There are drink specials for each day of the week. I enjoyed the blue concoction that I ordered on a Thursday. The chicken quesadilla was plentiful for my meal. Chips came out, but they were a bit stale. Plenty of TVs were mounted at the bar where you could watch a few different sporting events.

Stopped in for lunch. Service was painfully slow and the food was mid at best. My server greeted me quickly but then disappeared behind the bar so there was a long wait for him to make another tables drinks and then finally come get my order. He did manage to place some complimentary chips and salsa down when he gave me the menu but both lacked flavor and were a let down. For my main entree I got the beef tip chimichanga. It came out quick, was a nice size, and tasty so I'll give CDM a few stars for that.

    Lots of veggies, limited protein!

I usually don't leave bad reviews but this one was for the books!…read more My girlfriend and I came here last night to have a bit to eat and catch up. We arrived in the evening time and noticed the restaurant was rather empty, and we were seated right away. We received chips and salsa and water as a standard serve as soon as we sat down. Our server came about 5 minutes later. We asked about the specials for happy hour, and she explained it but never introduced herself and we never got her name. She was rather abrupt and when I asked about specific things like specials and whether or not they had mocktails, since I wasn't drinking that night, she said no. I was taken aback. She never smiled or offered any suggestions. It was as if we were in the wrong place. I had a feeling that we should leave and I should've went with that hunch. My friend and I continued our conversation since we were catching up and she came back by a few times and my friend ordered guacamole for an appetizer. We tried it but it wasn't fresh. Neither were the chips with salsa. We flagged the server down and finally we told her that we were ready to order. We ordered the Happy Hour special, 2 fajitas with steak and chicken. The food came out about 15 minutes later, no problem. We bless the food and start eating. Some time passes, and we see everyone but our server. She never came back to check on us, she came back to refill our drinks, she never came back to see if we were enjoying our food and I had to ask 2 other servers if we could have napkins and refill. At this point my friend and I have noticed that the night seemed off. We didn't receive the warm welcome that a normal restaurant experience should have. My friend requests to see the manager and he comes to the table. She explains that her guacamole wasn't to her liking. The guacamole wasn't fresh and it tasted like it was store bought. He blatantly tells her NO, that he will not take it off her bill and she explains that she wasn't happy but he shrugged his shoulders and walks away. At this point we decided that it was time to leave. We had to ask for to-go boxes and bags and napkins several times before requesting the check. It was clear that our satisfaction was not a priority that night and for that we will not return. We both noticed that the bathroom was unkempt and had a slight odor. Needless to say no tip was deserved so it wasn't left, so we paid our bill and left.  If I could give -5 stars then that would be the rating. This experience was the pitts. Trifling and piss poor service! It was clear that we were not welcome at that establishment. The actions of the server said it all! Completely unacceptable and I do believe that it was a stereotypical experience because we were black.

The West Side finally got one!…read more Customer Service-Great experience, as they were packed and still serving smiles!!!! If you've been looking for some really good soul food on the West Side of Bmore, Yai and Toya is a spot that you really need to put on your radar. I'm always super excited to see a good food option come to the West Side, because the East Side has been the number one contender for a while. Food- My Husband and I tried: Catfish, Mac & Cheese, Candied Yams, Collard Greens, String Beans, Seafood Egg Rolls, Salmon, and buttered rolls. The food was soooo good. Everything had that comforting, flavorful, satisfying feel you want when you're craving a good soul food meal. Somewhere that makes you remember your Grandma's cooking. B-more, the West Side finally got one!!! I can't wait to try more of the menu. Ambiance-Very aesthetically pleasing, carry-out spot! Parking: They are small and mighty; as a result, the parking can be super rough. Get there when they open or place your order online through the Toast app when they open, because they do sell out very fast.

I ordered two platters on a Saturday. I did this earlier in the day because I didn't want to…read moreexperience them saying they ran out of food. 1st platter is lamb chops over rice with mashed potatoes and a buttered roll. Mashed potatoes you can tell are handmade/ whipped. 2nd platter is fried whiten (4) over rice with yams and collard greens. The greens have a slight spice to them but not overpowering and they are seasoned well. I ordered the food online prior to the restaurant opening just so i could make sure that what I wanted was in stock. I placed my order on a Saturday afternoon around 11:54AM they didn't open until 1pm my food order confirmation said it would be ready by 1:45pm and it was ready by then. When I arrived into the restaurant lobby I noticed they have a refreshment refrigerator and I noticed they have homemade drinks ( iced tea, strawberry lemonade , regular lemonade and like a punch) it cost $3.50 but this is a cashless place so I paid with my card and it came up to $3.71 I found this place on Instagram and I must say that the pictures do indeed look like the food I ordered and it all was delicious. They lived up to the thousands of reviews and followers they have. What made this place even more special was they greeted every customer that walked into the doors to me that's something you don't get every time you walk into a restaurant. Great Food and great customer service . This is a carryout only and I must say my car ride home smelled delightful. They now have a new customer for sure. I most definitely will be back .
