Some friends of mine came into town and were so excited to visit your restaurant because we eat at the Roxboro location all the time and absolutely love it. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. The food was cold, I didn't receive what I ordered, and when we asked to speak with a manager, no one would come talk to us. I had the steak burrito bowl and wow that was the best burrito I have ever had. It was huge and very yummy. The price was reasonable at $14.50 better than a regular burrito. That's what I'm getting every time I come back except I'll try the grilled chicken or shrimp bowl. read more

Tonight we went to La Cocina for dinner. After we ordered FRANCISCO came to our table and accused us of leaving without paying. At first I thought we were being pranked, but he continued. He said he knew it was us. Once I realized he was serious I started asking questions. I asked why us. He said he saw us on video. I asked if he could show us the video he said he couldn't. I asked the date. It was OCTOBER 29!!! I was like WTF!!! If you know me you know I was HOT, but still maintained my composure. I informed him of the following: I've never ordered a meal I could not pay for, regardless of price. I've never walked out of a restaurant without paying for my check. I've NEVER been accused of something like this before. Needless to say I pulled up my online banking, search for the restaurant, and showed him the confirmation of payment. I asked for the manager and he said there wasn't one there. So I'll be saying FAREWELL to La Cocina! I will share this poor experience with family and friends. I will no longer bring colleagues here. 1.5/5 - I ordered a bean burrito with veggies, took a bite and there was chicken in it. Took forever to flag our waiter down, and when I explained to him that I'm vegetarian and asked for beans and not chicken, he stared at me, gave me a dirty look, and without saying a word took my plate back. It was promptly replaced but the order I received was still wrong bc there were no veggies. I didn't complain again though. The food was underwhelming, nothing special or flavorful about it. But the last time I was there the waitress said there was a new cook was why my Quesadilla was burnt and my husband's steak burritos had bloody meat. December 29,2024 we ate in the restaurant. They appeared to have a full wait staff. Chips and salsa came out but, nothing to drink. Finally someone took our order and brought our drinks. My meal came out 8 minutes before my friends dinner. My meal was incorrect and nobody came by the table to tell about the problem. When my friends meal came out and we pointed that my meal was wrong..the waiter seemed put out. By that time, my meal not only was incorrect it was cold! The waiter took back the portion of my meal that was incorrect and 5 minutes later returned with the correct item. Honestly, if the food was good, I would not be writing this review. The meal and service was below average. It seemed quite a bit of the staff was standing around, while 3 staffers worked the restaurant. I could have spent that $60 in 4 other Mexican restaurants in Mebane. You lost 2 customers La Cocina! Happy New Year! read more

Seated immediately. Our waiter Collin took our drink order right away. I went with a Frozen Mango margarita. Wow. Huge! My daughter got the frozen strawberry one. My husband went with a Mexican beer. Hot chips and salsa . We ordered guacamole and cheese too. Very fast to refill our chips. For lunch I ordered Menudo. So happy to see this exotic soup on the menu. A specialty in real authentic Mexican restaurants. It's one of my favorites. I love it. Nice heat to the dish. Served with chopped onions, cilantro and limes. Big bowl full of flavor! My husband had the enchiladas. Huge portion. My daughters both had the Mexicana burrito. They couldn't finish it. They said it was delicious. I go to there other location in garner all the time so I thought I would get the same great quality food at this location but guest what I WAS WRONG! I got the combination number 1 with a taco and two enchiladas. Nothing had any flavor the sauce on the enchiladas was bland. The chips taste store bought not homemade like the garner location. My fiancé ordered fajitas and his food was bland as well, no seasoning just a pan of sizzling meat. I would not recommend this location at all! read more

Horrible customer service. I will never eat here again. On Sunday, March 10th, 2019 I called the restaurant at 3:04pm to place my order for a taco salad and a side of rice. A woman on the other end of the phone took my order and told me that it would ready in 10 minutes. I thanked her and let her know that my husband would be picking it up. Thirty minutes later, my husband arrived to pick up my order. No one knew what he was talking about. Apparently, the woman did not record my order. When I called to complain, another male employee rushed me off the phone, telling me that the food is ready. He said that he could not provide any compensation for the inconvenience. I called back five minutes later to check on the meal and my husband said that the male employee lied and my order that was placed more than 40 minutes is still not ready. read more

Don't waste your money here... Go one exit up to la fiesta! They put canned chicken in the chicken soup, the service was terrible, the food was beyond sub-par it was down right tasteless and poorly prepared. The salsa was sour!!! Why? How? Nasty! The chips were old and cold. They waited 15 mins after I ordered to come out and tell me they didn't have chili poblanos today and 2 mins later the food arrived for the rest of the table.... Thanks.... I'll wait while everyone else eats so you can make something else. All around FAIL. They got 2 stars because the Resturant and bathrooms were actually very clean and they have a nice large bar. My wife and I had never eaten here, but the parking lot always has a lot of cars so we figured it must be popular and have good food. We find ourselves without kids one night and decide to slip in for a quick meal. Neither of us were that hungry and we decided to share a combo plate (1 enchilada, 1 burrito, rice, and beans) along with the chips and salsa. I also ordered a medium margarita, which was huge. Everything arrived at our table super fast (~5-7 minutes), which maybe should have been a sign. The chips and salsa were good so I hoped the food would be as well. No such luck. The plate arrived with the enchilada and burrito next to the rice and beans. Ok so far. Looking at the burrito and enchilada we realized there really was no difference between the two except a little enchilada sauce, melted cheese, and corn shell around the enchilada. The burrito had identical filling, but in a flour shell. I then realized the waitress never asked for our choice of meat. It came with the default ground beef. We each took a bite and had the same look on our face... Now I've never eaten Alpo, but this is what I imagine it tasting like. No other filling items like rice, beans, veggies, etc were in either item and no fresh lettuce, tomato, or sour cream. Just the Alpo in a shell. So we ask the waitress for some lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. She comes back and repeats back to us as confirmation; lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and guacamole? We're like sure, sounds good. She brings that all back and we heap it on top of the Alpo and things get better, but still not good. Meanwhile, I started in on the margarita. It was ok, but they must use an extremely cheaper mixer because it had the sharp unnatural lime flavor. I did finish it, and there at least was a good amount of tequila in it so that was nice. Now onto the bill. The Alpo combo came to ~$12 plus $13 for the margarita. Ok, that's fine. But then there was also $8 for the guacamole salad. WTH!? You charged me $8 for something that should have been on the plate to begin with? Guacamole is usually extra, but seldom the other things. In a nutshell, we were out the door for $40+ with tip for a plate of Alpo and a crappy margarita. Fool me once, shame on you. I won't be back to get fooled again because there are several way better options for Mexican food in Mebane. read more
