Had a great girl dinner with some friends at Cira on a Friday night. The crowd was really chill and the vibe was 30s and 40s. What I liked is that the DJ was spinning some good music and the drinks were flowing. On this occasion, I had a really good spicy Margarita and I also had a Hugo spritz. That paired really well with the cheeseburger and french fries. Cheeseburger is on lunch menu. For the table, some of my friends also ordered the hummus which was really good and another favorite was the baba ghanoush. All in all it was a very nice dinner and I would definitely come hang out, but I get this establishment if I was in the Fulton market area
Went to Cira for brunch! We ordered a good variety of options from the pick 3 pastries, to the breakfast sandwich. Overall, taste of food was good, but nothing spectacular. Located inside of the Hoxton Hotel, the ambiance was very upscale and the high ceilings helped with the acoustics. Service was great and our waiter provided lots of information to help our table order. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Cira. I would recommend checking it out!
Beautiful atmosphere, decent food, outstanding service. this restaurant is located on the first floor of a hotel. it has a really nice atmosphere -- rustic, open, bright, with comfortable couches and a bar. i ordered the shakshuka with chicken sausage on the side -- a bit salty, bread was good, but flavorful! my friend ordered the mortadella breakfast sandwich but she doesn't eat pork so they offered to replace it with avocado. she didn't end up liking the sandwich because she didn't like avocado, but the waiter noticed she wasn't a huge fan and totally took it off our bill entirely without even questioning or asking us. that was a really nice gesture! overall i'd say the food is decent, but the service and atmosphere were absolutely phenomenal and stood out to me. i'd come again to try more dishes and sit in the nice space , but i do not expect to be blown away by the food.
Came here for breakfast and was greeted and seated right away. The restaurant is located on the first floor of the Hoxton hotel. I liked that the menu had lots of healthy options like avocado toast. I ended up getting the avocado toast with a side of 2 poached eggs. My breakfast came out pretty quickly and came out exactly as ordered. Tasty, filling, and healthy. A bit on the pricier side given they're nothing too special or inventive, but honestly I was just looking for something simple. Service was prompt and professional. TLDR; very solid breakfast spot if you want "basic" healthy breakfast options.
Came here right after brunch and honestly had such a good experience overall. We sat at the bar, which ended up being one of my favorite parts because the bartenders were super nice at the beginning and made the whole vibe feel really welcoming and relaxed. We ordered the Crispy Falafel with garlic yogurt, seasonal pickles, and lemon oil, and I was actually obsessed with it. I've never had falafel before, so I didn't totally know what to expect, but it was absolutely delicious. The garlic yogurt added such a good flavor to everything and tied it all together perfectly. My only tiny complaint is that I wish there had been a little more of the yogurt because it was that good. For drinks, I got the Tequila Sunset with tequila, saffron liqueur, orange, grenadine, and lime, plus a mimosa, and both were amazing. Super refreshing and perfect for a brunch into afternoon drinks kind of day. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that the service towards the end wasn't the best, but honestly, it still didn't ruin the experience for us. The food, drinks, and overall atmosphere still made it a really fun spot, and somewhere I'd definitely go back to again.
Very yummy and the service was great! It did take 15 minutes to actually be sat for my reservation but happily there was a lounge area to sit and relax prior. All of the food was delicious! The ambiance was lovely as well
Went to grab brunch. Enjoyed the experience. I just didnt like the number of dogs I saw at the front area. I had the cream cheese stuffed blintzes, maple sausage, and emperor elixir. I enjoyed it. Cute spot. Service was good.
Beautiful restaurant located inside the Hoxton Hotel in Chicago, and the space itself sets the tone right away. The atmosphere is lively yet intimate, perfect for a date night or a special dinner without feeling stuffy or overly formal. Service was great - attentive without being intrusive, and our server checked in just enough to make sure everything was going well. Hummus: 9/10 Not much to say other than it was incredible. Smooth and flavourful Falafel: 9/10 Perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It was paired with pickled ginger and carrots, which complemented the saltiness of the falafel beautifully and added a nice brightness. Lamb Kofta: 9/10 So much depth of flavor with a great texture. Somewhat firm but not dry with a nice bounciness that made it really enjoyable to eat. Pistachio Ravioli: 10/10 my favourite dish of the night. The ravioli was cooked al dente with just the right amount of filling and paired with an orange blossom sauce that surprisingly worked perfectly with the nuttiness of the pistachio. Steak Skewers: 8.5/10 Cooked to perfection and incredibly tender. The beans served alongside were amazing as well. My only complaint is that the steak was slightly lacking in flavour, it could have used a sauce to elevate it but it was still excellent on its own. Lamb Chops: 9/10 Perfectly cooked and packed with flavour. Came with a lamb sausage spanakopita that was delicious. My only disappointment was that there were just two small chops. Rice Pudding Brulee: 7/10 Not bad. I'm not a big dessert person in general, but this was decent. Not too sweet, and the texture of the rice was really well done. Salted Tahini Ice Cream: 7.5/10 A mild, nutty flavor that was unique and interesting.
