I'm…read morepretty picky when it comes to Mexican food because I've been spoiled with very authentic offerings in other states and across Mexico and usually find super American Tex Mex underwhelming. I love this spots because it caters to both the authentic and American Tex Mex pallet through its offerings. The only downside is that there is not an authentic house made mole dish which I am a sucker for! My go to dish is the Enchiladas Americanas with shredded chicken....I know I know, I just said I prefer authentic but who doesn't love a little American queso cheese sauce on their dish??? What enhances the dish is the green and red salsa that both have amazing flavors and you can tell they are made from scratch in house. The red is my go to because the flavor is very homey and comforting but when I want a bit of a kick I get green! The service is always great and welcoming. I've also had a Valentine's cocktail here which was very good (they have standard and seasonal beverage offerings)! Highly recommend checking out if you are in the area!

I almost missed out because the sign had a different name but I came in hoping they had birria tacos. The food came out pretty quickly and oh my. The consommé was so rich and addicting. I ended up sopping every drop on the chips I had left after devouring the tacos. The meat was so tender and flavorful,l. What a epic lunch. They keep everything very clean. It's a nice little space. The back wall of flowers and embroidered pillows were a nice touch. I would definitely come back to satisfy my birria cravings. The consommé was a solid 9. Would have been a 10 if it wasn't as soupy. I prefer a thicker consistency. The taco itself a solid 9. Could have been a tad crispier and warmer. The salsa was the only thing I didn't care for. It was very sweet. I recommend you to come by and check them out. I'm stuck on the birria tacos so I'll have to force myself into ordering something new. Thumbs up. Best in a couple weeks.

The el pastor meat was delicious, the beef ribs were so tender and flavorful, the fried fish (mojarra) was cooked to perfection and reasonably priced and the homemade hot sauces were quite delicious. I've had this place bookmarked for a while...sadly the bookmark is getting removed…read more The good: We were quickly seated and had our choice between a booth or table. We luckily beat the Sunday after church rush too because there was a bit of a wait 30 minutes after we came. For my entree I ordered the lunch special pastor burrito. The burrito was a nice size for lunch. The green sauce had a nice flavor and a bit of heat that the sour cream helped to calm. The pork was marinated very well, was plentiful, and the mandatory pastor pineapple was a nice touch as always. The bad: Salsa, chips, and Mexican rice were bland. The guac on my husband's plate was missing a hint of lime and salt The ugly: Service.....Actually what service?!? The waitress never came back after taking our order. Also, when ordering, I accidentally dropped my straw right by the waitress's feet. I am very visibly pregnant, so bending over to grab anything on the floor is a challenging workout. Instead of offering me another or picking it up for me (it was still wrapped), she just stared at it. I braced myself on the table to pick it up and almost flipped the table (water spilled and items went sliding). Instead of looking in shock, offering to help clean up the water or even laugh, she gave me the Gen Z stare..... this should have been our warning sign for the non existent service that was to come. My main lunch entree was 4 stars (sadly can't say the same for the sides or my husband's), but the service... I honestly should subtract more than 1 star but feeling more generous than they were with their service ;)

Bad service and mediocre food are always a bad combo…read more Let's start with the chips and salsa. I always appreciate free chips and salsa, however they could've kept these. The salsa had no flavor to speak of. Felt like I was wasting a body motion dipping these because they tasted like plain chips with or without a dip. For my meal, I went with the texanas fajitas with included steak, chicken, and shrimp. Same thing applied from the chips and salsa... no flavor or seasoning. Tasted like they were literally just thrown on to cook with no prep of seasoning. Portion was not best bang for the buck. The price was the same as other places, however, at those other places, I always have leftovers to take home. I didn't have any when leaving here. Service was atrocious. Bad service will make me never come to your establishment again. It seriously irks me. After being seated our first waitress came and didn't say hello or give any greeting. Got straight into asking did we know what we wanted... rude. Once we got our food, we never spoke to her again. She was still there, but never came to check on us one time after that. I seen her, guess she thought her job was done with us. As I was eating my very greasy filled fajitas I got thirsty. I had a drink already, but she never came back to see if I needed a refill. Then later a gentleman (original waitress was still around) came to our table asking did we need anything, I asked for a refill of my drink. I even said please! He said ok, but I wasn't confident I'd get that drink. I told my wife I bet he'll forget my drink... he did. In fact, he eventually came to our table (with no drink) to clear her plates. I was still eating trying to get the greased up fajitas down my throat. I gave him a look, then looked at my cup to see if he got the hint. He looked at me, and it was as if we've never had an interaction in life before. I was done after that. When I checked out to pay there was no line on the receipt for me to add a tip. I don't know if that's standard here, but I want to say that was God and me being on the same page because I definitely wasn't leaving one. Only reason I came here was because my go to Mexican restaurant in the area was closed (well deserved) for the long holiday weekend. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Most other places around are on par price wise, better tasting food, and way better service. I promise their server will say hi to you, unlike here.

There aren't very many Mexican stores in the area so I only had 2 options to go do since this is a really small town. The have a decent selection of items but wish they offered more. I guess being from Cali I set the bar high. I went to the meat counter I got 1.5 lbs of flank steak which I think their prices are overpriced at $14.99 a lb sheesh! I also got diced asada from street tacos as well it was still on the pricey side but not crazy like the flank. I also bought there homemade tortillas which honestly weren't good they were hard and stuck together what a waste of money we didn't like then at all. When you come here you'll need to have patience as when I went only one person in the whole place spoke English so you have to wait for that one person to come and help. As my friend and I followed behind her to be seated, I began to notice that she was leading us away from everyone else and toward an isolated area near the bar. What immediately stood out to me was that no one else was seated there, and neither of us drinks. At the same time, I could clearly see several empty tables available in the front dining area where all of the Caucasian customers were seated. As an African American woman, I felt confused, saddened, and deeply uncomfortable. It was difficult not to question why we were being separated from everyone else. With respect, I explained to the waitress that I did not want to sit "in the back" and politely asked if we could be seated in the same area as the other guests. She appeared visibly annoyed and stated that she would have to go ask someone. At that moment, I had no desire to argue or create a confrontation. No one should have to feel unwelcome or question whether they are being treated differently while simply trying to enjoy a meal. Rather than endure further embarrassment or discomfort, my friend and I quietly chose to leave. It was frustrating to experience something that made me feel unseen and separated while spending my money just like every other customer. I am not my ancestors, and I refuse to accept being made to feel hidden, excluded, or less deserving because of the color of my skin. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality!
