Burritos are good. They come with a small green and red sauce, but when I purchase a larger red sauce, the small red sauce is not included. I would like to receive both! Why am I paying for something extra and not receiving the expected?
Came here for a quaint rainy night dinner and loved every bite! The service and ambiance were perfect and the each dish had the perfect flavor palate of charred onion and garlic. The red snapper was a highlight, crispy and had a light broth served along with a side of coconut rice and lime. The fajitas were truly a star though, my partner got the seitan option and it was served with tortilla, seasoned rice, garlicky spinach, tofu sour cream, guac and salsa fresca. Came back with friends a couple weeks after to try other options and they were fantastic! Loved everything we ordered and appreciated how authentic the food was from Puebla!
We had the sizzling fajita dish was delicious! I would have preferred for the chicken and steak to be sliced thicker than it was but it was good nonetheless. The Guac and their red salsa was incredible and for me, the best salsa I have had. The Paloma drink was good but my sister's margarita on the rocks was not and so she exchanged it for the Paloma. Service was as excellent and the decor there is cute.
This was probably the best brunch I've ever had! Service was great, the food was incredible and d the mango margaritas were great. Great deal for all you get. Will definitely be back!
I was deliciously surprised by my ceviche lunch yesterday. We started with a spicy margarita - aye aye aye that bad boy had some kick Followed by the best octopus tostada - the chunks of mango and jicama added the crunch while the sauce was lightly creamy. Then we shared mahi-mahi fish tacos that was seasoned perfectly. Now I need to try and replicate at home. This place has great service, great food and strong drinks. Gotta love it. Looking forward to try other dishes soon.

I called about 20 minutes prior to my arrival to make sure they could accommodate a table for 7 (5 adults 2 children). Upon our arrival, the table was already set up and awaiting us. There was one person working alone as the waiter, the bartender. And answering the phones. I didn't catch his name but he deserves a raise! He handled all the tables including ours flawlessly. My only complaint was that several items we asked for they didn't have. Can't remember them all but one was the chamomile mezcal for a drink we wanted to try. No taco salad that i had seen on Yelp. But the food portion and flavor made up for all of that. The don michi sour was incredible. A must try.

The service, food, drinks and environment was GREAT. This is my first time visiting and we ordered the unlimited brunch and drinks. For those of you who are still hesitant on coming to this restaurant it's $56 for the ALL THE FOOD AND DRINKS you can eat on the brunch menu. That literally means you can order and reorder anything you see in that menu. So they serve you the food in order that's listed on the menu and throughout an AMAZING waiter will serve you any drink you want! You can mix and match the drinks as well and there's even flavored margaritas that's not on the menu that's also included: mango, passion fruit and strawberries. Plus, the waiter was soooooo nice. He was so attentive and was always filling my drink. I dont think my cup was ever empty because he was always checking our table. My only regret was not getting his name....I would've given him a shout out. After you are served everything on the menu you can reorder anything you want. Additionally, next time you visit the restaurant, you can skip over the items you did not like the first time an focus on your favorite foods- I do recommend you take pictures of everything so you'll remember what you liked the most. Had a great late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The inside is large and bright and clean. We walked right in and got a table for 3. Things I love about the menu - vegetarian options, vegan options, brown rice option and wheat tortilla options. And reasonably priced. Plus there is bison burger on the menu - must try that another time! We shared guacamole and chips - very delicious, and a good portion. For our meal we each ordered tacos. Shrimp tacos are not on the menu but we requested it. I ordered 3 tacos but 2 probably would've been fine since I had chips and guacamole already. The shrimp was nicely grilled and the barbacoa was really delicious. The hot sauces are SO GOOD. The red one is hot and the green is mild. Be sure to ask for them! The hibiscus water is like a hibiscus iced tea and was perfect on a hot day. my friend had the papaya milkshake and said it was AMAZING

The food and the service were awesome. Staff very kind and accommodating! Happy hour specials are over the top. $6 sangria and $8 margarita. Different flavors available. Only on ice tho not frozen. The food was delicious. I recommend the happy hour nachos the Carnitas tacos and the chicken taco. Also happy hour tacos are 3/$10 read more
Who says I'm a Yelp Elite? I am! I went here all by myself on a not so cold Wednesday evening to go to my twelfth Yelp Elite Event feeling pumped up. The service there was also attentive and pleasan that I got a variety of different meat tacos, drank mojito and yres les leches for dessert. I couldn't agree more about it. Decent Mexican food at very reasonable prices especially for Astoria. The wait staff here are all great, very friendly. They no longer have a liquor license so no BYOB. The menu has the usual Mexican staples like tacos, burritos, etc. But they also have unusual items like squash blossom quesadilla which was very good. Another good dish is the taco salad. Very flavorful, albeit kinda small. The chicken taquito is another good dish. It's a good appetizer for sharing. Not too oily and it comes in six pieces. They have these sauces on the table, a green and red sauce that you can put on your food for more flavor. Surprisingly, the green sauce is terrible. No taste and very watery. Thankfully the red sauce is good. Had a nice kick to it. We doused our food with the red sauce. Overall, we found the food to be fresh, simple and honest with good vegetarian options. I finally came here and everything was amazing!! I'm glad to have discovered this place and will be visiting more often! The staff is very pleasant which is a big plus and everything from the rice and beans to the flan was exceptional!!! read more

Took the food for take out due to Covid 19 and I was so excited because I've been craving enchiladas but there was no flavor ; don't let the cheese fool you ; it had no flavor ! Same applied for the steak , chicken and shrimp tacos and I added extra lime ; I'm shocked this has never happened to me before read more