We dined here recently as a group of eight for a milestone birthday celebration. It was a very good meal in a lively but noisy atmosphere. Since we were a larger party with a variety of dietary preferences and restrictions, we had the opportunity to try a broad range of their offerings. There were some hits and a few misses, but in the end everyone came away quite happy. Appetizers: Hummus - fairly standard, topped with a pumpkin seed relish and served with pita. Baba ganoush - flavor was a little understated, could have used a little more spice. Seared octopus - tender and flavorful with a delicious za'atar relish; one of the favorites of the evening Mushroom skewer - I didn't personally try this (the vegetarians among us finished this off), but it was well-liked by those who ate it Pastas: Squash mezzaluna - cooked in brown butter and served with an agrodolce sauce, this was really excellent. Good thing we got two orders of this. Pistachio ravioli - orange butter saffron sauce topped with garlic bread crumbs, this was another favorite of the table. Mains: Grilled dorade - cooked with the skin on and topped with panzanella and a caper relish, this was one of my favorites but it was less well-received by others. The fish was well-prepared and moist. Chicken confit - prepared with a pepper and mushroom cacciatore, this was a miss for most of us. The tomato-based sauce just didn't seem to work, and it was hard to get the chicken off the bones in a clean manner. Tuscan steak skewers - we asked for medium rare but they came out medium, but it was still tender and flavorful. This was served on a bed of beans that looked odd but worked well. Desserts: Apple mille-feuille cake - caramel and mascarpone and thinly sliced apples; really very good Baklava with berry compote - it seemed like a good idea, but in the end it just didn't work. The baklava rolls were a little dry and hard to cut as well. Service was excellent. It is very loud in here and it's hard to have a conversation with anyone who isn't seated right next to you. The restaurant has also bought into the trend of keeping the lights at a very low level, which I guess is done for ambience but sometimes it would be nice to be able to see your food a little better.
5 Stars for a beautiful dining area and lounge, fantastic breakfast, and kind service. We arrived for brunch (without a reservation) on a Saturday and were excited to see they had room. The hostess took us over to the main dining area (there's also a lounge area closer to the entrance that looks like a lovely place to hand for drinks and bites). Shah was our server and he helped us pick the fluffy pancakes, the shakshuka, and crispy breakfast potatoes. All three were perfect. The shakshuka had a bold, rich, and deep flavor. The spices in this really shone and we were grateful for the crusty toast served alongside. The pancakes were such a delight!! Fluffy and almost like little soufflés! The compote and syrup gave us a perfect tangy/sweet combo and the side of crispy potatoes gave me the crunch and salt I desired. We were thankful for Shah's guidance and loved chatting with the chef who also stopped by. Overall, a definite repeat-worthy spot!
Super impressed with this spot. The ambience was an EASY 5 stars: massive restaurant and beautiful decor and natural lighting. We came for dinner after drinks at lazy bird downstairs. We ordered wine, which was excellent and falafel and bruschetta to start. Very fresh and good flavor. We ordered gnocchi for the main and it was pretty good but not the star of the show. Would def come back to try more of their well balanced menu!!
Came here for breakfast! Coffee was pretty decent but loved the avocado toast! Probably one of the best I've had in a while and the potatoes were perfection. Had some bacon on the side too but it's pretty standard. The space is so open and very much giving West Loop vibes.
This place gets really busy on a Friday or Saturday night. It takes a while to order at the bar and I wouldn't blame the bartenders but some of them just plainly ignore you and go to the person who come after us. The drinks were alright got their tequila sunrise and it was so bad. Ambiance and music is Great and it seems like it's first come first serve for seats after a certain time. There's a photo booth around the corner and lazy bird right downstairs.
Reviews are largely positive. Many highlight the beautiful ambiance, attentive service, and creative Mediterranean dishes. Drinks are also well-crafted.

