Stopped in for brunch during our morning stroll and it was such a great decision! We arrived early, so the restaurant was nice and quite perfect for a relaxed start to the day. This is a casual, family-friendly restaurant. Below are some tips on what to order (and what not to order). This place is known for tacos, but the tacos weren't what wowed me at all. (I ordered the Meracanized Tacos and the seasoned beef was way too salty for my taste). The Comfort menu items I tried were amazing!! I couldn't give this place more than a 3 star rating. The only thing that saved it was the margarita which was quite delicious. Great bar selection and fun place for drinks in a town full of rundown bars. The tacos were way too small- four tiny shrimps in the shrimp tacos which was actually a bit comical. The food was all very cold making it a bit hard to get down. The portion of fries was also so small. Wasn't a fan of the salsa here either. Service was slow but they were busy so that was understandable. Maybe we had an abnormally poor experience here, so if I was around, maybe I'd stop by again. read more

I have very, very fortunately been to this place many times, when they had previous locations in Winston-Salem and Greensboro, NC. I did not realize they ever had a Mebane location until the other day when I went to meet my Aunt with my mother. I have ELATED my aunt chose this place, because this food and drink straight up SLAPPPPPPP. My mom and Aunt got the signature margaritas, which were made with a strawberry kiwi balsamic vinegar. It sounds weird, but man, that was probably the best margarita I have ever had. Unfortunately, I had to drive, so I couldn't partake as much as I would have liked to. While I did not partake in much alcohol, I did have lots of yummy food! We started with the stuffed avocado, which had cheese sauce, pico, and chorizo coating the entire avocado. My mother also discovered that she will eat avocados if they are covered in many other things, LOL. I had a salad, fish taco and the chicken tinga taco, all were delicious. I cannot remember what my aunt had to eat as tacos, but I did try her collard greens she ordered and those were freaking amazing. My mother ordered a smash burger, and while I did not have a bite, she was raving about the juicy burger with pimento cheese and bacon on top. The only real issue with this restaurant is the parking, there is not much of it, and its in a downtown area, but, even with this hassle, crafted is very much worth it. read more

We stopped by at around 5:30 on a Sat evening. We had never been to this downtown Mebane area so we weren't sure about parking. We had NO problem finding a parking spot. We stopped by because I saw that they had poutine for a weekend special. It sounded delicious !! And it WAS delicious. We mentioned to the waitress that they should permanently add it to the menu. It was just SO GOOOOD !!!! Everyone we came into contact with was friendly and helpful. No complaints at all about service ! Hubby loved his spicy margarita and my Amber beer was just what my taste buds needed to accompany the poutine and tacos. We each split the Big Truck tacos and the Honky Tonk tacos. Both were better than we expected. I can't wait to try a burger !! We will definitely be back. This is such a nice small hometown area. Exactly why we moved to Hillsborough !!! Today my (Durham based) lunch buddy and I drove to Mebane and ate at Crafted. It was a wonderful lunch. I had two tacos - Big Truck (pulled pork, mac and cheese, crispy onions, scallions, and BBQ sauce) and 'Mericanized (beef, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cheese). Both tacos were large and delicious. For my side I had chips and salsa, and that was also delicious. My friend had two different tacos, and he cleaned his plate. We were both very pleased with the food, the ambiance, and the service. I'll look forward to going back again and trying more tacos. read more

We have been going to crafted in Greensboro for years and had no idea a location had opened up in Mebane! We were finishing some shopping at the outlets and saw this as an option nearby for dinner and knew we had to stop. Started with the queso and chips which are always good. You can get both corn and flour tortilla chips which is a nice change from other restaurants. For the main I got my go-to's the Big Truck and the Honky Tonk tacos with a side of fries. The big truck is a pulled pork mac and cheese taco, but the flavor combo is top tier. Always have and always will be one of my favorites. I also got the Honky Tonk, which is a Nashville hot chicken taco. I love the flavor on this taco because it's the perfect level of spice but still enjoyable. We will definitely be stopping back in when in the area from now on! read more

I was so excited to try the fun tacos here, and I was not disappointed! The Big Truck & Fixie tacos were definitely my favorite out of the 3 I tasted! The fries were also phenomenal. The pimiento mac n cheese was a tad bland, but still good. The only other minor ding for the food is that the Fixie and Honky Tonk tacos claimed to be spicy on the menu, however they were not spicy, which was a tad bit of a letdown. Stopped by for lunch and this place is super cute. Parking was cool and the staff were welcoming and nice. We had water and ordered our food. You can get any of their tacos as a salad or bowl for only $1 extra. I decided to get the bowl with tuna. The tuna was cooked perfectly and the bowl was very hearty. I wished my bowl had more sauce. Yikes. This place is crazy expensive and our waitress was rude. Two tacos and a side of queso, about 2 ounces, with a handful Of chips cost $16. When I asked for salsa, she insisted they don't have salsa but brought me salsa. I then asked for the green sauce and she said, You want BOTH? With an incredulous tone. I recently stopped by here for dinner while in the area. I've ate at some of the other crafted locations and this one was on par with those. For a starter we got the queso with both flour and corn tortilla chips. I like that they give you the option of either or both. The cheese was super creamy and the chips were crispy. I got the Big Truck taco, messenger taco, and macaroni and cheese as my side. The big truck is one of my favorite tacos from crafted. It's loaded with flavor. The Mac and cheese had a similar cheese to the queso dip which was really good. Our server was really nice and I like the vibes of the restaurant. Honestly the only negative I've got is that the chairs here are not super comfy, but I think the food is worth it so that can be overlooked. read more

