I hate runny ice cream and this was the complete opposite. It was chewy and showed zero signs of ice cream soup even after 5 minutes. I loved it so much I came by the next day with the kids. I ordered the exact same flavor and what I got was a soupy mess. I'm not sure what changed within 24 hours but I was so disappointed. I don't know if something went wrong with the freezers but the ice cream clearly wasn't being chilled at the right temperature. Texture aside, the flavors here are great. I'm hoping it was a fluke so I can give this place their last star.

They have cheese tea here, so my wife and I decided to give it a try. Cheese tea is a cold tea…read moredrink with foam on top that is made with cream cheese, whipping cream, and milk. It started in Taiwan, where they used powdered cheese, powdered milk, salt, and whipping cream. In China, they made a version that used real cream cheese, real milk, salt, and whipping cream. Bengong's Tea is a franchise company that originated in China in 2014. They have over 100 stores in China and plan to expand in the USA . Being a franchise means their drinks are based on standardized powders. That being said, we bought 2 drinks to see if they make milk teas as good as some claim. 1) Burnt Caramel Cheese Milk Tea It had black tea with lots of milk. The cheese foam and burnt caramel drizzle was on top. We got 50% sugar and less ice. The proper way to drink cheese tea is to sip it so you taste the foam first and then the tea flows through it. Don't use a straw. My wife hated the flavor of the milk tea. I thought the foam was interesting and the milk tea was typical except for the excessive milk powder flavor. The foam tasted like whipped cream with a hint of cream cheese. The caramel drizzle had a slightly burnt flavor and moderate sweetness. The foam and caramel were good and should be paired with a different milk tea. I don't recommend this. The milk tea is the problem here. 2) Black Rice with Taro Boba Milk Tea It had black rice tea and milk with taro boba and brown sugar boba. We got 50% sugar and no ice. The cup was full even though we got no ice. Nice! It had a modest milk flavor with a light roasted rice flavor. There were lots of brown sugar and taro boba. Not much taro flavor in the boba. Loved the brown sugar boba and the large amount! This will fix any boba craving. Overall, it was very satisfying in both the tea and boba. The store space had two businesses, Chin Xi'an Style restaurant and Bengong's Tea. When you enter the dining room, Bengong's Tea is on the left. If you order at the cash register, you'll see a sign that says, "CASH ONLY." They have an order kiosk for credit cards. There is a 15% Yelp Check-in discount that can only be used at the cash register. Beware, the overhead menu had old prices. Everything is 75 cents more. The service person might be hidden behind the counter. It looked like no one was there until we got close to the counter and looked over. There was a woman sitting low behind the register area. She was short to start with. The service was polite and quick. The dining room and restrooms were clean. They are located in the corner of Princess Shopping Center. There is plenty of free parking. Their menu had some interesting drinks, so we'll be back. This place is more of a 3-star than a 4-star rating. Since this is a first visit, I'm giving lots of leeway.

I visited a few other times in 2024-2025. A Meetup group I'm a part of likes to go here after the dinner & game Meetup. The staff is accommodating as we are rushing to get here before 10 PM closing time, really by 9:45. The organizer of the Meetup suggested ordering ahead on the app, so they aren't so slammed with 10 (or whatever #) of people 15 minutes before closing. I heeded his advice. They are efficient getting the drinks done in a timely manner. Staff is nice, and they aren't abrupt with kicking us out the second it hits 10 PM (like Starbucks the very second it's closing time, they will practically yell at you to get the heck out of there). At Gong Cha, the staff is polite about it, and we try to still rush to clean up and get out. My girlfriend & I will split the largest size for cost & calorie efficiency. Overall, a delicious boba tea. I will say it's a bit on the expensive side in 2025 even compared with some other places, but it's still a solid choice.

