Super casual Mexican restaurant located in Burlington/Elon area. We went on a Saturday night and the place was crowded, but we were seated immediately. It took a few minutes for them to take our order, but they gave free chips & salsa in the meantime. The chips were hot (temperature wise), which is just the way I like them. However, I found the salsa to be too liquidy. I prefer chunky salsa. Food came unbelievably fast. Once we placed our order, it was at our table within 10 minutes. I ordered a taco salad with beef as my protein. It was decent, but way too much beef compared to the other ingredients. Service was quick. The restaurant is very bright with lots of colors everywhere. It seemed like a very popular family spot. I'd go here again! read more

Have been here three times now. This last one warranted my response. First, the food is always great. I got to sit at a table with a slight view of the kitchen. Those men back there were working hard and fast! Whoever is in charge of the food did a wonderful job. The food is delicious and always made quickly and exactly as requested. The reason for the three stars is the service this last visit. The woman serving us seemed bothered we were there. I was with three other people (husband and adult children) and we made sure to smile and be cheerful. She NOT ONCE smiled at us (but let me tell you, when a Spanish-speaking table came in after us they were seated behind us and she served them quickly with eagerness. She smiled with them often and even talked with them a lot. I could tell they did not know her as I speak a little bit of Spanish and enough to tell she was getting to know them.) This server would take our order and not even give us time to ask a question or add to the order! It was too fast. And too rude. Then she'd move right on to their table and take her sweet time. She NEVER smiled. NOT ONCE. I even tried softening her up a bit by complimenting her earrings (both ears were covered in earrings up her entire ears). She said thank you with a forced, fake smile then looked at her other tables. It was WEIRD and very OBVIOUS there might have even been some level of discrimination as we were white and she had no clue two of us spoke some Spanish. She also didn't check on us regularly for refills and frankly, seemed more bothered we were there. Overall, the food is good but the service by that older woman left much to be desired. (To help identify her: Never got her name, but she wore a dreamcatcher as an earring among many others on one side. She had dark hair and definitely spoke Spanish AND English.) read more

This little gem doesn't miss when I need my Mexican fix! The food and drinks keep the place packed. The staff is friendly and take care of you. The complimentary chips and salsa are brought to the table almost immediately after you're seated. One of my favorite salsas! The food is served hot and usually doesn't take too long. The serving sizes are pretty big for a great price. The place is decorated in vibrantly! It's loud and lively! It has a nice bar with a TV. read more

I would only recommend take-out here. Unfortunately it was so hot in the dining room we had to take our food to go--leaving our large drinks behind. A sad moment but my dining mate couldn't bear the heat of the dining room any longer. I give three stars for the tastiness of what I was able to bring home. read more

I had ordered take out from here last night and it was delicious! My steak tacos didn't need any thing to dip in at all. It was so flavorful within itself. Of course the rice and beans were good. I will be back to try other things. I might sit in the restaurant next time because the atmosphere inside looks so good. read more

We were visiting family in Burlington and it was decided that we were going to a "Crazy Mexican" restaurant. As a foodie, naturally my ears perked up and without even researching it I was all in! So we head over to experience what I had imagined to be a uniquely festive meal. And, it didn't disappoint! They had ample parking outside, and upon entering you see a vast array of seating and a full bar in front of you. The chairs in this place are unique and festive, check out the art on them when you go. Being a Friday it was rather empty at around 8pm. Our large party was promptly seated, drinks ordered, and queso was flowing. Most of our table shared a margarita pitcher, and they got the fresh kind without the margarita mix. FRESH squeezed margaritas are the best so be sure to ask for it! For our meal we shared a few entrees including the chicken fajitas and pollo chipotle. The pollo chipotle was the favorite with just the right amount of spice. The only area of improvement I could suggest is the service, which was slow and it took forever for them to put the game we were trying to watch on the TVs. Given the place was fairly empty, we figured it shouldn't have been such a challenge. Certainly that is far from a deal breaker so go here and get loco y'all read more

