My wife and I have been going to this diner for over 20 years. We have always loved everything about this place; the food was good, the service was attentive and the place was generally well managed. However, within the past year or so everything has gone down hill. I've heard the owners have been trying to sell the business for several years, and I believe they have lost interest in running the business properly. It used to be that one of the owners was constantly expediting orders, seating customers or generally overseeing the operation. Now they just sit drinking coffee, occasionally they take cash. I guess they lost interest. We used to go here every Saturday morning for breakfast and noticed recently, that the food was not as hot as it should be. One morning I ordered French Toast and it was so cold the butter didn't even melt. The last straw for me, came a couple of weeks ago when the coffee was cold. If a diner can't serve good hot coffee, it's time to give up. I hope they find someone to buy them out that will take an interest in running the business properly because it has the potential to be a neighborhood gem, it certainly used to be. read more

If you like raw uncooked eggs and uncooked french fries and toast that is like bread, this is the place to go! Absolutely horrible food. We waited a really long time for our food to come and when it finally did it was completely undercooked, even though we asked for the fries to be well done, they came barely cooked. On long Island we have some good diners; this is not one of them. The food is bland, overcooked and the bread basket that comes to your table was the left overs from a previous guest. The bread baskets are NOT DUMPED, new butters and 1 nuked roll are thrown into the wicker basket and put on someone else's table-often with the previous guests wrappers in the basket. This is a tired diner with a tired staff and a nasty owner. The night we were there a fight between a customer and the owner Nick was starting over Nick being a bully to a waitress and the customer was jumping to the waitresses defense. I like to eat in less hostile places. One of the server said that 31 waitresses have come and gone in the last 12 months. Do yourself a favor a drive just another mile away for a real diner. read more

I am visiting the area from Staten Island. This was the first place I saw getting off the Southern State Parkway. Both hostess and waitress were extremely nice. I had the bbq chicken sandwich and it had plenty of flavor. read more

I had a really nice time with my daughter. Food was great and our waitress... i think Kaitlyn was awesome. I had just come from an emergency orthopaedic visit, was trying crutches, first time ever and was exhausted. She was so nice and accommodating. Talked to my 12 year old etc etc. My dissapponitment was that you could not put your tip on a credit card. I had zero cash on me. I thought it was terrible. I heard someone paying saying they felt bad they didn't leave a tip and they will next time. I've worked in the service industry. We survived on tips. I talked to her about my situation. She told me the whole "cc companies charge back the owner" which i knew. She tells me "its alright. you're an exception because of your knee" How sweet. But still not fair. I really think that they should change that policy. She is a valuable employee. I did find a chase bank right away and went back. My daughter ran the $20 in to the diner. When she came back out she said the waitress was in the bathroom and the hostess said she woul give it to the waitress but asked if my daughter wanted change. Sarah said no and as she was going to leave the owner said "You want to give the waitress the whole thing? And was shocked. Sarah said yes. I really hope our waitress got that tip. The bill was like 42.00 but that wasnt the point. How many tables stiffed her because of that policy. ? Not fair. read more

This place has the most amazing Greek salad dressing on the planet. It's creamy, perfectly tangy, and I wish the owners would just bottle and sell it already. Otherwise, I'll continue to enjoy the Greek salads at what is otherwise a standard Long Island diner, granted one I've grown up going to, and where I have fond memories of spending Saturday mornings blowing bubbles in my chocolate milk. read more

Then when I ordered something from the menu she was like we don't have that, that's not on our menu! This was really disappointing. Being from England, this was my first trip to a US diner. Initially, the place looks immaculate. Retro design, clean tables, clean floors. I was excited. Not for long though. Our waitress was relatively friendly. She seemed tired and unenthusiastic, but helpful. She took our order and returned with our drinks. I had a Coke, which was watery and tasted like fizzy water. My partner had egg cream, which although not to my taste, was pretty good. I was disappointed by the menu. I'd had high expectations and, like a typical tourist, expected the diner scene from the movie Grease. I had imagined burgers, hot dogs, fries, shakes..... What I actually found was a lot of Greek food (which I'm not opposed to) and a lot of seafood. Desperately wanting a hot dog, I finally found 'Frank in a bun' (who's Frank?) under the sandwich section. My other half ordered a BLT (without the T) and fries with cheese. When our food was brought to the table, mine was practically thrown at me. The waitress tipped the plate and, whilst looking behind her, slid it across the table to me. This resulted in fries falling from the plate to my lap. I got an unenthusiastic 'sorry' before she wandered off like a zombie. Food presentation is a big thing for me, clearly it isn't for this diner. On my plate was a tiny, stale, over toasted hot dog bun, a rubber frank and half a portion of fries....the rest being in my lap. There was no garnish, no sauce, nothing. It looked like a 4 year old had made it. My partner's BL(no T) looked ok, until I bit into it and the grease fell out of the bread. Her fries were burned at the edges since the cheese on them had been melted in a microwave for too long. Whilst eating, another waitress decided to, not only tell her life story out loud, but to get glass cleaner out at the same time and start spraying it about a meter away from our table. On the other side of us we had the owner blowing his nose. The experience cost us $30 and a promise to never go back there again. read more

