Tried to make a return visit to see if any improvement. It was packed on a Sunday afternoon with our table squished into another table. The room was loud which I found annoying. They don't do the Greek pasta salad anymore which was a bummer. We politely asked the waiter to bring our child's food first and it came last. I ordered the steakhouse salad which was tasty. Searched for a diner in the area after an appointment. Massapequa Diner didn't show up in my immediate search but I spotted it while stopped at a light. Glad I did. I found a great Diner with a full menu and great service. I ordered a BLT with grilled shrimp and avocado. Bacon was crispy. Shrimp were cooked just right and the avocado was in the form of a spread. It was all served on a soft, warm Italian loaf. The side of chipotle mayo and pickles gave it extra zing. I opted for onion rings instead of fries. Excellent choice. Massapequa Diner will surely see me again if I'm ever that far out on LI. read more

An underrated diner you must try! I've been here at least once every time I go to NY to visit my family. This restaurant hits. I've experienced good service and the food has been consistent since I order the same thing every time. What I ordered: - Coffee: Black, no creamer, no milk. I enjoy it as-is. There's nothing special about their coffee. It tastes as it should and does the job. - Chipotle Chicken Panini: The portion on the plate might not look like much, but it will fill you up. I always go with curly fries as my side. The chipotle on the perfectly cooked bread tastes delish. - Mozzarella Sticks: Best eaten while hot, get that cheese pull you're looking for. They taste amazing dipped in the included marinara. Service was good, I believe Shannon (?) was my last server to help me. Parking is available on the side of the diner and in the back. Plenty of it. We came here for lunch and were very promptly seated. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive throughout our entire meal. He was very patient when answering my questions about the various omelettes that didn't have descriptions on the menu. Our food arrived fairly quickly after ordering. One thing that I was surprised by were the portions, our plates were huge. So keep that in mind when ordering, we probably should have just split some of our plates because we had a ton leftover. I really enjoyed the classic diner feel of the place and all of the chrome. All in all I really liked it here and would come back again. read more

My wife and I tried the Massapequa diner for lunch. We tried bolt specials. My wife had waffles and chicken, which the chicken was super dry. There wasn't any syrup served with the meal. I had the brisket sandwich on the special very tough and dry. I'm sorry to say I won't be back. Sorry do better. read more

We came here as it was one of the only spots open after a show at mulcahy's. When in doubt, diner it out? Since I knew sleep wasn't far off in my horizon, I didn't want to order anything too heavy, too greasy, or too sugary. So breakfast sounded good. I kept it millennially simple with avocado toast and a side salad. It was pretty underwhelming. Yes, toast, check. Yes, avocado, check. Eggs, too... but there was no flavor in any of the ingredients other than what was there. Not even a hint of cracked pepper mixed into the avocado. Either way, the diner was pretty standard. We've "rediscovered" the diner post-covid through delivery. After hitting our favorite delivery spots numerous time, we figured the variety at the diner would be refreshing. We love their chicken salad, the gyro is awesome and my wife is addicted to grilled cheese.... with a variety of meats to jazz it up. The paninis are excellent as well, and be prepared for at least 1/2 a bag of tots if you upgrade from fries! They package everything well so it nice and warm. GO TO ANOTHER DINER! Bunch of retired widows - highest tax bracket - most disposable income with least amount of drive to cook anymore will not be returning. Your loss! While the food was fine and the service fine, I was so annoyed that they wouldn't give us a corner booth. That, we were told, was for a party of 7 (we were 5). Really? No party sat there for 2 hours! I was tempted to leave. I can't imagine people being so unaccommodating. But I didn't want to make everyone get back into their car to drive to any other diner! There are still too many good ones to be bothered with Massapequa. I won't be returning. I will take my diner-frequenting butt to the Lindenhurst, Embassy, Carle Place, Nautilus, Oconee, Infinity, Grand Stage, Colonie - any place else that can be nicer to customers. read more

We were in town for a family function and a relative made a large reservation for 11 people at 5:30 on a Saturday night. It was already fairly busy when we arrived and was packed when we left. Thr decor was a fresh and modern approach to retro. Service was decent. Food was excellent. We sat down to find complimentary heapings of Greek pasta salad which themselves would have made a tasty meal. I ordered a smoked salmon and onion omelet, which is something I have ordered in diners across the country - Maryland, Arizona - and while this is not a dish one would expect to vary a lot, it does. This was the best cooked version of this omelet I have ever had - fresh ingredients, not greasy, and the salmon was super high quality. Also, the portion was huge so, after all that pasta salad, I had to take most of it to go. Everyone else seemed really happy with their food, too. My fiance got a grilled chicken sandwich that he said was excellent and also had to take much of his to go. At a table of 11 people there wasn't a single complaint. Raving all around. If there was one thing I'd skip, it was the desert. We split a few deserts around the table - an apple pie and some chocolate concoction. I didn't love them, thought the crust was too dry. I think these suffered from being in the fridge. But otherwise, a solid solid meal and I wish I could take this place back to DC with me because it puts our diners to shame. read more

