Street Style Chickpea Bowl (V) Fennel Mint Lemonade Mini Samosas
    Jamie A.

This time, I really got a feel for pairings and selecting my toppings, sauces, and spices. It's an Indian food bowl and after reading over the menu, I got my kind of bowl i wanted. This place can accommodate to vegan eaters, or just a non meat kind of day choices. The staff can easily accommodate and recommend great pairings and explain very well what flavors will be like if you prefer or are more into spicy, sweet, savory, or just a non spicy friend~ The Mini Samosas are a must because they are the most crunchy and best side! I would love a whole bag of the samosas~ The drink options have many spices and can be Interesting ~ I enjoyed the refreshing lemonade because it wasn't too much of an adventure ~ This is my new favorite place for Indian food ~ The whole place is clean and a usual take out place with some seats but don't expect an in restaurant experience where your given seats~

Came back to try again after the event to try out a different type of bowl. This time I was more prepared on what to expect because I've had it before and I read the list of sauce and sides listed up above which I did not notice It's a small chipotle style Indian Mexican fusion restaurant where you can pick and choose what you want on a bowl. This time I ordered the chipotle chicken bowl, mini samosas and cold chai latte. I wanted to try the steak but was not ready and didn't have time to wait at the moment. I really liked the bowl this time more so than last time because I knew better what I wanted in my bowl. My personal favorite combo was chipotle chicken with saffron rice, sides, guacamole, spicy sauce and tahini sauce. Very flavorful but still healthy and doesn't feel heavy. Mini samosa was great as I remembered. It's a must try when you come here. I think it's best I had around all the Indian places I've tried at. Cold chai latte was okay. Similar to mango lassi I tried last time I think it's a bit too strong spice flavors for me personally. Service was good like last time but still it's kind of difficult to understand sometimes because of thick accent but it's part of the experience. I highly recommend you spend time to read the menu and list of sides/ sauce up above to check what you want before you place your order. Overall definitely a great and refreshing option since there is nothing like this place around RI area. Definitely would come back again to try the steak bowl.

Cilanter was an interesting fusion of Indian food and Chipotle style bowls! I got chicken tikka and steak in my bowl, along with many different toppings and a mix of sauces they had recommended. It was a filling and healthy meal!

This was my first time visiting and I was really impressed. My bowl was delicious. The employees were helpful in selecting the items for the bowl and answering any questions I had. They offer bowls, wraps, salads, and tacos. They also have samosas, chips with hummus, and a variety of gourmet drinks. There is some seating inside and 15 minute parking is offered.

I tried cilanter for the first time and loved it. When I walked in, I noticed it was exceptionally clean and I felt really welcomed by the employee. He was also very kind to explain the process of ordering a bowl and what each topping was. I ultimately built a very diverse and colorful bowl and it tasted amazing. There were savory flavors, sweet flavors, garlicky notes, and I was able to try each of the rices they had so it gave it that much more flavor. I would definitely come back and try a different bowl. Parking might be a hassle but side streets are usually the way to go.

Just what I needed at the end of a long day! They had a several rices to choose from, including Saffron Rice and turmeric rice. There were a bunch of toppings that worked really well together, including a cabbage and carrot mix, corn, cilantro, onions and some add ins for extra. For $10.95 for a bowl, I thought it was a decent portion (the same size as your average Chipotle bowl) and the flavors were spot on. You can choose your sauce at the end depending on the flavor profile you're going for (sweet and smoky, refreshing minty, etc) and I had enough to split into two different portions. Would also recommend the mini samosas to try!

If you're in the mood for some fresh, tasty Indian food but are short on time - Cilanter is the way to go! Convenient, fast-casual place with friendly staff with yummy bowls. Had the pleasure of trying their chicken tikka bowl, which included well-seasoned succulent chicken over a bed of fragrant rice and other fresh fixings. Check it out!

I love anything that has to do with Indian food. That's why I think this concept they have created is brilliant! Quick and easy ordering and staff were super friendly. Loved the art work on the wall. I went with the chicken tikka masala bowl and it did not disappoint my tastebuds. Go get you some Cilanter asap! Happy eating!

FIREEE. 10/10. Ordered this honestly just wanting to try something new and this is probably one of the best things I've had in a bit. Everything is simple but it's very fresh and flavorful. I knew it was good even when my boyfriend devoured it.

Cilanter is in the midst of Federal Hill and a new addition to the multitude of ethnic restaurants along Atwells Avenue. It's like an Indian buffet and a poke bowl bar had a baby. You pick your protein then add veggies and sauces piling everything from spiced chickpeas to mango into your dish. It's a fun way to mix it all up into a flavorful chaos of food. You can sit inside or outside and people watch while eating. This is a good choice for vegetarians as well. After dinner take a stroll down Atwells Avenue to savor the sights, sounds and smells of Providence.

Never had Indian fusion and I'm glad I tried it. Man that helped me was so friendly and helped me decide what I might like based on preferences. Ambiance could be quick in and out or chill eat in outside or inside. Definitely try it if you're even on the fence about it!

