better filtering system to us, and we are hoping it does the trick. Overall, they were timely in their service, and reasonably priced. They know what they are doing. read more

I recently visited Kanen Coffee to look at espresso machines and burr grinders. Astrid welcomed me and took me through many of their most popular options at different price points. She kindly demonstrated how the machine I was most interested in worked and even pulled a shot for me so I could see the process end-to-end. It's reassuring to know that if my machine ever needs repairs down the line, Kanen is close by so I can bring it somewhere local instead of having to send it away. Sad company taking over a month and a half to repair my 2 krups machines and having a hard time getting a hold of them or return phone calls. this company is a joke and would not recommend to anyone that wants their machine repaired in a reasonable amount of time just found out that its not reparable and now my second machine that i sent in that finally came back stopped working after 2 days what a joke never if i had the option but the bad extended warranty company tried to save money but didnt work out too well lol read more

When I tried to reattach the side panels to troubleshoot it, I found that parts had been disassembled and the screws were missing.