Craving fajitas? This is your new home. I came to De Mole with a group of friends and first thing first the sangria is BOMB! So easy to drink, fresh, and delicious. I was surprised. The service was great, very attentive and she got the order right. I had the De Mole Salad with tiger shrimp and it was out of this world. The shrimp was so delicious i had my friends eating from my bowl. I also had the chicken quesadilla, it was ok but it's missing something. I would personally not have put it in a crispy tortilla, i expected a soft one. That kind of threw me off but of course it didn't stop me from eating it! De Mole is one of our favorite choices for casual Mexican cuisine. We alternate between visiting De Mole in Astoria and the restaurant's original location in Sunnyside. Food: Very Good (3.5 of 5). The food here is mostly very good. Dishes We've Had: - Chicken Tacos: A little dry, would benefit from green sauce or red sauce. However, the last time we had the green sauce here, it was watery and very thin in flavor. - Enchiladas de Pollo con Mole Poblano (Chicken Enchiladas with Mole Sauce): Very Good. Made with chopped chicken, but easily shredded to nicely absorb the mole sauce. The mole poblano was nuanced in flavor, but a bit thin. - Sincronizadas Espinaca (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/de-mole-astoria-astoria?select=OMslYtfMxVnk0MRbHPOwng): One of our favorites, we usually get this. - Grilled Tilapia Fillet With Achiote Salad (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/de-mole-astoria-astoria?select=2JNPyj6Wm18GcsE2N39mXA): One of my favorites. - Taco Salad, with Chicken: The salad itself was light and tasty. I probably should have had the salad with shrimp instead of chicken to preserve the salad's lightness. - Chicken Taquitos: Not my thing. - Mexican Hot Chocolate: Recommended if you like hot chocolate. - The salsa accompanying the complimentary Nachos and Salsa is pretty good, too. Atmosphere: Good (3 of 5). Of the two De Mole locations in Queens, this Astoria location feels more spacious and less crowded. De Mole Astoria does not have a liquor license, which may contribute to the quietness of the location -- an undervalued attribute. The larger spacing between groups of tables here means greater physical separation between some groups of diners. There are separate, well-maintained bathrooms for men and women. My boyfriend and I were in the area where we were looking for fish tacos. I used my Yelp app (off course) and found this really well reviewed restaurant. Let's start with the ambience clean warm cozy. The service prompt polite and gracious. As you know I'm a field foodie the sangria was very tasty not overpowering with alcohol. My boyfriend ordered the fish and chicken tacos and I ordered the ribeye steak medium well. My meal was tantalizing just by the look and when I got a bite of my perfectly cooked medium well ribeye I began to see life differently. Never in my wildest dreams would I think I would find a perfectly good steak in this restaurant. My boyfriends tacos were really good as well so they were definitely worth the visit. A huge thank you to Oscar our server, for recommending some great choices. His quality customer service was by far unforgettable. We ended the night with some gooey center crispy churros and chocolate sauce. Then Oscar mentioned the magic words they were starting to have BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH on the weekends. We were deciding where to eat after visiting my cousin in the neighborhood, and after a Yelp search of Mexican restaurants we decided to check out De Mole Astoria due to the fact that it offered Seitan Vegetarian options, the attractive photos and high reviews. Tip: De Mole Astoria does not serve alcohol. We visited on a quiet mid-evening Sunday and the restaurant was fairly quiet as well, with a few patrons having dinner. The restaurant was nicely decorated, cozy and intimate. The wait staff was very friendly, attentive and accommodating as well, and the restaurant generally had a calm, relaxing vibe where you can enjoy yourself and have good conversations. Unfortunately, the food was very underwhelming in my opinion, and while pictures of the dishes looked delicious, they did not meet expectations after trying them. We ordered the De Mole Nachos (Corn chips with black beans, cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream) ($5.75). My cousin ordered the steak on the side since I am vegetarian, which brings the price up to $9.00, however I am discounting the meat since I did not try it. In terms of the nachos, we were surprised at how small of a portion they were. My cousin also made a comment about the nachos not being prepared, with the seperate ingredients on the bowl lined atop with the corn chips, however I did not mind this as much. The nachos weren't bad, but certainly not worth the price in terms of portion or taste. We also ordered the Espinaca Sincronizadas (Quesadillas with Sauteed Garlic Spinach, Monterrey Jack and Blanco Cheese, lettuce and pico de gallo) ($8 w/ larger size) as an appetizer. Surprisingly, this came out well after we received our entrees and after having to remind our waiter. The quesadillas were actually a much larger portion than we expected, and while the spinach was overtly watery with water spilling out, I enjoyed it with the hot sauce and guacamole/ sour cream from my fajita dish). In regards to the entree, I was excited to try the "fake meat" or seitan and decided to try the Seitan Fajita (Wheat Meat, Sauteed Garlic Spinach, Rice, Guacamole, Pico De Gallo, Sour Cream and Flour Tortillas) ($14). This was frankly not very good--the seitan had an interesting taste in the way it was seasoned and the spinach was fairly bland, but the meal was tolerable by mixing the various ingredients and adding a lot of hot sauce. Overall, we were greatly underwhelmed by the food experience at De Mole Astoria and will not be returning. read more
I've been to so many Mexican restaurants it's really difficult to keep track, however Mole has some unique features that sets it apart from the rest. Its cozy and small. It doesn't take itself too serious and offers authentic delicious Mexican food. I'm disappointed that there is no alchohol... that's a big No No for me. When you go out to eat an immerse yourself in a particular environment a great selection of alcohol makes a world of difference. That's the only reason it lost a star, other than that it's an above average Mexican restaurant at a great price. read more