Not a place we'll visit again. The chips were overcooked and the sauce wasn't to our liking. We had the chicken and shrimp fajitas for two. The shrimp were too large and the chicken could've been grilled longer. There's plenty of great Mexican places in the area that we love. This just isn't one to add to our list. First time visitor here. I've heard many great things about this place. I showed up the server was good. However, upon ordering a Miller lite the "keg blew". The server advised a blue moon would be coming up in 15 minutes. After being here for at least an hour the keg was never changed. The food was AMAZING though. Aside from the poor beer service. I've been several times and its consistently good. The service sometimes can be a little tough but is usually on point. This restaurant is very busy and fills quickly which is a challenge on any staff. They handle it professionally and with a smile. When my server is in the weeds that's all I expect. The food is solid. My go to dish is the combination with a chicken enchilada and chile poblano. My wife normally orders the combination with beef chimichanga and beef taco. They also make a good chile relleno. If you like spicy they have a home made hot sauce that is fantastic. It may not wow and dazzle you but I seriously doubt you'll leave disappointed. Crazy Mexico is Crazy Good, their menu is vast, it's a mix of Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican food along with burgers and a few other American sammiches. They open at 8am and offer Mexican breakfast and American breakfast items also like omelettes, pancakes, waffles and french toast...the chorizo omellete is awesome. They also have a full bar. My visits have been great, the food and service has been awesome each time. The "Crazy Pollo" was really good, it's grilled chicken breast covered in their homemade "special" sauce and cheese dip served with rice and beans, the waitress offered me some of their spicy hot red sauce to go with it, it was really good, definitely brought some good heat to the party. The food here is very good, and reasonably authentic. My only complaint is that certain food items (especially the Chiles Poblanos) come topped with condiments that aren't mentioned on the menu. Thus, be sure to confirm what comes with each dish before you order. I went to crazy Mexico tonight and was treated like crap. I sat down at the bar at 20 minutes to 9 and didn't have any one say a word to me till 10 to 9. And the first thing she said was we close in 10 minutes. I said I just want something to go. She got me a drink and took my order. In the meantime a guy who im guessing is a friend came in and she got him a drink and chips and salsa and sat down to talk with him. I was never offered chips and salsa, and was never spoken to again till my food came out. I went to pay and asked why I wasn't offered chips and salsa and she said they don't give them on to go orders. Now ive been to this place before and was always well taken care of. I usually decline the chips because I eat them. However tonight, from the get go, she let it be known that I needed to go. I have never not tipped before, but tonight I did not leave a penny. We have been here several times with friends and work colleagues, most recently a week ago. It is consistently good and very reasonably priced with great service. That's what keep us coming back. The menu is extensive and there are daily lunch specials, plus the typical lunch menu. The chips and salsa are complimentary and if you ask, they have their special house salsa that is a bit spicier if you like it hot. They also have an off-menu tortilla chicken soup which is excellent. I understand that it will be a regular item soon. Only been here for lunches, so I will have to try an evening meal. Have also been to the one in Haw River which is run by the same husband wife team and is also great. He runs one, she runs the other. Great idea since we find it sometimes gets a bit "testy" when my wife and I are in the kitchen at the same time trying to get a meal ready. Even worse idea when wine and knives are involved. They are on to something. Maybe they can ad marital advice to the menu! ;-) read more

Best mexican restaurant i've been too since moving to Elon. I got the crazy tacos and boy were they crazy... crazy good! My friends got the chicken enchiladas and chicken quesadilla both of which were 10/10. Also highly recommend the chicken nachos, very yummy. Crazy Mexico does not have Mexico v Germany for the World Cup and won't even search for it on their television. I guess that's why they are crazy! I can't recommend it based on that experience. I placed an order to go yesterday ((05/11/2019) and looked up the prices on the web site they have posted and wrote down the prices and had a total of everything I ordered. When I got there to pick up my order the prices I wrote down off the posted menu were different to the prices I was charged. There was a big difference of over $6.00 that I had to pay that was more than I had expected to be charged. I tried to explain to the person at the register and he didn't care what I said. I paid the difference and left there very upset and will never go back in there again. It was a crime called "bait and switch" and is against the law. The prices posted on the web should be the prices I will be paying, but it wasn't that way and the food was not all that good either. Metro M. read more
