Marie S. & I came here after attending the "Inside the Industry: The Foodie Edition" Yelp Event @ Miami Ad School (NY), which is in the same area. We were both hungry & after walking over to Cielito & glancing at their menu, we decided to dine-in; it was an enjoyable experience. Cielito has cool decor. This includes uniquely - created "spirits-bottled" dining table lamps & vases, swing doors that lead you to the bathroom area, a colorful, vibrant wall mural near the bathroom, a nice bar area, etc. Great music played in the background. Marie had Nachos & raved about how good they were...She let me try some & yes, the nachos were delicious. I had a nicely-seasoned Chicken Quesadilla. Boy, was it good. We had fabulous White Wine Sangria Cocktails. She had a Mango Margarita & I had a Watermelon Margarita. This place was definitely a vibe. It was a nice spot. I loved the decor. Each table had a different liquor bottle turned into a lamp, which was a unique touch. I also loved the bathroom wall art representing Mexico. The drinks were great. I got the mango margarita with a popsicle, and I believe my first drink was sangria. I ordered nachos, and the portion was huge, they gave me so much that I had to take some home. The staff were very friendly and even gave us a shot before we left. First time trying Cielito, and it was soo good! My group and I were looking for an affordable place with outdoor seating and happy hour. Watermelon margs with the tajin rim were our fav. Chips and guac were amazing and super well portioned. I got the tres carne asada tacos; the meat was cooked perfectly. Overall 10/10 service and food quality. While visiting Astoria we decided to dine outside while passing up the neighboring restaurants that were overcrowded. We were seated in about 15 minutes and the hostess was awesome. Our waiter was a young handsome young man who was very professional. I dined with 3 other friends and we had a nice view of the street. I've heard about this place from a few friends so I decided to finally check it out. The decor was beautiful and staff was friendly. We started with the watermelon margaritas and spicy guacamole. The drinks were strong and the homemade popsicle in the margarita was a nice touch. The guac was fresh and a decent serving but it wasn't very spicy. It was more so mild. I had the ribeye tacos and they were okay. Not much seasoning but adding their salsa definetly helped work the flavor. We finished with the house margaritas which were tasty. They forgot to put onions in one of them, but not a huge concern. 10/10. Chicken tacos - pass. Tasted similar to your typical Perdue chicken from the supermarket. They weren't bad, but they didn't really wow me. Service could be improved. We had to call the waiters over a few times because they forgot to bring some drinks and food. Again not a huge concern, but be prepared to wait because it gets packed. Although the wait was a little long (have to put your name on the list, no reservations, atleast not for our party if 5), the service was very good and worth it for food and drink. Our waiter "G" was very attentive and was prompt with taking our orders and bringing out the drinks. Everyone was pretty happy with the dishes when it comes to taste overall. The gobernador is essentially a shrimp taco, but they were a little scant on the shrimp (still good though). Of note, they don't have any dessert if that's something of interest for you.