Have visited the Greensboro location a few times when in NC and today got to try this location. Super cute place inside. Love the vibe and hostess area. Food was on point like always. Able to do a taco plate with two options, love that! The drink was amazing! Our server was wonderful. He was very attentive and even helped get a kids quesadilla made even though they are no longer on their in store menu. Nice vegan options here too. I'm REALLY torn on this review... on the one hand, everything I've had from Crafted has been top-notch... from their chips, to of course the tacos... and what really blew my mind was the taste and quality of their burgers! Wow... did NOT expect that. On the other hand, it's kind of infuriating to grab a meal from here. Soooo many times now I have tried to use their website for ordering (not available), then tried to call ahead an order for pickup (nope, they don't accept that option either)... so what does one do? This means either driving the mile plus to place the order in person... wait 20 minutes for it to be prepped, then drive the mile plus back to the house. C'mon Crafted... this is 2023, get with the pickup and carryout crew! I'd dock half a star for their prices as, having grown up eating LOTS of tacos and genuine Mexican deep in Texas; tacos should NOT cost that much. Tacos are, by their origin, affordable street fare... they aren't a gourmet foodie dish. I will probably continue ordering a few meals here and there from Crafted... but I'm not going out of my way for it. Way, way too many other options that DO take online and call-in orders without having to wast time... Remember; TIME is a non-renewable and finite resource... use it wisely (not driving to order takeout dinner, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting,,, then driving back home). read more

Mebane recently opened a Crafted location, and y'all, you have got to go! The Big Truck Taco is everything I never knew I wanted in a taco. Mac & Cheese? Yes, please!! The Wayferer is scrumptious too. The chips and salsa is unlike anything I have ever had before but it checks all my boxes and I'm coming back for more. I got the Baja Taco, one with spicy potatoes and the other with beans and corn (not if you do this combination it will be considered a combo plate and be more expensive...I didn't know that). This place is a bit on the saltier side it was very hard to get past that, even the sauces were a little salty. Their "secret sauce" taste like mayo and ketchup please do not use it on your sweet potato fries. The guac could have used a bit more flavor but the flour chips were amazing. If you need a cider recommendation get the Orange You Hippie, it was not overly sweet but just enough. read more

First off, the great things: This place feels cool and trendy, which is a fun surprise for small town North Carolina. The interior is beautiful, the bathrooms are beautifully done, and there is a decent amount of seating. Staff were friendly, and our food was ready so fast. We felt cold inside. We got there before the lunch rush, and it seems like they didn't really heat the place (it was December) in anticipation of lots of people filling the space. The menu sounded so good, with delicious-sounding burgers and tacos and lots of meat-substitute options. I ordered the Smoked Goat Burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The fries were great, and I was SO happy they were savory instead of seasoned with sugar and cinnamon like a lot of North Carolina restaurants do. I really wanted to like this burger. I love goat cheese and I love pepper jelly, but honestly, all I could taste was salt. I had to scrape a lot of the goat cheese off my burger because something in there was way too overloaded with sodium. I also felt like the burger patty was thin and small for being $15. Additionally, the bathrooms, while cute, were not maintained well the day we visited. The toilet was not flushing and someone had left some very gross things in the toilet. I was really surprised that the bathrooms weren't well maintained as we arrived while the restaurant was still quite quiet and there were only two bathrooms to keep up with. Overall, I'd be curious to try some other things on the menu, but would probably end up getting a burger at a different place that I know will really deliver. read more

So went back with neighbors but just wasn't feeling taco's last night despite it being Tuesday, and people coming out as we went in commented something about their hamburgers. The seed had been planted, and I had a hamburger instead. Looking for a new taste, I had the burger with goat cheese. Not a goat cheese kinda guy, actually not even a burgersist.... but dang, it did not fail to impress. Bottom line her, if you go, don't ignore the side of the menu that has burgers. They are pretty taste worthy from my experience. Will try another next time, unless I do actually have their tacos, which I do like. It was a treat to have a burger with differing flavors. If you are into plain, maybe not your thing... but as one who couldn't look another fast food burger in the face again, this was a welcome diversion. After months-long excitement about Crafted coming to Mebane, we ventured in on a Wednesday night a few weeks after their grand opening. The place was jumping! It was really busy for early-ish on a weeknight, but we did not have to wait for our two-top. I was ready for the service to be kind of slow and scattershot, but it wasn't at all. Our waitress was really attentive, and everything came out quickly and correctly. We got the stuffed avocado, which was really unique, and totally hit the spot. My wife got the Fixie tacos, and I got the greasy spoon burger. . . . .because I've learned from experience that many places you would not expect to have a great burger, actually have a great burger, and Crafted was no exception. It's pretty safe to say that nearly everything on the Crafted menu looks intriguing, and we are going to have to go visit several more times in the near future just to try everything. read more
