Rating: 4.3 Came to try this middle eastern restaurant with a friend due to one of my Syrian friend's recommendation. It's located in Cranston and parking is available. There are many doors on the establishment but only one on the side of the parking lot works so you don't have to try every single one like I did. It looks small but is rather large establishment with many seatings and back room available for hookah and smoking. They have hot tea for self service. We got the combo grilled plate which came with grilled chicken, beef and lamb shish kebob wrapped in pita bread, hummus, salad and garlic and spicy sauce. The meat was tender and flavorful and pair well with pita bread the hummus/garlic sauce. Personally I liked the lamb the best. Everything else was delicious and the portion was good. The service was good for the most part but the wait on the food was pretty long as we had to wait around 30 minutes. Kitchen did look small and there was decent amount of people so maybe staffing or kitchen isn't sufficient with serving large amount of customers in a timely manner? Overall the place was pretty good and definitely liked their food. Down side was the wait on food and that they added 18% gratuity automatically in our tab which i thought was excessive for a restaurant to do for 2 people. I think too should be given based on service not automatically. The place wasn't also necessary the most sanitary environment which can be a problem for some. Aside from that I would come back to try their other dishes maybe for pick up so I can avoid automatic tip.

My partner came here with friends and I'm glad he took me next! We were seated swiftly and our server got our drinks and order quickly because I already looked over the menu~ ordered the mango smoothie, which was very sweet and refreshing on this hot day. They offer tea, self service, instead of water, and it was delicious. It came in small glass mugs and was hot and sweet. It was a good combo with the savory food. Ordered the combo and it was good. Had more than enough to share for 3, and plenty of pita bread~ this was such a unique and different food experience for me that I very much enjoyed. Waitress picked up our empty plates and were attentive until it got busy, in which we had to go to the counter and ask for to-go boxes. I think one pays at the front, but I wasn't sure since we walked to the front to get boxes and pay our bill ourselves since the waitress never came back. So the big elephant in the room is the automatic 18% gratitud added to our bill. Seems to be something other reviews mention. I can't explain the reason except they want to pay their staff well, but they should be more attentive. Some where on their phones and have full blown conversations with their earbuds in. If they were more attentive and conscious it would make more sense. Otherwise the food is solid and enjoyable. Feels more authentic with many families here enjoying big shareable meals..

My friend and I came here on a weekday afternoon so it was just us in the restaurant and there is plenty of parking and plenty of space inside. I tried their complimentary tea and it was good but it was too sweet for my liking. For starters, we ordered some hummus and it came with pita. That hummus was incredibly delicious. It was light, it was smooth, it was nutty and creamy, and with the pita it was very addicting. We ordered a chicken shawarma to share and it was delicious and perfectly pressed to give it a crunchy wrap. That dipped in their garlic and spicy sauce was really good. We also ordered their chicken and lamb skewers over rice and that was delicious since both meats were very tender. The rice was not too flavorful but with all the other sides and flavors, it reall brought it to life. The side salad was good but it was a bit soggy. Overall great food and for good prices.

el laham is a solid place to stop in with friends or family for a casual meal. their portions are so generous and they have a little bit of everything from the Levant region. their meat and rice options are outstanding, and i love their rotating dessert options. i have sat in both the hookah room and non hookah room, and had a good time with friends. service has varied depending on the rush. but never the kindness, just the speed of service. sometimes it's taken an hour to get food and sometimes it's taken 15min. doesn't keep me from coming back but i plan my visits carefully in case it's a day where it's too long of a wait!

The food was so good, restaurant has sections for smoking and non smoking, we sat in non smoking, service was good they brought the food and bottles of water, they didn't check on us the entire time but we didn't really mind or need anything. I wanted to order dessert but was way too full, portions are huge btw. Definitely worth a try.

Came during COVID Ramadan for a buffet style iftar. Really good Syrian food and felt very homey! Authentic and clean. $22.5 for all you can eat with water and tea. Decent price!

Al Mall closed down but the good food and ghetto tissues used as napkins live on at El Laham

It doesn't look like much outside, but the inside is awesome! Of course it wasn't too busy on a Wednesday night, we came in around 6pm. The owner working there told us that there was a happy hour going on and that it was $8 off any hookah flavor besides the more exotic flavors. My friend and I had to travel back to his car because he forgot his ID, but we ended up coming back! The owner gave us free sodas on the house which was good. He was very down to earth, and felt comfortable coming here. I highly suggest the strawberry margarita!!! ;) The owner also showed us around the hookah place itself. The place is also clean!

The music was ok, there was no Dj someone just playing music from their phone, I think it was the first time in my life I heard the entire fabulous album while being out and they played a couple songs twice, maybe they know him or something, strange. The hookah was good and the girl kept changing it out and making sure we were good the entire time. It looks like a chill vibe not the best curb appeal but the food was ok so give it a shot

The food was outstanding (the Mediterranean flavors are spot on), the drinks were perfectly crafted, and the service was attentive and friendly. If you enjoy a great cigar or hookah, their selection and ventilation system are top-tier. It's the perfect spot for a night out in Providence. We will definitely be back!

The venue is reasonably large, the seats are comfortable, the service has been very good (and it was excellent today), and they have a large humidor for anyone arriving empty-handed. I've worked through a handful of menu items and found the lamb lollipops are particularly good (order them medium). That said, this isn't a place I'd choose strictly for dinner unless the ambiance of lingering cigar smoke is part of the draw (pun intended). In warmer months, the large outdoor deck along the water is a really nice spot. So if you're into cigars or hookah and live in the area, this might be your place too. Given how rare cigar-friendly venues have become, I'm bumping this up to a five-star rating. Tip: Beware of the sidewalks on this street. They have so many peaks and valleys they look like the Swiss Alps!