i have had many experiences here, most being quite negative. the food is alright, basic average diner food but for quite the price. Also on numerous occasions ive had to sit there and wait for my waitress to finish her lunch in the back to bring me my check. As well as one time i ordered a gyro wrap and was brought a gyro deluxe while the waitress just assumed i wouldnt mind. of course i minded because it was obviously what i didnt order. long yelp short, i wont be going back ive had about enough of Circle M. read more

My friend and I came here for dinner one evening and as far as diners go it was pretty average. Not bad but nothing spectacular either. I got a shrimp salad sandwich which was okay. It had way too much celery in it which I can't stand the crunch of it. Needless to say I picked through a lot of the sandwich. My friend got an egg sandwich which he liked..though I don't know how hard it is to get eggs right. I would come back here if it was suggested though it wouldn't be my first choice in all honestly. Next time I'll stick to my usual diner fare of chicken fingers and honey mustard. read more

Came in with a party of 12..Waitress made a comment about needing a "small village" to serve us. Weird...ordered at the same time as my party. Asked specifically if the wings were breaded. Waitress said "no". Perfect because I have dietary restrictions. The entire party was served excluding myself. Not an apology, waitress kept saying "wings are on their way"....10 minutes in and still no wings. Entire party is half way through their meals. Finally after 15 minutes the wings come out. Once again no apology. Wings are breaded also. I asked what was the reason for the delay. Explained that I was dissatisfied because my party was concluding their meal. With an attitude, the waitress throws out a half-apology and claims she told me she "forgot to put the chicken ticket in, but I told you that already". My party all confirmed that the waitress never mentioned this. I declined the wings and once again I got an eye roll and an attitude. Moral of the story, don't bring a big party here...in fact don't come at all. Plenty of better diners on Long Island that treat the customer better. I can't comment on the food because I didn't get any...but maybe I'm lucky since the rest of my party's food looked subpar at best. Good luck. read more

I have to agree with the above, if you are hungry just drive a little further up the road and you will hit 3 real diners. Circle M is tired and worn, the waitresses and waiters equally worn and the food barely passable. They won't kill you, but 2 more minutes on the road and you can hit real food and your tummy will luv u! I could not recommend this place to anyone. read more

So i needed to hit up Petco for a new fish since Tobias went to the great Fish Heaven in the sky last week and i was meeting up with Monica for a bite to eat and this was close by. Its a small diner across from Wantagh Baptist church which is the church i grew up going to. Once my sunday school teacher took a bunch of us there for bagels during service and my dad thought i was kidnapped. Good times,,,but i digress. So i got the meatloaf special which came with soda, soup and salad. I got diet coke and salad with russian and matzo ball soup. Soup was damn tasty and i ate all the cucumbers and tomatoes from salad. I do not eat lettuce. Its disgusting. The meatloaf came with mashed potato and string beans. It was really great. i was surprised how good it was!!! Monica got the roadhouse which was roast beef and cheese and ranch on marble rye with disco ff. ((gravy and cheese)). She said it was great. I enjoyed our meal. the service was fine and i have no complaints really. To those on here making comments on the wait staff you are a disgusting troll. What a rip-off! My friend and I ordered small side salads, one with a scoop of tuna and one with a scoop of chicken salad. The price was not on the menu but we certainly were not expecting what the check came to. Can you imagine $31.55 for that? When we inquired about how it could be possible, we were told that the salad was $6.95 and the scoop of tuna/chicken salad was $7.50. The owner was so nasty...don't go there! read more

I have been going here for years - 30 plus years. Not bad but I remember it used to be better. Still good place for lunch and dinner specials. There are lots of great diners around but seldom go Circle M but did today and was disappointed. Must say owner works hard.
