Wiki wiki makes great malasadas. Never did I think I would fine delicious malasadas outside of Hawaii, but much to my surprise Anchorage delivers! I really like the mini malasadas best as they allow you to indulge in several before becoming overly fully. Their flavor selection is on point too. I feel in love with the malasadas from here last spring when they had a tent set up at a festival at Alyeska (do you guys remember festivals?! Lol). Since then I've picked up from other locations in Anchorage when I've seen them available. I am super excited to see them be able to finally opened a full blown storefront that operates several days a week! Nothing makes me happier than seeing a great business flourish. In addition to malasadas it looks like they sell some delicious looking cookies, and they also share the storefront with Lei's Poke Shop so you can get poke when it's available. When I went the poke wasn't available. I assume the businesses are ran separate and just share the space. The malasadas here are legit!! They're better than some I've had on Maui. Sinfully delicious! I don't know what a Masalada technically is, I going to describe it as a "Hawaiian stuffed donut". We all know donuts with filling are always the best ones right? We had quite a wait sitting in the parking lot on a Saturday afternoon awaiting those malasadas. Around 40 minutes we waited alongside a parking lot full of folks doing the same thing - so we figured we wouldn't pester them inside as long as the car next to us that ordered after us didn't get theirs first! We'll definitely order ahead as that wait was surreal. But, when they were brought out we received a profuse apology due to them being completely swamped with orders - a little humbleness goes a long way for sure. With a hefty half dozen assorted in hand we zoomed home to put on a pot of coffee and see what the fuss was all about. They were delicious. Yeasty, sweet, fluffy, and pumped full of filling. The smells of the fillings were amazingly strong! We decided to quarter each one and leave half for later and each one we cut into the lemon, the mango, raspberry, all smacked you in the face with a good real smelling fruity scent! This place is great. They have a variety of options all of them are delicious. If it's your first time here I highly recommend getting a box of the minis. Because then you can try multiple flavors one or two of their normal donuts will fill up most people. The minis are great because you can try multiple and get some great flavor combinations. I've been putting off this review because every time I go to check in while I wait for my order, I get too excited to concentrate. These donuts are that good! I love it here! These are amazing too. If you're weary of jelly filled anything, this is still the place. They serve plain donuts just covered in sugar that are so divine!!! The fillings are always good. My favorite is a tie between the lemon and the raspberry. They are so pillowy and fluffy and yeasty. The sugar on the outside is just sweet enough to offset that tang from the yeast. It's just perfect. The service here is also great. Always a smiling face and piping hot donuts. I always drive to get my order and can't wait to get home to eat them. I live about 15 minutes away, they're still always warm when we get to them. Sometimes there's a wait, but it's always worth it because you know they don't get any fresher than that. The parking here is not the best. The slant at the entrance is so steep. Other than that I've got no complaints. Very Covid-19 friendly now. All workers wear a mask and there's a different entrance for pick up orders. If you'd rather wait outside they will bring your order to you. I never had masaladas before visiting Wiki Wiki and now I'm hooked. They're doughy without being too dense with a large variety of filling options. Always fresh and not too sweet. I can't choose a favorite because they're all delicious. The donuts are best eaten fresh (as donuts always are), but these ones hold up well and taste good even after a few days. This is particularly nice given how filling (pun not intended) the regular sized donuts are in case you get more than one. Online ordering and pickup is easy. An employee will bring your order to your car once you arrive, which is convenient since the interior is small and can get crowded quickly. Customer service is warm and hospitable. The only downside is the parking lot. Parking spaces are limited and the lot is steep, which can be tricky to navigate, particularly this time of year when roads are often icy. I was so excited to provide this treat for my students. I ordered several days in advance with a prepaid order as required by the company. I drove across town during my planning hour, so that I could bring the donuts back for my class. After 15 minutes of waiting at the pick up store, the owners of that store were able to get a hold of the owners of this company, only to find out that she had canceled the order without letting anybody know. They had my phone number, my email and my payment, but didn't bother to call me, text me, or email me. That's very poor customer service. read more

Unfortunately I placed my order and paid with PayPal for delivery by DoorDash. Everything was confirmed and was already to taste those delicious looking donuts. Disaster stuck about 30 minutes later when a text msg arrived stating that DoorDash had canceled my order and I would receive an email soon to explain the problem. The card card was good and PayPal listed it as a debit with no change. A followup with DoorDash only revealed it would take a month to six weeks to get a refund posted to my account. This was March and I was trying to support the businesses during the second campaign to help them. I only hope they did get the money and that it helped them. They needed it more than I did on my diet. So I haven't pursued even though I haven't received the refund. I do not in anyway hold the business responsible and look forward to trying their donuts. Somehow I believe it was my fault as I am 73 and not the most capable at ordering for delivery. This was my second attempt and I am working at the 50% level. Dominos yes, Carr's no, Freddy's yes, this donuts shop no. So is life in the world of lockdown for survival. I may never get to shop again as I have more than my share of high risks and my age. Good Luck and support our local businesses but most importantly mask up, stand apart and stay healthy I will rate them as a 5 because it is not fair to penalize them unfairly when I may be responsible.
