I've been here a few time now. Everything is solid every time. The soft serve is amazing and the staff are friendly. It's very chill and family friendly. I'd comeback again for the "Gelati" Snowball with Soft Serve.

Walked right up to the window on a weekend afternoon. I got a small cone and my husband got a kiddie cup. Perfect portions and very affordable. It was a hot day, so I had to eat quickly. No tables to eat at, so it's a take it and go or eat in your car situation. Cute little ice cream shack though!

Great place for a scoop or a snow ball. There's nothing like an old fashioned ice cream shop to make you feel good. This place has been around forever and it's a close affordable way to being a smile to your face or your kids face. There are picnic benches in the back to enjoy your frozen treat.

I'm not too sure what type of substance is used for their "ice cream" but it doesn't melt and had a spongy like consistency. . . .I noticed it the last time and again when I went last night. It also wasn't freezing cold either which really makes me wonder. I just remembered that and the reason I'm still in bed writing this is because I woke with crazy pains in my abdomen. . . . Yes, more reasons to not continue bad girl behaviors. I'm surprised too because it cost $6 for a medium dipped cone but made with cheap ingredients. Guess that's the real come up for some businesses now: over charge for cheap ingredients. I also didn't sit well with me that the ingredients weren't listed and can understand why the calories weren't also lol. I was going to choose the nonfat yogurt then I read it was sugar free and we know what that means (fake sugar) which helped me make the decision to select the regular 'ice cream". There was a crazy long line of people waiing to be served which also draws you in. Oh well, it's definitely not something I need in my body anyway. Bad girl phase over with mystery ingredients. I'm on the search for real ice cream now. If I'm going to put things in my body which aren't the healthiest for me to begin with, I at least want them to be made with real ingredients. Does that make sense to y'all? Wish me a happy hunting XOXO

A small ice cream shop in a small plaza near BWI. We stopped here late at night because it was the only place still open after 9:30pm and we were pleasantly surprised! Would come back to refresh after a long flight or Amtrak ride.

Vanilla Soft Serve with Orange Flavor Burst and Blue Raspberry Snowball

Cindy's Soft Serve is the perfect summer treat destination. I have been coming here ever since my undergraduate days and still do to this day! It's always worth stopping by for their delicious vanilla soft serve cones and snowballs. My go-to order is the vanilla soft serve with an orange flavor burst and a blue raspberry snowball. The combination of creamy vanilla is perfectly complemented by the tangy orange burst and the blue raspberry snowball is always a great refreshing choice. The quality of their soft serve is consistently excellent and I love that there are also bench areas with shade to relax and enjoy your treat. Cindy's Soft Serve offers a nostalgic summer experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for fast and kind service and a sweet, satisfying treat!

i have been going to this place for 10 plus years and i'm sadly leaving this review because the portions just don't add up and it's not like it used to be the ice cream has always been great but lately they have been getting stingy with the peanut butter mind you these 3 ice creams were about $23 and i even asked for extra peanut butter

YUM!!! Our friends took us to Cindy's Soft Serve on a Saturday afternoon. There was only one group in front of us to order. We all ordered the soft serve ice cream on a waffle cone. 3 of us got twist (chocolate and vanilla) and I just got the vanilla. Service was quick. The vanilla soft serve was very creamy and the waffle cone was not stale. I really enjoyed it and perfect for a hot day. There are a few bench tables behind and some shade.

I don't know what it is about areas going towards Baltimore but they sure do love their snowballs and soft serve. It was super nice! They had milkshakes, snowballs, soft serve, and tons of toppings. They even have tables in the back for you to sit after. There was a line but we ended up getting everything in less than 10 minutes. Support this small business before the summer ends!

I love that Cindy's is a no-frills type of place. It seems to be a community institution even though my first visit was only recently. I was in the area and decided to finally try them out. My visit was on a Sunday afternoon and much to my surprise, the line wasn't too long. I've driven by on other days and have seen how long the lines can get. I ended up ordering vanilla soft serve in a waffle cone. It was simple, yet delicious. It satisfied my craving. The staff were pretty friendly as well. They do have a few picnic tables outside if you'd like to enjoy your ice cream there.

