Food has gone downhill. TERRIBLE customer service. I have been coming here for year's and after this visit it will be my LAST!!!!! The only thing that is remotely good is the Texas ACP but when I called my order in the hostess put down my order as JUST an ACP. All I received was rice and chicken instead of onions, peppers, steak and shrimp. I politely asked if my order could be fixed so that I could enjoy my dinner. Instead the hostess said the kitchen was closed and took no acctablility for this mistake. I received no refund, apology, or a discount. My father ordered the steak and shrimp fajita and the veggies and meat looked burnt and did not look appetizing. His salsa was very watery and lacked flavor. It looked as if they just take cups from the freezer because it had ice chips in it. YUCK!! Hence the watery consistency. I ended up going to La Cocina that never disappoints and they corrected their mistake. My father was jealous of how my meal looked and WISHED he would have PASSED on his meal and ordered from them instead. I will NOT be coming back after this terrible experience. read more

Stopped in for lunch and was seated immediately and was brought a basket of chips and salsa and my drink within about 2 minutes of being seated. I ordered the Lunch Chori Pollo and a Chicken Tostada. The food and service was great, my order was out in about 10 minutes. The chicken was cooked perfectly, topped with a very flavorful chorizo sausage and queso cheese dip served with rice, beans and little salad and pipin' hot corn tortillas, you can get flour tortillas if you want. I asked the waitress for some of their house made red hot sauce, she brought me a little dish of it, the sauce is great and brings the heat to the show. I've been to their Burlington location a few times and it is always excellent, this location did not disappoint at all. read more

This is my second time here (just came last night, and it was so good I wanted to bring my husband)! It is really good! I had the grilled veggie quesadilla last night and it was out of this world. The best Huevos Rancheros that I have ever has East of Mississippi. The wait staff are all delightful and EVERYTHING we have had her has been outstanding. Each time, we have to travel over an hour, but it's really that good! BONUS: Delicious $2 margaritas every Friday night. Better bring a designated driver! read more

A weekly staple for my husband and me. The wait staff is quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. They even have committed our regular order to memory! The food beats EVERY other local "Ameri-Mexican" place within miles!!!! Trust me. It's always delicious! And this is coming from a woman who seems to have a knack for getting bad/wrong food. The price is right and I always leave with tons of leftovers. You used to have to wait for a table or your food on weekends, depending on when you got there. But now that they have opened a newer, larger location in Burlington in addition to this location, it seems to have alleviated that problem. The food, though? 06/13 Takes a lot to impress me, service is again exellent, food is great, their ACC in a taco shell is a feast. I guess this place is best off-hours where the cooks can take the time to do the dishes right. Production isn't great as in it's a family owned place, but the food is not staged, wholly authentic & delicious. ACC & fish tacos are awesome, bean queso dip is an odd slurry but delicious regardless 12/28 Update: New waitstaff and extremely busy conditions led to a lousy experience where there was excessive unapologetic waiting and the food was sub-par ... victims of their own success? They could solve this by more free chips, perhaps a smaller holiday menu, hiring another person to run around explaining delays to the customers, or something else? Anyway, the waiting, and lack of flavor in the food affected the experience greatly, sadly. Lowering from 5 to 3 stars ... Previous review: Great food at bargain prices... The local owners continually improve the restaurant, just last week they updated their menu (but not so much the prices!) I've had better Mexican / Tex-Mex food, probably, but not for the price, and honestly not in such a tiny town like Haw River; the food is very authentic & tasty. Yes, the food is delicious, the place is full of local regulars, and the family that owns & works at the place keep it clean and generally the service is good. Called to place a takeout order and was put on hold. The girl that answered the phone put me on hold, I held on for 10 minutes! I hung up and tried to call back for about 20 minutes getting an answering machine. Finally got thru only to be told that they were too busy to take orders on the phone! Not only was the girl rude but was talking very loud! I called back yet again 30 minutes later and asked to speak to the manager only to be told that there was not a manager available! Not a way to run a business! People skills should matter and being polite should be a given...I guess everyone was not raised the way I was! read more
