From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating! We came in with a party of eight, including five children, and everyone made us feel right at home. We were seated at the perfect-sized table for our family, and our waiter, Jake, was AMAZING! If you visit, I truly hope you have the pleasure of having Jake as your server. He was so kind, attentive, patient, and personable, especially with our children. He took the time to interact with them, talk with them, and patiently let them order their own meals. That kind of service makes such a difference, and we appreciated him so much! The food was delicious, the customer service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was just perfect! Even the music was great! My grandsons enjoyed it so much that they couldn't help but jump out of their chairs and dance right there in the aisle near our table! It was such a fun, relaxed, family-friendly environment. And here's another little bonus--the trains! You can actually watch the trains passing by from the restaurant. They come through fairly often, and rather than being disruptive, they add such a unique charm to the dining experience. The kids were absolutely fascinated! The new owner has raised prices, reduced portion sizes, increased wait times for food readiness, and increased wait times for food ordering. Nearly all of the front-of-house staff has been replaced and there is a definite vibe of unrest when I walk in now (the few times that I still go there) Chip portions are bleak, the wraps are about two-thirds their previous size, and everything costs more... a recipe for disaster in my opinion. This was the ONE business in Mebane that needed absolutely nothing... it was turn key for any new owner and a guaranteed hit with the locals. Within a few months, the feedback from me and everyone else I've talked to is that it's now on the decline and we no longer recommend it to visitors, or family visiting. With other chains the sauce to me is what makes or breaks it, and Marcos got it right in that area. There is also crust toppers to choose from. We chose the "Romason" , which was basically garlic butter and Parmesan brushed crust. It was rather tasty. There menu has sandwiches, wings and other sides that we haven't delved into yet.