AMAZING! Went at 9 on a weekday and there was a decent line, but moved quite fast. Great soft serve, great service, great prices, will be going again!

Wow...this was some delicious soft serve ice cream. The soft serve was creamy, delicious and full-flavored; unlike some soft serve varieties, which tastes more like ice milk. The waffle cone was fresh with a nice crunch and the chocolate-coating was good. I knew going in that they did not have any vegan options; nevertheless, I decided to give it a try. According to the menu, they have frozen yogurt but it's still dairy. The location was conveniently located near the main road in a drive-up location. The overall set up was clean. The area around the place was pristine, as was the area in the back with picnic tables. The order was taken efficiently at the order window and delivered equally as fast at the pick-up window.

Introduction to history & deciding to go there:…read more Just read an article yesterday that Crazy Mason will be closing at the end of August. I was in old town Ellicott City on Saturday, April 18 for their Springfest. The only times I end up venturing to downtown is when there's some event going on. We were meeting up with my friend & his family. My friend's brother mentioned Crazy Mason was excellent and that they were very close to the concert stage area we were. I said to my girlfriend I'd be game to try them out to split a shake. Having one by myself is a lot of sugar, so splitting is a more sensible option, not to mention less total cost. This was originally the Ellicott Theater in the 1940's & 50's. Various performing artists, discotheque, etc. had its spot. It's cool this Crazy Mason milkshake place took over this space. Unusual for anything in the ice cream category to have such a large space. I also learned that they started in Myrtle Beach. I could see why as it's a touristy beach area, which various ice cream shops and some more unique options are more common than say in Howard County, MD. Although old town Ellicott City doesn't have the level of tourism that Myrtle Beach would, they have some and of course many locals who go here. In 2024, I had a friend in town, and we drove him up to old town Ellicott City to look around. I just read they started in June 2020 during Covid. The Ellicott City location opened in 2022. It's unfortunate they only lasted 4 years as they were outstanding. My experience: The staff was friendly. We asked for recommendations. The younger guy who was taking orders & making shakes, enthusiastically made a couple of suggestions to us. We settled on the Cookie Mashup, which was a shake with chocolate chip cookie, chocolate syrup, cookie dough bites, cookies n' cream, crushed chips ahoy, crushed Oreo, vanilla buttercream, whipped icing, and [deep breath] a whole Oreo on top. We opted to get it in their souvenir Crazy Mason jar, which is in a mason jar. We sat in the many seats on a lower level with a stage in the background. We waited maybe 10 minutes as they were pretty busy on that Saturday of Springfest. Wow, this shake was outstanding! One of the best shakes I've ever had. It was some flavorful with a lot of great ingredients. We both loved it. I will say it was quite messy, but it was worth it! The price was pretty expensive, but it was an experience. And I would get again, but it's quite unlikely I'll be in old town Ellicott City between today 8/11 & the end of August when they close. We asked the older gentleman who was the cashier & giving the finished shakes if we could wrap the mess we left behind on the mason jar. He said let me give you a new clean jar, which I thought was very nice, and let us keep the used jar too wrapping both of them carefully. In summary, I wish they were staying open for much longer than the next 3 weeks as they really were great and very nice staff/owner too!

Since we had just finished lunch, we didn't want one of the huge expensive milkshakes they are known for, although they did look delicious. Instead, my friend and went for one of our favorite treats: pineapple dole whip, swirled with non-dairy vanilla ice cream (for me) and of course, topped with rainbow sprinkles. The serving was large, and our order was ready quickly. Can't go wrong with dole whip, although the non-dairy ice cream was kind of flavorless. Still delicious though. The place is huge (it used to be an old theater) with plenty of tables. There is also a small game room up front with arcade games. Lots of cute murals on the wall to help capture the moment. There were also annoying gnats flying around, so I think next time I'll eat outside, but I will definitely be back.
