Have come to Cindy's for years. A great local spot. Took the kids here for some yummy sno cones. Quick and friendly service. A good amount of picnic tables outside adds to the experience. The only negative would be that we had way too much flavored syrup on our sno cones to the point they were inedible even for my teenager and little one. I'm not too sure what type of substance is used for their "ice cream" but it doesn't melt and had a spongy like consistency. . . .I noticed it the last time and again when I went last night. It also wasn't freezing cold either which really makes me wonder. I just remembered that and the reason I'm still in bed writing this is because I woke with crazy pains in my abdomen. . . . Yes, more reasons to not continue bad girl behaviors. I'm surprised too because it cost $6 for a medium dipped cone but made with cheap ingredients. Guess that's the real come up for some businesses now: over charge for cheap ingredients. I also didn't sit well with me that the ingredients weren't listed and can understand why the calories weren't also lol. I was going to choose the nonfat yogurt then I read it was sugar free and we know what that means (fake sugar) which helped me make the decision to select the regular 'ice cream". There was a crazy long line of people waiing to be served which also draws you in. Oh well, it's definitely not something I need in my body anyway. Bad girl phase over with mystery ingredients. I'm on the search for real ice cream now. If I'm going to put things in my body which aren't the healthiest for me to begin with, I at least want them to be made with real ingredients. I am a hard ice cream gal, I love chunks of ingredients mixed within my ice cream-creating chewy bites, but when my dad visited from PA he made a special request for local soft serve ice cream, and thus began my yelp search. Stumbling upon Cindy's Soft Serve, I was delighted to learn they were right around the corner with such amazing (dedicated regulars) reviews. Their soft serve was a base of vanilla & you can add up to three flavor bursts (or they have chocolate, but it was unclear could you add flavor bursts to chocolate-if so I'd love to try this). I opted for banana & coffee n cream. I discovered it's not like hard ice cream where the coffee n cream could be scooped on the bottom & banana scooped on the top; the flavor bursts come out swirled together around the vanilla- this blended the flavors together. Overall, their vanilla is an absolutely delicious base ice cream; very rich and creamy, and I mean RICH AND CREAMY, a very bold profile compared to any other ice cream I've had (including hard). With the flavor swirls, being mixed together the banana definitely took over, leaving me very little coffee profile- though not disappointing since the banana was yummy yummy, but definitely noting for next time. I do look forward to coming back, I will be a soft serve ice cream gal for Cindy's only! P.S: easy parking, friendly staff, cash & credit offered, and there is a nice picnic table area to sit and enjoy your eats. Also, my dad ended up getting a snowball with vanilla ice cream, and again-while I'm not a snowball gal, I found myself taking multiple sample bites of his cup because the creamy vanilla ice cream had such a delicious profile along with the flavored ice.