We started with the lamb kavap and shared the ginormous chicken stew, and finished off with the honey cake. Every this was so flavorful. The lamb is served on skewers with 23 different spices. Definitely tasted cumin, paprika, peppercorns, garlic, and so many other spices! The chicken stew was so delicious. Be warned that it's big and spicy! Definitely a kick of peppercorns. I believe it's a full smashed whole chicken so each bite has bits of bones. But the chicken is stewed in a rich, spicy broth. The stew has hand made noodles, potatoes, and peppers. We finished off with honey cake which helped cooled down the spices we just ate. Lovely slice of cake with a scoop of coffee ice cream. This place gets busy but they have a digital waitlist. We checked in with the host on the first floor, but she escorted us to the second floor to be seated. I always liked that this restaurant seems to be a small house converted into a restaurant since it literally makes me feel at [someone's] home. We were given QR codes to scan for the menu; not my favorite. I overheard another table ask for paper menus, so it appears there is that option. For a starter, we ordered handmade lamb dumplings and for entrees, original meefen and lamb on dry land with a side of white rice. It all ended up coming out around the same time and the tables are a little small so it felt like an overwhelming amount of food, but it was actually the perfect amount for two people. The lamb dumplings were flavorful, albeit, the wrappers were a tad too soft. The original meefen was very tasty, especially the minced meat. However, the uden noodles don't do a great job of absorbing sauces, so it felt like a lot of the oils and flavor were left behind. The lamb on dry land was good, but it was difficult to eat especially two people. We didn't realize it would be meat on a stick, similar to a turkey leg but less meaty. We ended up eating the easy parts, but took the bone home to finish out of the public eye. The crispy potatoes on top were my friend's favorite. The total was about $50 which was fair. Our waiter and other staff members did an excellent job of getting us all we needed and clearing plates as we finished. Their official website is one of the coolest I have seen since it includes audio and images, but I wish it had a description of what each item is, just like their in restaurant menu QR code.

It is the kind of place where you can meet friends, share a pot of tea, break bread & let the world slow down for a while. We started with a pot of black tea with fresh mint because, as they say, Syrians are ALL about TEA! It was perfectly balanced, not too strong, wonderfully refreshing, with just the right hint of fresh mint. A lovely way to ease into our meal. I ordered the hummus, an authentic Syrian version from the Akhtarini home. Silky pureed chickpeas blended with tahini, garlic, lemon & olive oil, served with warm Syrian bread. Simple, traditional & absolutely delicious. I also had the pepper & lamb fatayer, a popular Syrian street food, often eaten on the go, wrapped in paper. The softly baked bread was tender & flavorful, with small pieces of pepper & lamb seasoned with spices & olive oil. I loved the little "boat" shape & the spicy lamb spice topping. Hubby ordered the chicken shawarma wrap. A classic done right: flavorful marinated chicken, banana peppers, pickles & garlicky sauce wrapped in bread & grilled under a flatiron. He was very happy with his choice! What I loved the whole experience of Aleppo Sweets! The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, welcoming feel & food that feels deeply connected to Syrian tradition & hospitality. The ladies who are working when I visited last were just so lovely and even gave me some food to take home for free because I mentioned that I had wanted to try it and was going to come next time to do so. The different types of baklava were delicious and they use a lot of pistachios which I am a big fan of. I really enjoyed the lentil soup, it had good flavor and my friend really liked her hummus. This is such a great spot and I definitely need to get myself here more. It does only have street parking, but we were able to find parking in the area pretty easily without having to walk too far. Respectfully sharing an unpleasant experience from our recent visit…read more We've been loyal patrons of this restaurant for a long time, usually visiting every other Sunday with a group of 9-10 friends to enjoy good food and time together. The ambiance and general quality of the food have always been excellent, and we've genuinely appreciated that. However, during our most recent visit, we had a rather disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share--constructively and respectfully--so it can hopefully be improved going forward. We ordered a spicy fish dish that unfortunately was not up to the restaurant's usual standards. It appeared to be a frozen tilapia, not fully cooked, with a strong raw fish smell that made it quite unappetizing. I returned it and politely explained I wasn't satisfied with the quality. I even mentioned I didn't mind paying for the meal if it met basic expectations--but I was met with a dismissive smirk rather than any understanding or acknowledgment. Later, when we went to pay, we were surprised to see an unexpected charge for tea! This was especially disappointing since tea had always been served complimentary during our previous visits. There was no signage or prior communication indicating a change in this policy. When I politely asked for clarification, the lady at the counter responded very rudely and was not willing to listen. Wanting to resolve the matter calmly, I spoke with a gentleman who appeared to be closely affiliated with the owner--possibly his son. He respectfully listened to my concerns and communicated them to the owner, who ultimately agreed to deduct the charges for the fish and the tea. While I appreciate that decision, the attitude of the front staff, especially the lady at the counter, remained rude and unprofessional! There was no apology--only resistance and continued arguing. As returning customers, we didn't expect perfection--but we did expect respect and consistency. I hope this feedback is taken in the spirit of improvement, because we've enjoyed this place many times in the past and would like to continue doing so in the future. Good service is just as important as good food--and I truly hope future guests are treated with a bit more courtesy and care!! !!!A long-time customer!!!!!!!