A small group of us went to Cira on a busy Sunday morning for a birthday brunch and had a fantastic time. Even with the space packed to the brim, they had awesome service that was very quick. It was the last day of Chicago Restaurant Week so we did the $25 Restaurant Week brunch menu. First course was the cheddar Za'atar biscuit and second course was the shakshuka. I asked for an iced caramel latte (not on menu) and their version tasted fantastic. We ordered a mix of the challah French toast, mortadella breakfast sandwich, and the Tasso ham Benedict for the third course, all were great options. They even brought a sweet birthday dessert for both of us who were celebrating it for the brunch. Would definitely come back again to try the rest of the menu. read more

This restaurant is gorgeous! The whole hotel is gorgeous honestly. Came here for CRW and loved everything! A great deal for $25. The biscuits were great and the ham benedict was very flavorful. Our waiter was a gem despite how busy the restaurant was. There was a live DJ who was amazing! Would love to come grab a coffee here and even check out the rooftop restaurant. read more

Came for restaurant week and was super excited because I had only had good things! Ultimately disappointed with the food we got. The meal started strong, they gave all the snacks and first course items to the table to share. The portions were great for the two of us. The crispy panisse fries were in fact not crunchy, very cold and under seasoned. In the our next course, my entree of the grilled octopus was almost inedible. The octopus felt undercooked and was extremely fishy and difficult to eat. The rest of the plate was so over salted it felt like eating sea water. My friend did like the grilled piri chicken thigh, it was spicy and probably the only good item we had. The dessert also came out extremely salty and my friend needed to ask for a knife to be able to cut through the ganache. Looking back at the menu to read the descriptions if what we ordered has me questioning the dessert we actually had, because the flavor profiles do not match at all. Really the only redeeming qualities are the ambiance and the drinks. Even our service felt slow, we didn't receive our entree for entirely too long after our first course, although our service was nice when we did see her. read more

Went to Cira for restauarant week. Loved the ambiance and was pleased with the vegetarian options available (Rigatoni Amatriciana not vegetarian). The dates had a spicy pistachio sauce that was super unique and the falafel came in a really flavorful yogurt sauce. Would go again! read more
Great place for team dinner. - hummus: flavorful. Everyone loved it. Served with fluffy pita - dates: very rich flavor. Multiple exotic spices used yet go along altogether - mushroom pasta: my favorite. The mushroom has a strong flavor - pistachio ravioli: so so. The sauce was too sweet - steak: great - piri piri chicken: great. Would love it even more if it was spicier read more

Ambiance: 5/5 We came in as a group of six and they sat us in the semi-private area, so we could hear eachother really well. It's a super lively feel because you walk in past a busy bar and then to the restaurant area which has pretty trendy furnishings and a bustling kitchen you can peep in the back. Service: Our server was super friendly & helpful. They will let you order cocktails from lazy bird as well which is awesome. Food: We ordered a few different appetizers including a hummus and burrata which was amazing. The star dish - my favorite dish probably in west loop - is a pistachio ravioli - the night we went this wasn't available, so I ordered some beef tips instead. The beef was pretty hit or miss - one or two pieces were amazing and one or two others were kinda dry. Our desserts were good but not really out of this world. Cocktails - everyone ordered something different and all were really well made. read more

