Cozy spot for a large group low-key hang. Drink options were pretty diverse. Got the nachos which were pretty good, beer cheese on it was unique. Def got a bit salty and couldn't finish the plate, probably better to share. Also vegetarian options with jackfruit tacos that my friend got.

Lively corner taproom with solid beer options and a great food menu. Plenty of outdoor space as well as indoor dining space, this location gives a ton of options and capacity to entertain small or large groups. The tacos were amazing, they have great rotating taps with seasonal or new release beers as well as some year round options. Across the board, their beers are pretty solid (I'm not a connoisseur but do love a crisp craft lager) and you can do a flight or short pours. The staff was great, bartenders were lovely, and definitely will be back again!

5oz beers. If you want a "sampler" or flight of beers, you just need to select your beer voice then select 5oz (for this size).

Food 20 out of 10, beer 20 out of 10, service 20 out of 10. 20 out of 10 would recommend!!! Can't want to come back to Grand Rapids!

City Built has been a solid place every single time we've came. The beers are great, the food is great, and the staff are friendly and relatively quick, even when it's busy.

Great flight variety. Loved the Wobbly Pop. Crisp and refreshing hard seltzer paired with the Jackfruit taco especially good! Chicken Tinga taco paired nice with Friday night crusher. Cubano sandwich with yuca fries excellent with Marzanna (Oktoberfest) or the Werewolves. Good clean atmosphere. Service attentive even with busy.

Everything about this brewery is unique and well Done. They have the best IPA in Grand Rapids, great beer selection, fair prices, and unique gourmet food. They have lots of board games to help pass the time. Also, the owner is Latino and we have got to give a shout out for more minority owned breweries! Beer: 5/5. Try all the IPA and sours, they are either above average to great! While most IPA I had in Grand Rapids were malt forward and lacking nuanced citrus notes, this place nails it. The porter And barley wine were also great, and wish I could come back to try their seasonal stuff. Food: 5/5. The spicy chicken gumbo was gourmet, not the usual black and cayenne pepper mix. It had layers of flavor and just the right thickness. My wife had the fried chicken sandwich and she liked it too. They had salads as well for those being healthy Ambiance: 5/5. Plenty of bench and booth seating indoors, and some outdoor tables with shade. They had dozens of board games to help pass the time, which was ideal for my non-beer drinking friends. The vibe is busy, not loud. Value: 5/5. The quality of the beer and food matched the fair price. Not too fancy, just quality. Service: 4/5. Slight wait given the crowd, but the bartenders are friendly and efficient. Table service was for bussing and dropping food off, you will have to order at the bar. Overall, my favorite brewery during our weekend in Grand Rapids!

    Monday pizza menu

Went here on a Monday and the kitchen was closed but they had. Pizza truck outside. Ordered The Yankee which was very good. Had their Underground and seven year beer. Both excellent. Disappointed that their kitchen was closed on Tuesday as well but their beer is great!

Bori Balls and pork belly taco

Ambience: Indoor was cute! The building was pretty clean. Seats are all wooden. Some booths, some long picnic tables. We opted to sit outside because it was nice out. They had large sun umbrellas over each table, which was nice. And the bathroom was clean! Service: you have to go up to the counter to order. To get the menu, they have a QR code you can scan, or you can also just ask them for one. Because we had to go up to the counter, I had to wait a couple of minutes if I needed something extra (like napkins or utensils)... it was not the most convenient. Food: the Bori Balls were delicious! Inside the balls is rice inside the crispy skin. I'd definitely recommend (and make sure you eat them hot!). Pork belly tacos were delicious and juicy. I loved their sauces that came along. I would highly recommend it. Yucca Fries were great too.

    High Point IPA

Went to city built for a Saturday afternoon lunch when I got there a little before one there was only people eating outside I sat at the bar. Shortly after I had ordered the place filled up! You do have the option to sit inside or bring your food and drinks out side and sit at their outdoor tables or across the street by the river. I had a IPA beer called High Point it was a hazy IPA that was good but not my favorite. I ordered the smoked chicken wings with house rub they were good maybe a little to done but good. I ordered with ranch to dip them but ended up trying their pineapple barbecue sauce which I enjoyed. I also ordered the bori balls and those are a fun appetizer that are very different to share with friends. I did buy a few cans of beer to take home and they have really elaborate artwork on the cans which is really cool.

Chicken tinga tacos and Baby Nelson beer
    Alicia P.

Let's start by saying I have one single picture because everything was so delicious that by the time I went to take more pictures, everything had been eaten up. We ordered chicken tinga tacos and smoked pork tacos with Puerto Rican rice and Yuca fries. All of it was great, but we definitely fought over who could eat the last fry. I would eat all of it again. Our littles had a quesadilla and chicken nuggets-- and they ate all of it. Two thumbs up for having nugs as an option for my picky eater. No wait service, but after ordering at the bar, it was less than 15 minutes before our food was out and the bartender was friendly and helpful when we had questions about the beer selection. My had a couple different IPAs and both were clean and crisp. Very drinkable. The cherry on top of it all was an excellent playlist from the late 90s that had these Gen Xers singing every word. We will be back for sure.

Luckily, I was able to snag a reservation for 6:45, so we found a few things to do nearby while we waited. Once we returned, we were seated upstairs, which I actually prefer. It's noticeably less crowded and quieter than the main floor, making for a more relaxed experience. The menu offers a great variety, and their draft list is especially impressive for beer lovers. This time, I ordered one of their meal deals with mac and cheese, along with pretzels and beer cheese. Portion-wise, it did feel a bit small, but for the price of the deal, it made sense. That said, the flavor was a bit underwhelming. The mac and cheese and beer cheese dip both lacked that rich, cheesy taste I was expecting. The mac and cheese also had quite a bit of topping/breading, and the sauce was fairly loose, almost soupy in consistency. Since this was my first time ordering it, I'm not sure if that's typical. Overall, it's still a great downtown spot that offers something for everyone. The service was prompt and helpful, which definitely added to the experience.

The bartender was our server, and she was kind and helpful. When deciding between two pizzas, she pointed us toward the one with ranch after she learned I love ranch. It was so good, and we ate every bite. My hubby had a cider while I had a flight, so I could try many of their beers. There were so many flavors that I wanted to try, but I settled on the following for my flight: Lovely Day, Party Store, Wildflower, Super Juice Blood Orange, and Fiddle Stix. I couldn't pick a favorite between Lovely Day, Party Store, and Wildflower. The Super Juice flavor I picked was blood orange, but they had many other options that I would try if I lived there. Fryz'licious was slightly overpowering with the amount of beer cheese slopped on there, but a good bite with some hot sauce. Big fan of the beer cheese. Those Nantucket Backing pretzels are 10/10.
