The service was very weird. The person getting serving my donuts acted bothered that we came in. My 4 year old son was with me looking the donuts through the 10 year old glass display. The worker said to me, "Can you keep his hands off the glass?" $32 for a dozen donuts, and they tasted like they came from the Carrs Safeway Display and had been sitting for a day. I went in at 10am. The blueberry cake: -solid cake substance. --crunchy outer layer --soft inner layer -very light blueberry taste. Hard to tell it was actually blueberry. Lots of other donuts available. The cinnamon twist was very tasty. Good glaze, to cinnamon to donut ratio. Several filled donuts. Didn't ask if they were jelly or custard or cream. Made fresh every day. Leftovers are donated or thrown out and the end of each day. Kaladi Brother's Coffee. They have espresso drinks and a drive thru option. A couple pounds of coffee for sale in their coolers. Lots of other drinks available as well. Merchandise is also available for sale. Didn't snag a picture, but there seemed to be a patriot theme with the Donut King name. I really do love this place! Its a cute cozy spot with fresh donuts and welcoming people. The prices are great and the quality of the donuts and variety is magnifico. They offer a variety of hot and cold beverages which completes the whole deal. They have a drive thru for your convenience, handy..I know! There's also live entertainment (someone playing the piano) which is lovely in the morning. Everything about donut king warms your soul. You ain't going to find fancy, trendy donuts here. You know the kind I'm talking about. They usually are associated with the latest trends in dieting (keto, vegan, gluten free, etc.) Not that there is anything wrong with them. Like pizza, all styles of donut have their merits. But these grease-bombs are a solid representation of the classic donuts you grew up on. A co-worker brought these in, so I haven't visited this location. I can attest that these are tasty and I had to force myself to only eat one. (eating more than one donut usually makes more forehead warm up..no matter who makes them) I love all donuts with filling. So I picked one that looked the most bloated. It had a delightfully tart and tangy lemon filling. I probably wouldn't have grabbed this one if I knew that ahead of time, I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Give 'em a shot if you're up on the valley. Two dozen donuts - I asked for a mix. $65. Works out to roughly $32.50 per dozen. I opened the box and found not a single filled donut, or any specialty donut, just plain glazed and frosted. Why must I put up with lousy chain donuts (how sad is it that 7-11 now has better donuts than Dunkin Donuts), while Wasilla gets Donut King? Huge selection? Check Friendly service? Check Delicious donuts that don't leave a nasty film in your mouth? Check Open Sunday morning for my donut craving? Negative. The yeast raised were nice and pillowy, but with more chew to them than a Krispy Kreme. The group's favorite was the glazed old-fashioned though, it was nice and dense, with a slightly lemony glaze that soaked in a little bit and made it truly excellent. read more

I would give a 5 star, but the owner or manager who ever she was ruined it. I feel sorry for the workers in there. She was the most unprofessional out of everyone in there. While a worker was helping us, she started questing him about why the music wasn't on. Instead of her doing it herself or waiting until he was done. Then she made a comment, which was supposed to be a joke but seemed pretty harsh, that the last Apple fritter was hers and not to touch it or she would cut his hand off. When he didn't hear her because he was focused on the customer she then made the comment, he didn't hear me. Well of course not, he was doing his job and focusing on the customers, something she could learn. She seemed pretty hateful to some of the other employees too. Lived in the valley for 15 years and had never tried this place yet, was craving a donut so decided to stop by, arrived around 11:00am, was surprised to see no signage with donut prices or descriptions, only espresso menu. No signage in donut cases either. Not many options available at that time and customer service was apathetic at best. Donut was ok. Nothing to write home about. Delicious, light, moist donuts with wonderfully flavorful, not overly sweet fillings. I love these donuts! I won a gift certificate from a local radio station, and brought the donuts to work. I cannot eat them myself for health reasons, but man the office loved them! Last time I ate them (before I had to stop) I couldn't stop myself, and stuffed myself with 4 deliciously wonderful blueberry filled glazed bismarks. Nobody makes donuts as tenderly moist and light as these. I sure wish there was one in Palmer, because I would definitely be fattening up my co workers more often if they were on my way to work!
