Food & Service was great! My boyfriend & I were attending a concert at the Melrose Ballroom (next to the restaurant) and wanted to get a quick dinner. Staff was really friendly!
First time trying Cielito, and it was soo good! My group and I were looking for an affordable place with outdoor seating and happy hour. Watermelon margs with the tajin rim were our fav. Chips and guac were amazing and super well portioned. I got the tres carne asada tacos; the meat was cooked perfectly. Overall 10/10 service and food quality. Our server, Ruben was friendly and very attentive to our drink accommodations and questions. We definitely will be back, new summer hot- spot!
This is a fabulous restaurant and it is NOT permanently closed! They did an incredible 6-month renovation both inside and outside, and the ambiance is fabulous! Very friendly service, and the tacos and margaritas are awesome!
Just went for drinks - want to return for food. Great outdoor seating setup and service was on point. The cocktail menu is so fun and perfect for summer.

An hour and 15 minutes later... Two drinks later.... The kitchen was still closed. Obviously on a Friday afternoon you would think that their kitchen would be open for service. Sadly, i'll never know if their food is good ..."sigh" But let's talk about the drink... The drink was excellent! The Route To Sinaloa was a bright, refreshing taste of cucumber. Maybe one day I'll come back...
Alright, for all the reviews kicking this place down... They should try the food again. After 2 apps and our first drinks, my bf and I were 100% sure we wanted to come back again. Drinks: Cielito, Red sangria with margarita Apps: Nacho fries (I'm so picky with fries, and these were CRUNCHY, potatoey! Fresh, hot, and Loved!!), Mexican Street Corn (A whole juicy corn with lots of the toppings, and 2 baby corns - delicious) Apps: Mango habanero shrimp cocktail, Birria tacos (10/10) Yes, the menu is a little pricier, but you get a) a good portion size b) delicious food and quality of food c) enough alcohol in your drinks that isn't too much to taste the bitterness and isn't too little where you wonder where your money went. There's a cool ice pop for a lot of drinks too that really do taste good and add to the drinks! Would recommend to another friend, would come to Astoria for it from LIC, and would come again 10/10 Quick and friendly service too
While visiting Astoria we decided to dine outside while passing up the neighboring restaurants that were overcrowded. We were seated in about 15 minutes and the hostess was awesome. Our waiter was a young handsome young man who was very professional. I dined with 3 other friends and we had a nice view of the street. I feasted my eyes on the barria tacos that are very popular paired with a soup like dipping sauce. We all ordered different flavored margaritas. I had the watermelon which was surprising very strong. We all enjoyed our cocktails. They were garnished beautifully giving us Vaca vibes. The barria tacos were just ok. It wasn't the flavorful soup I was expecting. We definitely had a good time.
The drinks was the driving force to come here. While they are beautiful- they were super weak, like juice. It was unanimous. The barria taco has enough meat but had no taste. The gravy was bland. My friends had the octopus taco and shrimp taco which they liked. The guac which I did not take a photo of was the only thing that I liked. It was delish, creamy nice spice overall AMAZING Service was good, friendly.. but not coming back.
So glad I found this spot on TikTok! I got a watermelon margarita - it was so pretty & delicious! For starters we got the street corn & nachos - loved the street corn, the nachos were meh. For our entrees we shared birria tacos, octopus tacos, & fish tacos. Everything was delicious, the octopus tacos were a bit different but very tasty. Looking forward to going back & trying their different drinks & rest of the menu.
If you're looking for a fun place to get drinks in the area, definitely check this place out! They have an extensive drink menu - the drinks are beautiful and taste great. Food wise, I got the spicy shrimp tacos which were pretty good and filling - the shrimp was juicy and I was very full after 3 tacos. My friends got the birria tacos but didn't think it was flavorful enough. I went in June 2021 and they were open for just outdoor dining due to covid, make sure you check before going on a hot summer day! (We went when it was 90 degrees and it was pretty brutal even though they had fans)
This is the spot for drinks. The margaritas come with popsicles and are amazing. I got the watermelon margarita. For appetizers, I would recommended the Mexican corn and octopus. Seasoned well and so juicy with great sauces. The tacos were good. I've had better but they were pretty good. I had the spicy shrimp tacos and my friend had the battered shrimp tacos. They were filling and the spicy shrimp was actually somewhat spicy. They gave us shots on the house at the end. The tequila was so smooth. I would love to find out what kind of tequila it was.

