This is in the airport right as you exit the TSA security for Concourse C. I got the Fall Starter which is an Italian cream soda with kind of reminds of a creamier root beer soda. It's pretty good! They also serve Krispy Kreme donuts, what could be better?! This is a cute coffee shop in the airport!

Hot tea hot water and tea bag plus tip was like $4 or more oof

Heart broken! Online it said they were open until 10 and I got there just before 9pm. They didn't have anything. Even though they weren't closed yet they had shut down their ovens so you couldn't order a big Denali pretzel because they're frozen. Super sad! I was looking forward to this pretzel before my flight. Really sad when these places close up before closing time because things are slow. I ended up getting hot tea because I felt bad wasting the staff's time since they couldn't make a pretzel for me. The tea was not good and it was super expensive. Really disappointing experience overall.

The oat milk cappuccino was excellent. It was the right weight and has excellent foam, not like the milk-laden lattes that I usually receive when i order a cappuccino.

I've been here a few times now since I'm on a rotational schedule with my job now that requires me to be at the airport pretty early. The ladies that run this coffee shop have been nothing but sweet and kind to me. I got a hot chocolate today at 'kids temp' and they handed it to me and said "wow you're a big kid!" Hahaha!! I've also tried their food and it was not bad at all. I prefer going here over the Starbucks and McDonald's in the airport! Definitely will be back here next month! PS: they sell Krispy Kreme if that's your thing and also use Kaladis coffee products and beans.

Coffee!!!! At the airport at 430 am

Great preflight 430 am breakfast stop. Good coffee. Decent breakfast veggie burrito. Glad they were open.

    Jalapeño pretzel is doughy

Horrible pretzels and coffee. Ordered the jalapeno pretzel with Jalapeno cheese. Pretzel was "doughy" and not cooked through. Cheese was the star. But the americano was burnt tasting.

I was in beautiful Anchorage and…read morewanted to grab some lunch. 49th state brewing was perfect because it wasn't far from my hotel and because it was so cold outside, I didn't want my walk to exceed 15 minutes. I was really hungry so I got there right when they opened at 11 a.m. I was able to be seated immediately and opted to sit upstairs where the tables were lower as compared to downstairs where the tables were high tops. Off the bat the food is phenomenal. For starters I got their popular handmade Bavarian pretzel. It was perfectly seasoned with butter and salt and the pretzel itself was soft and fluffy. It came with a side of cheese which was just as tasty. I was a little nervous it would taste like the melted cheese you eat at an amusement park- but this cheese had fantastic quality. One really neat thing about this brewery is they make their own fountain drinks! I tried the raspberry one and as you can see they aren't shy about the portions! The drink was really good. It had a great flavor to it, and a nice balance. The raspberry wasn't overpowering which I'm grateful for. For my entree I had the Yak burger that came with a side of tater tots. My waiter recommended I get it cooked at medium to keep it juicy. Typically I'm a medium well to well done type of girl, but I decided to trust his judgement and he was right! The burger was huge, messy, and delicious. The medium was definitely a good call. It was juicy but not so red where it would be off putting! Overall, I had a really incredible dining experience at 49th state brewing. And the prices were unbelievably reasonable. My meal came out to about $52 (not including my tip). I would love to come back when it's a bit warmer and sit outside- the views from the restaurant are phenomenal. Also, shout out to my waiter! I didn't get his name but he was so kind and the service was excellent!

I calculated our meal cost before paying and it was around $5 higher on the bill presented than what it was listed on the menu. I also was paying cash so it shouldn't have been any kind of extra card fee. I have reached out to the company, but no response yet. Depending on their response will depend on if I'm a returning customer

I've been making German family recipes forever, so I was looking forward to it. Well sigh, what a disappointment. The place is cute, but that's all about it has going for it. They weren't busy, but Holy hell was service slow. My husband got the brisket. It was tough, on the border of inedible. The schnitzel had a weird after taste. And the German mashed potatoes were... not great. My sauerkraut was the best part of my meal and that's not saying much. For me the biggest disappointment was the Rouladen, which I am highly skilled at making. I can tell they cheated in how they made it. It was not slow cooked as one item. Each item was put together after it was cooked, which is absolutely NOT how you make Rouladen. And they used yellow mustard, which is an abomination. Just NO. Nope. Can't recommend.

Midnight Sun is tucked away and a bit off the beaten path and is literally just among warehouses. I also thing it being "panini style" on focaccia bread is a mistake because the bread was crumbly and I wonder if they have it on focaccia to differentiate it from the other sandwiches *shrug* My wife loved her pork sandwich the "Sweet Cheeks". Enough to keep seeking new ones out but even then that wouldn't last too terribly long and especially if I lived there. Midnight Sun Brewing is one of the Alaskan ones I tried a while back and I felt that the beer I had was very solid and enjoyable. In fact Alaska in general thus far I have enjoyed the breweries there considerably. The beer I had from this brewery was the Panty Peeler which is a Belgian Tripel. A good beer for sure and is a good pairing with fish and chips or a burger. Flavor highlights with this beer are sweet, strong and fruity but all in a well balanced way. The beer goes down smooth and is light bodied. A good beer to start for me with this brewery. I'd loved to try more of their beer options. Love the brewery's swag and have a t-shirt or two and would love to score a hoodie that I had my eye on but it was out of stock so I'll try back later.

There's something about airports that strips things down to their bare bones transit, impatience,…read moreoverpriced mediocrity dressed up as convenience. And then, every once in a while, you stumble into a place that refuses to play that game. Silver Gulch is that place. You walk in expecting another layover trap, and instead you're handed a front-row seat to something damn near cinematic. Jets glide in like steel whales, engines humming, lights blinking against that cold Alaskan sky. You're two feet from the runway, and it feels like a million-dollar show nobody bothered to charge admission for. Now let's talk about the move the "Carry-On." Black and blue beef, jalapeño, lettuce, some kind of back-alley secret sauce that ought to be under lock and key. Wrapped up tight like it knows you've got a flight to catch. This isn't just airport food it's survival gear. You grab it, you walk, and somewhere between the terminal doors and baggage claim... it's gone. No ceremony. No leftovers. Just the memory of something that hit harder than it had any right to. That's the kind of food that doesn't need poetry but it gets it anyway. Service? Sharp. No nonsense. The kind of attentiveness that doesn't hover but somehow knows exactly when your glass is getting low. The pilsner recommended without hesitation comes in smooth, clean, no gimmicks. Brewing companies usually lock you into their lineup like it's a contract. Here, at least, you're not getting bullied by the tap list. And the room itself dark wood, rich tones, a little rugged, a little refined. It's got that quiet confidence. Not trying too hard. Not screaming for attention like the rest of the terminal circus behind you. Now sure if you're the type who wants to disappear into some tucked-away lounge like the Alaska Airlines Lounge, sip something fancy, and pretend you're not in transit, that's your play. But you'll miss it. You'll miss this the runway, the movement, the raw, mechanical poetry of people going somewhere. And that's the thing. Travel isn't always about comfort. Sometimes it's about the moment. I bounced around that airport chased a few options, sized them up, felt that familiar itch of "this ain't it." And then I landed here, sat down, took it all in and just like that, the search was over. No snobbery. No overthinking. Just calling it like it is. If you find yourself in Anchorage, standing in that airport with time to kill and hunger creeping in, do yourself a favor walk into Silver Gulch, grab a window, order the Carry-On, and watch the world take off right in front of you. Because sometimes the best part of the journey... is the place you almost overlooked.
