So this morning it all seemed like too much. I drove to work not knowing how I was going to do another day. Then I saw an open parking spot at Perfect Pour. Normally, I go to a chain coffee shop because it's close to my work, but I didn't think I would make it to work if I didn't grab something before I left town. I had only been there once so didn't know what to order, but settled on a Mocha coffee. They made it quickly and as I picked it up, I realized my shirt was on inside out. Just smelling it, woke me up enough to realize I was dressed wrong. I knew this Mocha from Perfect Pour probably saved my life. Thank you Perfect Pour!

Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

I understand a sourdough cinnamon roll, but this one way too sour. There is not enough frosting in/on the roll - I asked the employee at the counter if they by chance had sides of it, which they do not. That's not a deal breaker, if the roll wasn't soooo dry and sour. Kouign amann was okay, nothing to write home about. What's strange is that the sourdough loaves are less sour than the cinnamon roll. Really not a fan of the area this bakery is in, as it is so dingy and dirty, but that's not reflected in the review.

Drinks: Mai Tai - solid, a little boozy, balanced sweetness and acidity with a nice kick of rum, full size pours for the happy hour cocktail which was amazing, definitely worth a try if you like mai tai's Ube Pina Colada - delicious, sweet, creamy with a pineapple and coconut being prominent, ube flavor was subtle, a little bit of rum flavor in the back ground but a pretty sweet and indulgent cocktail Food: Lumpia - great, came with 6 pieces, served piping hot, great crispy fried crunchy lumpia wrapper filled with ground pork and veggies, served with a tangy sweet and spicy vinegar sauce Spicy Spam Rice Bites - good came with 4 pieces, a half slice of spam breaded in panko and fried crisp. Topped with a piece of nori and some steamed rice sprinkled with scallion and furikake which helped to cut some of the saltiness. Ate a touch dry think a drizzle of a tonkatsu sauce or teriyaki would have been great Service was good, water carafe was dropped off right when we were seated, plate and utensils provided after we ordered food. Drinks were served shortly after we ordered and food took about 5-10 minutes once we ordered. Staff checked in after we finished our initial bites and we were able to add in additional snacks before end of happy hour which was great. Overall really enjoyed happy hour at Hula Hoop, great menu of drink and food specials that were really a great deal definitely will be returning.

(Add a shot of vodka $4)" ** This drink was pretty & purple, but it was very sweet for me. If we come back, I'd have to adjust the sweetness level, if that's even possible. The vodka was 24% vs. 40% proof due to their limited liquor license. 4/5 BRUSSELS SPROUTS AND FRIES ~ "Fried Brussels sprouts and French fries served with pesto mayo dipping." ** It came piping hot, and both the Brussels sprouts and fries were lightly crispy! But the pesto mayo didn't quite have a strong pesto flavor. Still, it's a good starter! 4/5 "HAT YAI" FRIED CHICKEN AND VANILLA WAFFLES ~ "Southern of Thailand-Style fried chicken and vanilla waffles, served with fresh fruit and maple syrup." ** Chicken was hot and crunchy, while the waffle was soft. I actually waited to try the waffles because the amount of delicious chicken on top was amazingly generous! Everything was beautifully prepared and presented, with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, seasonal fruit, and a side of maple syrup for dipping. 5/5 CRISPY CHICKEN BENEDICT ~ "Crispy chicken, poached eggs, pesto mayo and hollandaise sauce." ** The 2 eggs were done perfectly oozy! The chicken couldn't hold its crispy crunchiness with the eggs Benedict on top. However, it was still yummy! 4/5 Definitely IG-worthy! Service was top-notch, and the food was about a 4.5-star rating for the dishes we ordered. Now I understand why they were super busy when this spot opened! Overall, we enjoyed our entrees and thought it was one of the better brunch spots we've been to thus far. Glad we got the chance to try it!