My first Chicago restaurant review--appropriately in response to 2023 Chicago Restaurant Week. I was lucky enough to go to Cira on a Friday night, a reservation I had been looking forward to for weeks. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous, but was definitely hard to hear each other during our 8:30 reservation as the music was loud and the bar adjacent to the seating area was packed. The Cira restaurant menu was advertised as a 4 course prix fixe. 1: The goat cheese stuffed dates were the first course, and I would give them a 4/5. These were supposed to be warm, but were nearly cold by the time they got to us. We each only got one, which was kind of a small appetizer. Would consider as a tasty amuse-bouche, but not a course. 2: Next, I got the burrata, while my date got the brown butter hummus. Our friends got the prawns (head on!) and the escarole salad. The burrata was good, but could've used more seasoning. The brown butter was most definitely the star--even a pickier eater would love it. 3: For my main, I had the Kofta meatballs, which came in a tomato sauce with feta and pita. It was good, but not life changing. It was definitely a comforting meal and their pita is a 10/10. 4: Finally, for dessert, I got the citrus pavlova, while everyone else got the chocolate ganache tart. While they raved about how delicious the chocolate tart was, I was not as happy with the citrus pavlova. The citrus aspect was delicious, but the white chocolate aspect was overly sweet and tasted a little artificial. Overall, was the food alone worth the price tag? Not really. Would I go back to Cira for drinks and the hummus again? Absolutely. A great experience that I'm thankful I had the opportunity to try, but the food just did not meet the bar that my experience at Aba a few months earlier had set. If you want a great atmosphere AND great food, I'd highly recommend Aba a few blocks away. read more

**Vegetarian Friendly** This place is a hidden underrated spot in West Loop, located inside the lobby of the Hoxton Hotel. Great decor, ambience, and checks all of your boxes for a night out. I love that they have larger family style tables for larger groups. Order: - Appetizer: (1) Mezze Platter - Entree: (1) Pistachio Ravioli, and (2) Goat Cheese Filled Francobolli - Dessert: (1) Warm Pistachio Cookie, and (2) Peach & Cream Everything on the Mezze Platter was delicious. Such unique flavors in each item, that you couldn't get enough. On top of that, it is the best priced item on the appetizer menu. We got everything we wanted to eat. One platter is easily shareable between 2-3 people. The Pistachio Ravioli was the reason why we chose this restaurant. IT truly melted in your mouth, and was absolutely phenomenal. The desserts were good, but "okay" compared to the other dishes. The desserts were overly sweet (for us at least) so a few bites will go a long way. The Peaches and Cream is a seasonal item, so can't wait to see what comes later in the year! Our waiter, David, was absolutely fantastic in making cocktail and menu recommendations. He was very friendly, and took excellent care of us. I will absolutely be back. read more

Neeketa - We truly appreciate you taking time to share this feedback…
Cora was a wonderful vibe. Located in the bustling Fulton Market area so you know they'll bring it, to survive the surrounding competition. The food was tasty and flavorful. We had the hummus as a starter which lacked a bit of flavor but worked really well with the rest of the menu. Even though the place nearly packed by the time we got there, service didn't disappoint. It was an overall a pleasurable experience. read more
My boyfriend and I headed to Cira for some drinks before dinner while we were staying at the Hoxton. The lobby bar is beautiful and has many wonderful touches from the furniture to the art. Reservations are recommended as the space isn't huge. Staff did a good job of keeping people distanced, and they were taking temperatures as people arrived. The cozy seating options are varied and we were comfortable at our table near the bar. We only got drinks, but our server was helpful in choosing options after finding out what we like. I started with the Persephone's Descent and my boyfriend got the old fashioned. The Persephone's Descent was interesting and delicious with fruit flavors. The old fashioned was a strong classic done well. The red velvet was beautiful and piney with the gin. I finished the evening with Neptune's Moon which I really enjoyed. Note that they close at 8 pm on Sundays so their last call for drinks and food came quicker than we expected. You can always move upstairs to Cabra for later evening options. We didn't get any food but would definitely try it in the future! read more

