We went during Chicago restaurant week and went with the special menu for the week. My favorites were the hummus, falafel, chocolate banana turmeric dessert and morrocan lamb. My husband, 11 month old and I went to Cira tonight for dinner and it was a great experience. We ordered 6 dishes total and 4 glasses of wine our total was $155. The food was amazing! The manti, and lamb tagine were our favorite. Our server Monique made us feel so special , the manager also stoped by our table to check in. Super impressed with this place. I thought it would your typical upscale Mediterranean place which your normal dishes... but this restaurant is definitely unique. Each dish we got had such a creative flavor explosion. I highly recommend the pistachio ravioli. The rock shrimp pasta dish was also good, more on the savory style. DELICIOUS! We were a large party and were seated next to the kitchen. The hummus was fabulous because they garnished it so nicely so it had so many different flavors and was better than just plain old boring hummus. The falafel is super crunchy on the outside and super soft on the inside. It was very tasty. Their salads are very very tasty. Spinach ravioli with pistachio fantastic and very rich in flavor. Came here for dinner a on a Friday night. I had reservations and had to change not only the amount of people (add 2) and then later the time (later in the evening.) On both occasions that I called staff was very helpful and kind with my changes and I really appreciated that. When we arrived for my wife's birthday for our party of six we were seated at their kitchen table and had menus that said happy birthday on them. Both of those were very nice touches. We ate and drank like gluttons and not only was the food phenomenal... I think we may have had everything on the menu. The bill at the end of the night was very reasonable. I will certainly be back for dinner for just the wife and I and will also use this as a go to for when I have people in town. Thanks for a great night! read more

Simply amazing! We ordered the olives (with an incredible lavender honey sauce), quail, pickled veggies (the fennel makes the difference), pistachio ravioli, hummus, smoked mackerel with crackers, and the razor clams. Everything was delectable. The ambiance is casual and modern, with dark lighting. We also ordered the chocolate creme brûlée and the honey dessert. We loved both of them and will likely be back! I went to #Cira the other night and shared great company while eating good food. The meal was selected and served family-style. I can't remember all that we had, but I #yelped the restaurant and decided earlier that I would order lamb. No lamb was served, but they did serve the dry aged ribeye and a salmon with skin so crisp it crunched like Lay's potato chips. We also had a white fish that was sliced so thin it looked like rice paper...it was DELICIOUS...and I don't know what it was!!! There was also a fish dip that I couldn't turn away with hearty chunks of mackerel!! I tried my hand at the classic Manhattan, but couldn't bring myself to finish it. I am not a drinker and anything that warms your chest is too grown a drink for me...water please! The host was gracious enough to order ME the brown butter humus, another dish I really wanted to try...unfortunately, everyone else at the table thought it was phenomenal as well and I only got a spoonful. I wasn't disappointed although I really wanted to try the Manti (lamb dumplings) or the lamb tagine. I noticed a waitress with a beautiful smile and a "I LAMB button. I wondered if she would give it to me! She did! Dessert wasn't my favorite. Although, according to #FoodNetwork, dessert doesn't have to be sweet, l prefer my desserts sweet. There were notes of basil,thyme, and cardamom that I just couldn't appreciate! I will visit Cira again, have the brown butter humus and lamb, and enjoy a drink more suitable for a lightweight!! Visited Cira on a Tuesday evening. Valet since parking can be tricky at times and it was raining. The place is absolutely gorgeous, especially by the bar area with high ceilings. We were seated away from the bar (bummer) which was nice but I stared at the gorgeous high ceilings with envy. We ordered brown butter hummus, octopus, and pistachio ravioli. All was delicious! The octopus was tender and so fresh, the humus was tasty, and the pistachio ravioli was to die for. Service was excellent and the wine list was pretty good. The hash was a bit of a mess for me, solid but not much food, mostly 2 big eggs and very little duck confit. Good prices overall. My biggest disappointment is that most of the dishes I wanted to try are on the shareable menu and that requires the whole table and is too expensive. I had Turkey Breakfast, my partner had pancake. They were amazing! My partner hates yogurt. She doesn't like the milky smell from yogurt. However, the yogurt in that Turkey Breakfast, she loves it! That was super surprise for me! Pancake, hmmm... Don't blame me, I'm from NYC. I've had different kinds of fluffy, thick Japanese type of pancake before. Always on the hunt for new places, this was a yelp recommendation sent to me. Came early wasn't much of a crowd, but by 9a the people were piling in. I'm on Keto so I could only eat bacon (seemed old, thick white grease was already accumulated, sent it back the second order came over-cooked...I just settled). Ordered a coffee too, and since I couldn't use creamer I was excited to have tasted Oat Milk, plant based non-dairy item made my coffee drinkable (can't drink it black). My friend ordered the Americana Breakfast, overall she enjoyed it. The ambiance was nice and so was Sam, although this is her last week working here (A+ for great conversation). It may seem crazy, but I'm obsessed with bathrooms, it's nice but the Blank 'Wood' scented hand soap is amazing, esp for an individual that can't tolerate fragrances. The food was amazing. The pastas were particularly delicious and the amatriciana was a highlight of all pasta dishes on the menu. The half chicken was simple but yet perfectly cooked and with crispy skin and a side of red cabbage. Our particular server was fantastic but overall the service staff need to pay mind to customers overhearing them talk negatively about other staff and servers. It doesn't reflect well on an otherwise strong dining establishment. It makes me feel that they still need to work out the service and team kinks even though Cira has been open since April. read more

Just amazing! I would totally rate it as the best affordable restaurant of the year. You have to try the big plate/platter, every single dip was so tasty! Great environment for a weekend dinner. We ordered the shared appetizer plate, which was pretty good. It had a nice variety of dips. My friends ordered the pistachio raviolis and liked it but it was a small portion. I ordered the lamb which had a nice flavor but it was a bit dry. The service was good. We couldn't decided between two desserts, ended up choosing the chocolate one and our waiter ended up bringing the two desserts anyway (the second one was complementary). Wow! Loved the vibe in this restaurant. Portions are very small so something to keep in mind when ordering. For starters, we had the falafel which in my opinion was WAY overpriced but they were still delicious. Then we ordered the Cacio Pepe and dumplings and the pistachio ravioli! I would highly recommend the Cacio Pepe, it was delicious! For dinner I had the lamb, which was so flavorful. The bread is made there fresh and was to die for that came with the lamb entree! Outstanding. Everything about this place reeks of excellence! We tried the avocado toast and and grain bowl both were excellent. We sat at the bar and tried the old fashioned and harvest moon cocktails. Both were very good-the Harvest Moon is a perfect tequila blanco drink and very refreshing.
