This is definitely NOT the place to get a Cinnabon experience. I've had better rolls from the Pillsbury Cinnabon Rolls you can get in any local grocery store. Granted this is not JUST a Cinnabon, it is first and foremost a Schlotzsky's, so I guess we can give them a little leeway, but I was just so disappointed with the service and the lack of cleanliness of the shop.
You walk in and you are [not] greeted by the staff at the counter. The Cinnabons are out front and look and smell quite good, but the smell is not overwhelming like I am used to. Again, with it being not JUST a Cinnabon, that is understandable. However when you walk into the main area away from the door you are sticking to the floor. Like front row of the movie theater after a Disney movie sticky. My shoe was staying on the floor and my feet were slipping out (granted my shoes are a little warn and aren't as sturdy as they used to be, so my feet slip out easier than if the shoe had been newer).
I was waiting to meet with friends, so I ducked into the bathroom before I ordered. The stickiness continued into the ladies room. Thankfully it only seemed to be the floor was sticky, but the soap dispenser was empty, and the towels were nearly so. This WAS a Saturday afternoon, but I was one of two people in the shop at the time, and there was a full staff just ignoring the patrons behind the counter.
Came back out, friends were there, and so we went to order. The young man who waited on us could not have acted more bored. He frequently ignored us while talking with his coworkers, who were all apparently on break at the same time as they were hitting the fountain drinks pretty hard. Anyway, he spoke incredibly quietly and so flippantly that it was quite confusing of an order. Then he sent another girl to go up and take payment and she was thoroughly confused as well.
I had one of the mini rolls, one friend had the cup of cinnabits (whatever they're called), and another had the minibon topped with pecans and caramel. Mine was not baked through, the cup was good though my friend said too sweet (like you can have TOO sweet, right?), and the pecans were covered in salt and made the bon more like a salt lick. Not the best experience, over all.
Guess I'll just stick to the one in Ted Stevens International Airport. read more