We came on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. Had a reservation and got seated quickly. The restaurant was filled with people who appeared to be on work/company lunches, groups with laptops etc. the big windows makes the restaurant bright with natural lighting but I could see it being extremely dark after the sun sets. Within two minutes of being seated the waiter came to take our order which we weren't ready and then didn't stop back at our table to take our order for another 25 minutes. There were only what appeared to be two servers, three busboys, a manager, and hostess working. Probably understaffed but there were plenty of times the waiter just overlooked our table. The rest of our meal the waiter only came by once while the rest of the service staff were the ones to deliver our plates. With the starters we got the hummus and escarole. The hummus was delicious but could've used like two extra pieces of pita to finish of the hummus. The escarole overall was pretty bitter and could've used more apples or a stronger citrus to balance the flavor. For the main entree we ordered the lamb sausage bowl and dorade filet. First of all the bowl: who thought plating a brown sausage in a spiral would look appetizing?? But flavor wise it had a lot of good flavors but could've used some more rice to balance out the saltiness in literally everything on the plate. The sausage was seasoned well and there were also pickled veggies. Those mixed with the curry on the plate, definitely needed more rice to balance the salt. The fish was really fresh and light tasting and had good flavors but the dish overall was just fish. Feel like it could've used a carb or even a bit of side veggies, cause literally all you were eating was fish. Got a side of fries and can't really go wrong there. Tried both desserts in the restaurant week menu and they were both good. No complaints. Overall the restaurant wasn't bad but nothing that draws me to return. read more

We went there for brunch on a Saturday. Their french toast is so soft with orange marmalade adding fresh flavor to it. The falafel burger was excellent. I was expecting it to be a little dry but to my surprise it wasn't. Well marinated carrots with soft falafel was a treat. The service was amazing and prompt with very nice vibe of the place. It is right next to the train station but still you will not hear any of the sound from outside. read more

Really gorgeous spot in the Hoxton Hotel. I've only come by in the evening and seen it packed so it was really calm and nice for brunch on Saturday with only a few tables occupied. They are very serious but pleasant about the covid precautions and take your temperature before entering. The drinks were great- highly recommend their Bloody Mary. Service was excellent. The food felt a little overpriced but it was fairly tasty and filling and I suppose you're paying for the ambiance. Also wish the brunch menu had a few more options but may have been due to COVID. A lot of good vegetarian options though. read more

If you try to make a reservation via OpenTable, they require a credit card to make the reservation. You can try walking in and see if you can get seated. Ordered: - Pistachio Ravioli w/saffron orange butter and breadcrumbs: WOW, this was just amazing!! I haven't had anything like this ever. Cleaned the plate - make sure to get some bread so you can soak the sauce in it - Whipped Feta w/green harissa, poblano, house-made focaccia: delish! Parking: street parking read more

Really cute restaurant in the thick of Fulton Market and a quick walk from the river. Only complaint was the Market Fish plate was super small, but we were splitting so it was totally fine -- if this is what you are thinking about ordering, think again because you will be hungry. Drinks were great, service was good and fast and helpful to make sure we didn't miss our train! read more
Get the chocolate cake! I could drop the microphone now and leave it at that because nothing else really matters, but I will continue anyways. The atmosphere feels exactly like Beatrix and I wonder if it doesn't have the same ownership?? There were some service issues, for example, our reservation was at 5:00 yet the restaurant was 30 minutes late to open so we didn't get seated until 5:30. They also charge a 3% service fee for health & safety. Somehow that didn't make me feel any safer. However, the manager came around frequently to make sure we were being taken care of and that was much appreciated. The food was very good - but the chocolate cake is like a Willy Wonka fantasy for adults. Fantasmagorical. read more

