The worst there is in Pittsburgh. Overpriced, delayed work, false promises, your car will be handed over with the old parts left inside your car, they will not clean your car of all the paint dust, and some repairs won't be done. They don't meet deadlines and they don't finish their work. Theeen!, they will tell you not to wash the car for one month so you drive around in the winter with that salt on your car for the whole month, something that no experts in the car repairs have ever heard of. You drive around inhaling all the dust from whatever it is they were grinding if I may put it politely..its allover your starring wheel, vents! seats! You smell death while driving your brand new car that had just a small dent that took them 29 days to fix @ a price of 7k!.. I hope you are all good readers. Will never forget this experience. Do NOT use this shop for repairs. I had read previous reviews on Google which are mostly positive and because they participate with my insurance company for easy service, I chose them. Here is a list of all the problems: 1. They misquoted on the first estimate. They didn't do enough research on the vehicle to determine what type of paint was on it and they underwrote the estimate for paint. I'm pretty sure this info is included in the VIN. 2. They don't communicate. Any communication about my vehicle while it was in repair was initiated by me. Originally this was a drop off Monday, pickup by Friday job. They never called to say they weren't meeting that deadline. I called them and they had a parts delay. I get it. It's a pandemic. But a call would have helped. When I called them this week, they decided the part they ordered (and my insurance company paid for) they decided not to use because they could fix it for less. They also broke a part disassembling the bumper cover. Not sure why I have to pay for that. Annoying. The car was ready for pickup yesterday. 3. They added a service for a detail. I found out what was included in the detail (machine wax, interior wipe down, tire shine) and decided to leave it in. The car wasn't detailed at all. Tires weren't shiny. The inside was filthy. 4. The work was shoddy at best. Dishonest at worst. The "repair" of the bumper cover wasn't even done right. It's cracked. You can't repair a crack in plastic. Why they thought that would ever work I don't know. See the pictures for more info. They also did a very poor job painting the bumper (the sensor cover hole is embarrassingly bad). This was a minor repair and they somehow made it look worse. Picture attached. 5. The manager, Mike, got my email but never responded. Jonah, the employee I spoke to today, and throughout the process, told me he's only been there since December -- assuming that was an excuse? My concern was how this was missed in a quality inspection. I mean, it's clear damage. Obviously no one looked at it. 6. They bribe people for 5 star reviews by offering a free detail. The card is in your paperwork packet. The shop has agreed to replace the bumper cover (with the part they ordered and my insurance company paid for) and to refund the detail. It's supposed to go back Monday. Todd was the technician who worked on it. If you do decide to use them, make sure you request someone else. I'll update my review if they satisfactorily complete the new repair. Either way, I don't have to pay anyone else. I can take it to another shop and my insurance company will do a chargeback to City Collision for all the work they poorly completed. read more

While I'm not sure anyone ever wants to have to frequent a place with the word "collision" in the name, I would go back here in a heartbeat. I was in a minor fender bender about a month ago. City Collision was one of the "select service" providers designated by my insurance, and for the sake of ease and speed of getting the process resolved, I decided to go with them. I'm SO glad I did. Their staff is friendly and great at communication. I received updates through phone call a few different times throughout the process. They offer a complimentary exterior wash (and a few other services for a charge if you select those). My car was scheduled to be ready at 5:30 pm one afternoon, but when I asked if it would be possible to get it done a bit earlier so I could make an appointment, they had it ready for me by 2 pm. My car looks awesome (clean and not dented)! Dealing with City Collision was the best part of this not-so-great incident and I would return to them/recommend them to anyone. read more