Diner Back in NY and had to have the diner experience as they really do not have them in the part of the world I currently live in (except for chains like Denny's). We hit this place for breakfast and they delivered. Coffee was on the table in moments after my butt hit the seat and the waitress was happy to explain some of the items to be dining partner. Coffee was good and hot but a little thin - I tend to like my coffee with more body but it is what it is. Food came out in short order and the portions were definitely large enough that it made them pretty hard to finish. Hash browns were cooked as requested as was the bacon. Rye toast was right on the money and the omelette was good- all in all a very good brekkie. The only downside was that the booth we had was pretty tight - considering neither of us were like massively overweight we thought it odd- can't imagine how a bigger person would fit in it - I would definitely ask for a table next time. Food was pretty awful. In the mood for something healthy we ordered a turkey burger and mashed potatoes. The turkey burger was fatty, greasy, and dripping with juice (would not call this a 'healthy' option). The mashed potatoes were like soup and tasted like pure salt and butter. It's a big menu so maybe other items are better but this wasn't a good experience. Place gets a star for being clean and a second star for chicken tenders which I'd rate as "ok". read more

Note: did not see the big ramp as it was on other side along with handicap parking, and steps were used. (see pix) Gardens kept up nicely. I live in Bay Shore and consistently make the 30 minute drive to this dinner for the waiter Pepino. Pepino is so kind and attentive to his customers. DONT TIP!...if you pay by credit card don't leave a tip..the delivery person left the food outside in the winter saying he rang the doorbell which we don't have and the food was cold after sitting out there...pay cash on delivery that way they will actually deliver it instead of being lazy. Some of our favorites are the French onion soup, Philly cheese steak, French dip, burgers, and pancakes. Milk shakes are pretty good too lol. Diner itself is pretty large and you usually don't have to wait to sit. We have also done takeout/Doordash from this diner and the food is always hot and fresh. This place was spot on for me!!! I came here from Mineola to meet my friend in his home town and Massapequa Diner was his choice for breakfast. This was a good choice. Not far from the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway and an easy in and out from their large parking lot. I was pleased to see that everyone was respectful of the times and entered the side tent with their masks on until they sat down. The service team obviously never took their masks off. Waiter was at our table in seconds and brought water and coffee. While my friend and I caught up the waiter stopped by a few times to make sure everything was ok and if we were ready to order. So... after making the big decision, I came up with two eggs over easy on well done corned beef hash and potatoes. My friend went with the healthy choice and had the vegetable omelette. (Make sure you see the picts.) My friend, being a regular was cordially greeted by other members of the staff. Funny how you can tell who people are under the mask... Not me! My breakfast was perfect. Actually better, they make their own hash which was delicious along with the home fry potatoes. My buddy, being a regular told me he enjoys all their dishes. I will definitely be back for a dinner one evening as I am always looking for a fun and good dining experience. I HAVE TO SAY that I don't understand the negative reviews. We come here pretty often because my toddlers love their pancakes and their food is pretty good. We always feel welcomed and the service there is always great. I took off a star because it's always wayy too warm in there. Today I couldn't even finish my food or drink my hot coffee because I was dripping in sweat. I had to ask for a to go cup with ice for my coffee. I took off another star because the high chairs are often very sticky feeling and so was the table. I hope they fix these two issues but overall a great diner! read more

I went here with my grandma and aunt after a nice day at a Christmas thing. We stopped here instead of Freindlys and we regretted it. We had this waiter who wasn't nice. First he didn't interact with us one bit. Only when we ordered not once else. He also was laughing and joking around with all of his other tables except us. Really. And it wasn't nice. Here is the worst thing. I waned a milkshake and I ordered a shake. Then he said "oh we're out. Get something else hurry up." My grandma looked at him like really dude he's a kid... I orders a coke and I said " get me a coke." Then I see the table that got there after us laughing with this guy and joking. Then before even getting our drinks he takes there order and comes out with that kids MILK SHAKE. I'm like " grandma look he has a milkshake!" She called him over but acted like he didn't hear us. I was like "" Then he orders their food without taking ours and without our drinks and they came after us. Then our food came out cold and everyone was annoyed. I came here lots before too.