I went to Cira during restaurant week for dinner, and had a great time. The $55 menu included 4 courses, The first course was marinated olives and stuffed dates for the table. I didn't really care for the olive, but that saltiness of the goat cheeses paired really well with the sweetness of the dates. For the second course I has the crispy falafel. I really love falafel so I was really excited for this course. Unfortunately, the falafel was burnt. My friend also got the falafel and hers was bunt as well. But the pickled carrots were really tasty. For my third course I had the Grilled Dorade Filet. It was very light and flavorful. The piri piri sauce gave the dish a bit of heat that went well with the lemon. For the fourth course I had the Brown Butter Carmel Tart. For me this dish was a little too sweet I could only have a couple of bites. But my friends that got this dish loved it. I highly recommend Cira for restaurant week! My family and I visited Cira for dinner to celebrate my parent's anniversary. I'll start by saying the interior is beautiful and the service was excellent! The menu has a decent number of vegetarian options compared to most restaurants in the city so we were excited to come here. We ordered the whipped feta dip, brown butter hummus, stuffed warm dates, malfadine mushroom Bolognese, and pistachio ravioli. Our favorites were the whipped feta and pistachio ravioli. Unfortunately, we all thought the mushroom bolognese lacked flavor big time. Overall, we felt most of the food lacked flavor. Our experience was okay but none of us felt we had a good, satisfying meal. After walking in and while glancing at the menu before hand, we had high hopes for the food and we definitely felt like we were let down. I would recommend Cira to grab drinks or for a light bite but not for a meal. read more

I came here for dinner with a friend right at opening and WOW it was already packed and LOUD. The visual ambiance is beautiful, but it's definitely not a quiet dining experience. All of the food was incredible. We shared plates of falafel, stuffed dates, muhammara, and the piri piri fish. I truly have no complaints about the food. It was consistently good across the board. Everything on the plate paired perfectly. The customer service was a little awkward, though. The waitress asked if we wanted a box for some leftover dip before we even got our entree, so we had this giant takeout box on our tiny table while trying to manage the other plates. She also brought separate plates and silverware for the final entree, but not before she took my current set, even though there was still food on the table to eat (am I supposed to eat sticky dates with my hands?). If they were trying to be efficient, it turned out to be the opposite, imo. Overall, I'd happily come here again to try their brunch menu and other dishes. But the ambiance and overall experience wasn't what it could be. read more

I was debating between 4 and 5 so would say 4.5 stars. Negative for being kind of dark and a little loud - but this is personal preference. We are vegetarian and their vegetarian options did not disappoint. We had probably one of the best servers at a restaurant I've had in a long time - Meridteth. Favorite dishes were the ravioli, Cira butter and warm pita, and Caico Pepe pasta. I liked stuffed dates too not enjoyed by my wife. Favorite drink was a mezcal cocktail (created by bartender Katie). We usually do not get dessert but did get it here - dark chocolate tart with scoop of ice cream. My wife liked a mock tail "dainty doe" Would definitely return read more

Overall, would rate my experience a 3.5. I came for brunch with a party of 9 people. Tried calling and was impossible to get someone on the phone after calling multiple days. If you need to make a reservation for a large party EMAIL THEM!! Very quick response. When we arrived service was subpar. Came on a Sunday during brunch and it was busy so didn't mind too much but it was kind of frustrating to not get water for 10 minutes and then have to wait another 10 minutes to flag someone down to get our server. Server never showed up and they had to get someone else to take our orders. Weird experience where we only ordered 1 order, they gave us 2, then charged us for 2 of the order and when I asked them to remove it they said "I should have received 2". Yes I did, but we didn't order it so it should be taken off and they were a bit hesitant. Food was good! Portions and prices were fair. I got the shakshuka and that was very good. Unfortunately one of my friends got the burger and it was undercooked and had raw parts. :( we did not get drinks. Interior is super cute. Just be careful if you sit facing the street bc the sun comes through and blinds you. I wore sunglasses while sitting there. Overall, had an alright experience. Service was iffy, but not complaining too much. Food was good. read more