It's always difficult to be a woman and find honest vehicle services, but City Collision is one of the good guys. I crumpled the front end of my Honda Element, and was looking for somewhere close to home for the repairs. I live in Lawrenceville so the location was convenient and the reviews were favorable. They were professional, honest, nice guys, and did great work. Once I opened the claim and took my car to the garage for an estimate, they took care of all correspondence needed moving forward, down to contacting the rental company and setting it all up for me. Completely streamlined, which I couldn't appreciate more with my crazy schedule. The work was done well and they communicated with me through the entire process. Purely awesome. Someone scratched up my bumper on my car, and it is a lease- so it had to be fixed correctly and look perfect. Having read other reviews on Yelp, I took it to City Collision. This shop, unlike other auto body places, was spotless and appealing. The folks I dealt with in person and on the phone were polite, courteous, professional- always. I emailed them the estimate from the insurance company and reserved a time to drop off the car. I took it in as scheduled and picked it up three days later, right on time. Their lack of follow-up and failure to answer my emails lead me to select another company as I do not have time to go back and forth attempting to get a simple answer. A very unprofessional company. After more than a week of waiting for City Collision to begin work on my State Farm insurance claim, their customer service rep told my State Farm insurance adjuster that he was simply not interested in fixing my car. Unfortunately for his sake, he was too stupid to have remembered that I was actually listening in on the same call. He wouldn't even send State Farm the necessary documentation to decline performing the work on my vehicle, which left my claim in limbo for several additional days. Don't visit City Collision unless you're interested in wasting your own valuable time, or you're interested in shaking hands with customer service reps who appear to be unbathed and are constantly covered in a thick layer of dog hair. read more

I've been told that a sign of a good repair shop is when there are no cars piled up in the parking lot. This shop is definitely clean and I had a great experience here. My bumper was hit in an accident and I came here for a repair. The guys here were very nice, professional, and well experienced, and took great care with my vehicle. They did a great job replacing the bumper and provided a clean paint job. The staff was always reachable and stuck to their estimated completion schedule. The work this place did on my car was great, but their customer service was an absolute joke. Originally my car was estimated to be done in a week - they found more damage, and it took a week extra. This wouldn't be a huge deal, but they didn't even call to tell me! They also didn't call to confirm when I should drop off my car (I had to call them), but somehow they DID call my rental car company and change my reservation to a pick up - WITHOUT TELLING ME! I then went to the rental car place and was told the car wasn't there, and had to wait an additional 40 minutes to get it worked out. Even after the delay, they last ~3 days of my car being in the shop were me calling and them saying it would be done anytime (it wasn't). At one point, I had to actually confirm that they even had my phone number. They only called me once the ENTIRE time my car was in the shop! Absolutely ridiculous. The work ended up looking good, but I can get good work done plenty of places - and next time I'd pick one that has any semblance of customer service. read more

I experienced good and bad but overall I am pleased with how my car turned out and would likely go back. I'll start with the bad and end with the good. Back story: took my car in for some repair for scratches, paint chips, dents, and hail dimples from a storm. Cons: -no shuttle service -scheduled out over a month -went to pick up my car and everything is fixed except for the 15+ hail dents on top of my car, had to take my car home and bring it back for another entire day to be fixed -took the car in in Tuesday, told me my car would be done by Friday, wasn't done until 4:00 Monday when I got my car back my check engine light was on and I had a car door open light on. The check engine light was related to the O2 sensor likely from them messing around with the bumper. The car door light ultimately was because my trunk was left open which then led to my battery light coming on when I was on my way home and my car wouldn't start after I got home. Just all seems a little careless. Pros: -good customer service, Evan was great at coordinating and made sure the hail dents got fixed the next day per their mistake -super convenient location, especially for me living in Bloomfield -seamless billing of my insurance. Actually I didn't even have to submit anything to my insurance except my original claim over the phone. They sent the estimate directly over and will bill my insurance directly. Not sure if this is the case for all insurance agencies but it is for State Farm. -my car was spotless inside and out when I got it back! A little extra that I didn't expect but I sure do appreciate it. The repairs they did made it look just like new and for that part can't be happier. - read more