Is it fair to say this is our new happy hour spot? A short walk from the 36 Avenue stop on the n/w train. The staff friendly, the place so cute (inside and out) and the drinks/food amazing! We came here for happy hour and had a great time! Our server Ruben was so sweet and attentive. We got a couple of rounds of drinks and because we were celebrating some birthday, he even threw in some tequila shots! So so worth it and we are definitely coming back! read more
Cielito has Mexican Cusine & is located in Astoria, Queens. Marie S. & I came here after attending the "Inside the Industry: The Foodie Edition" Yelp Event @ Miami Ad School (NY), which is in the same area. We were both hungry & after walking over to Cielito & glancing at their menu, we decided to dine-in; it was an enjoyable experience. Cielito has cool decor. This includes uniquely - created "spirits-bottled" dining table lamps & vases, swing doors that lead you to the bathroom area, a colorful, vibrant wall mural near the bathroom, a nice bar area, etc. Great music played in the background. Marie had Nachos & raved about how good they were...She let me try some & yes, the nachos were delicious. I had a nicely-seasoned Chicken Quesadilla. Boy, was it good. We had fabulous White Wine Sangria Cocktails. She had a Mango Margarita & I had a Watermelon Margarita. The margaritas were served w/ a popsicle on top - both the cocktails & popsicles were refreshing. Cielito Staff are so kind. Great Customer Service. Fantastic Shots to end our evening of dining! This place was definitely a vibe. It was a nice spot. I loved the decor. Each table had a different liquor bottle turned into a lamp, which was a unique touch. I also loved the bathroom wall art representing Mexico. The drinks were great. I got the mango margarita with a popsicle, and I believe my first drink was sangria. I ordered nachos, and the portion was huge, they gave me so much that I had to take some home. The staff were very friendly and even gave us a shot before we left. I would definitely come back to this restaurant. The staff said Cinco de Mayo is a big hit, so maybe that's when I'll go back. read more

I've heard about this place from a few friends so I decided to finally check it out. The decor was beautiful and staff was friendly. We started with the watermelon margaritas and spicy guacamole. The drinks were strong and the homemade popsicle in the margarita was a nice touch. The guac was fresh and a decent serving but it wasn't very spicy. It was more so mild. I had the ribeye tacos and they were okay. Not much seasoning but adding their salsa definetly helped work the flavor. We finished with the house margaritas which were tasty. The waitress gave us complimentary tequila at the end and it was so smooth! The highlight of the night was definitely the service and the drinks. I would come again but try different tacos. read more

Fun cocktails and yummy food to snack on. Came here on a Sunday with a friend and was seated right away. Their drinks menu is fun and has a lot of good options. To drink I ordered the Watermelon Margarita and the Acai Berry Margarita. I think I liked the acai berry a bit more, but both were pretty great. We shared the Loaded Fries Tijuana which was great to snack on while we were drinking. Glad I got to try this place! read more

This place was amazing! The food was sooo good, the drinks were strong and pretty cool a lot of them come with popsicles. I had birria tacos and they were delicious. Unpretentious and a fun spot to go to. The food is authentic, fresh and delicious. It's great for a fun drink and casual night with your friends. The music is lively, you won't regret coming here. My friends and I dined on a Friday and sat inside. It wasn't too crowded and the service was great. The ceviche was fresh. The birria tacos was huge and delicious. The server was nice enough to have our street corn made with Mexican crema instead of the Mayo it normally comes with. The skinny storm was refreshing and not overly sweet, even the ice pop was good. I will say the blue lights all over the restaurant is too much it's hard to see your food and makes it seem like a lounge. I'd come back for those birria tacos and aguachile (green). read more

The service is HORRIBLE. It's like they were making the chips and guac in the back. It took them 30 mins to bring the food out. The place was not packed. The margaritas were FANTASTIC! The food was good too. It just takes too long for no reason. Will I be back, maybe. But the service turned me off too much. read more

The drinks and apps were the highlight of our experience in Cielito. Although the wait was a little long (have to put your name on the list, no reservations, atleast not for our party if 5), the service was very good and worth it for food and drink. Our waiter "G" was very attentive and was prompt with taking our orders and bringing out the drinks. Everyone was pretty happy with the dishes when it comes to taste overall. The gobernador is essentially a shrimp taco, but they were a little scant on the shrimp (still good though). Of note, they don't have any dessert if that's something of interest for you. They have heated lamps for the chillier days and have hand sanitizer readily available upon entrance and by the bathroom. read more
Visited this place after seeing it on the newsfeed on social media. The photos of the drinks were accurate. And the food was amazing. Our party of four ordered the guacamole, which was super fresh. We also ordered the fish tacos, spicy shrimp tacos and nachos, which had fresh fries within it. Everything was flavorful. I would definitely go back. Me and my two friends wanted to try cielito so bad, so we decided to go there on a Saturday night and arrive early to ensure we we're seated. We were so excited, but the wait disappointed us, we wait for almost 2 hours and when we finally got to the table we were rushed to order because the kitchen was going to close in less than 2 minutes. I didn't have time to read the menu and just order what I first saw!!! Out of that the food was great, I ordered the famous tacos the birria, very good and tasty 7/10 and the Route to Oaxaca for drink which was amazing 10/10. I recommend They should have a limited time per tables, it's not fair for anyone to wait for a table and not even have the time to enjoy the food or drink properly. read more

Pretty delicious tacos and drinks. I had La Michoacana drink for dessert. I also had the spicy shrimp tacos, delightful. Wish I could have ate it there, but got it to go and it still tasted good. Also got the tacos de birria they did not disappoint as well. Would def return. read more

Haven't been here since 2021 and I was sad when I came back they changed the way they made the nacho fries and chicken tacos :( it was still good but not worth the price in my opinion ... definitely cheaper options out there especially in queens read more

Drinks taste premade, it might be the syrup. But the worst part is they add gratuity for all tables AND charge a fee if you pay with a credit card even thought they don't advertise it. Do not recommend, not coming back. Food, ambiance and service are not worth it. read more