Passing the case with bakery goods in it before going to the register to order probably was not the best. Alas! I was pulled away to order actual brunch food. Beignets were done just right and got the "puff" when biting in to them. Had to make a stop by the bakery side to get croissants for the week. They did not disappoint. The service was nice and friendly. Both the food side and bakery side. The co-owner was there and got to spend some time speaking with him. He was very friendly! The place was very clean and dishes were carted away quickly. Lots of light, even on a rainy day, gave a very bright ambiance. Matched the personality of the employees.

I studied French in high school and have over 1400 day French streak on Duolingo so the name intrigued me. We made a takeout order at the register. Store layout seemed easy to navigate. Staff was very patient with us as we tried to figure out our order and answered our questions about the menu. I ordered some beignets and an "savory breakfast croissant" meal with egg and cheddar. My fiancé ordered some coffee and fried rice. All of this as a takeout order. The food was taking a while (which is fine because I expected home cooked quality meal but it seemed really slow in the kitchen. Possibly understaffed but wait wasn't outrageous. While we waited, I took a look around the cafe. I enjoyed looking at all the different art - I saw a piece highlighting a local artist which I found thoughtful. We looked at the bakery glass display on right hand side of the cafe and I discussed with the employee working about their recommendations and inquired about some of the inspiration behind the business. They were very knowledgeable about different tastes and other products they could offer such a King Cake which I would love to check out another time. I ordered a vanilla chocolate cupcake and my fiancé ordered a Tiramisu cake. They were packaged nicely in a paper bag - the cupcake they placed in a sturdy cupcake box which I appreciated. They made sure it all fit nice and securely in the bag for the car ride home. They also had a company logo on the taekout bag - very nice! We got our food and went home. My fiancé discovered they gave a huge portion size with his meal - which justifies the price we paid. He was very excited about it. We tried the beignets and those were really good. I opened my sandwich - they wrapped it in tin foil so it was nice and warm. The croissant part seemed really nice but the egg and cheese part was really bad. After a couple bites I realized I was forcing myself to try and finish the rest of it but it wasn't good. I gave my fiancé the rest of the sandwich and after sitting with the food, I had a stomach ache (I strongly think it was the sandwich) so I didn't want to touch the cupcake for a while. My fiancé remarked as well that the sandwich did not taste right - honestly the last time I had an egg sandwich that made me feel like that was a cheap breakfast sandwich from Dunkin Donuts that made me never want to order food from them ever again. But this version the croissant at least seemed nice and presentation was nice. My fiancé said his dish was fine but nothing extraordinary. The next day after letting my stomach process, I tried the cupcake and while I did enjoy the cupcake it really wasn't anything special. I enjoyed it but wasn't anything superb. Presentation was nice but again, isnt something I would rave about. So overall, the experience here was fine but I did not like the breakfast sandwich. Service was phenomenal and seemed like they really wanted to share their culture with the community. i was interested in going back to try a King Cake from them but based on this one experience, this isn't going to be a "go-to" spot we'd recommend. I think food and baked goods (other than the foul sandwich) was good, but nothing to rave about.

While open early for the 9 to 5 crowd (7am), they close at 3pm on weekdays and 4pm on weekends. Personally, I really enjoy a caffeinated pick-me-up in the afternoon. And I ended up missing out on this coffee house twice before finally getting to sample its selection of coffee. However, the manager, who was very nice, did suggest that they may be expanding their hours. I had my most common coffee order: iced coffee with heavy cream. The coffee tasted pretty bitter, almost burnt even with a copious amount of sweetener. I know this is rather damning, but it was really no better than Starbucks. Now, my friend had a white chocolate/raspberry latte and enjoyed it quite a bit. So, perhaps their menu is a bit hit or miss. I have only sampled their coffee once, so keep that in mind. We also had a pastry, a chocolate brownie/cookie confection. It was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. I want to give this place credit for trying to grow a business in a place with pricey overhead (I don't want to imagine rent). And it is still a new business. But, as it stands, it could use work.