In the last two years, I have had ALL 3 of my cars repaired by them for collision work. Interestingly enough, they were not my fault, but that's beside the point. I will say that they provided me with honest and thorough estimates, worked well with the insurance companies and were nothing but pleasant and professional in my dealings with them. Work is quality, and the parts are the real-deal (not junkyard puils either), and the paintwork is first-rate. They didn't muck around when it came to getting the work scheduled and completed either - work was completed as scheduled and on-time. They also wash your car before giving it back to you. Since I was, unfortunately, a repeat customer - they also gave the interior a really good clean-out and carpet clean. I don't think there is an easy way to deal with insurance companies, repair costs, rental car companies, all that stuff. But I feel like these guys really know what they're doing. I certainly had an easy experience: I got extra days on my rental car because of their quick intervention, Enterprise was down the street so the rental was delivered, and there was virtually no wait. I also never had to deal with the insurance company paying the claim, even though they initially tried to make things a bit more difficult for me. I originally posted this a month ago but the review "disappeared". Don't trust a place that removes bad reviews. I must admit that this review is based on an experience 10 months ago. I am still angered enough by my experience to take the time to write a review. I will summarize this the best possible. Estimated completion 6 days, actual completion 25 days (weekdays). Estimated cost $1700, actual cost $4700. I had to call repeatedly to find out if and when my car would be finished and they would just continue to extend the time period without giving me a reason. Every time I called, I asked to speak to a manager, who was never available, and to have them call me, which failed to happen every time. I never had the opportunity to speak to a manager. Finally, when they said the job was complete I went to pick up the vehicle and the first time the body was malaligned, they kept the vehicle to fix it, three days later returned when they said that it was ready, the pieces they realigned had large scratches in the paint and fender. Finally on the third trip, the final product was completed. One of the most disturbing factors of the whole experiences is I never once had an employee, let alone a manager, apologize for the difficulties. This became such an issue that my insurance forced them to pay for part of my rental car. I would highly recommend finding another body shop. read more

Never get services at City Collision shop! On 2/04/2016 got multiple car accident in a Squirrel Hill tunnel two vehicles hit my 2000 Jeep Laredo rear end impact causing rear and front ends damages. Problem for City Collision Appraisal Roy Holt was my front windshield crack damage he could not understand I was carrying inside of the vehicle 4 pvc pipes 12 feet long each. Those pipes because of the accident damaged my front windshield but Appraisal Roy Holt said it could not be, put in documentation for State Farm insurance that damage as prior damage not related to the accident. He said in documentation damage on the glass was by chip - despite no such evidence of the chip impact on the front windshield glass. I was advised to take pictures and submit them to State Farm but people who worked on my claim said "they have a physical evidence the damage was by chip" - the physical evidence is only poor skilled impression about the damage my vehicle got on 2/04/2016 and lie by City Collision Appraisal Roy Holt saying in his documentation that customer agreed that the front windshield damage was by stone chip. I never agreed and I took pictures of my damages as evidence but State Farm insurance working these days funny regarding claims and their claims team representative no more at position to make decision, so all my evidences were not considered because of violations done by City Collision Appraisal Roy Holt. Never would recommend this place to anyone. Bad and unreasonable service. read more

Don't take your car here. First of all, I read negative reviews about this place before I brought it in and those reviews have since mysteriously disappeared. Against my better judgment, I brought my car in anyway, and they charged twice what they estimated, and it took four days longer to get my car back (three times their estimate). Additionally they claim they called and left a message about additional costs and when the car was ready - they never contacted me, and in fact I actually called them to verify that they had my phone number correct. read more

My car is older too and it looks brand new!! They did an amazing job! I had some scratches on my bumper that wasn't even from my accident and they buffed it out or repainted it. My second experience with City Collision was just as bad as the first. The only reason that I went back was because the quality of the previous repair was very good. But it is simply not worth the total lack of customer service. They tell you that they will be in touch with you regarding any delays, but the reality is that unless you are after them constantly, you will never hear from them. And someone else is always to blame for the delay: The insurance company, the parts provider, just never City Collision. The first repair job took 5 weeks and the second repair job is now 2 days past what the insurance company estimated. Never again. read more
