Stuffed banana peppers were so good that I forgot to take a picture before!
Amanda M.

Good service, good food, great experience! So happy we stopped in! We started with the too many appetizers because the selection was huge! Smothered fries: they had a crispy breading that kept it's crunch even after the gravy and cheese sat for a bit. Loved! Stuffed banana peppers: I would come back just to have this as my main entree. It's spicy so be ready! Fried pickles: they are pickle spears, but too much breading, our favorite! They have a kids menu with was classic. Grilled cheese, chix tenders, mac n cheese bites. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the Uncle Charleys sausage sandwich. We were stuffed!

Chicken broccoli alfredo, yummy!!

I went on a Sunday and there was only one other table. Food was terrible. Service was terrible. I wouldn't ever go back here.

Service is terrible. Food is mediocre and way over priced. Just a very unpleasant dining experience.

Gina was our server and was excellent from cocktails to to-go boxes. We are what one would call Italian food snobs but I promise being in her Authentic Italian kitchen was as good (great) as it gets! We all enjoyed a spring mix fresh house salad. We shared hot stuffed peppers with the amazing rustic homemade bread served with it and more bread was brought because we couldn't get enough of it! We had the following entrees. The on special tonight crab cake was huge and it was all crab meat, no filler but somehow she had it formed in the perfect crab cake formation. Delish. Also with a side of thin spaghetti. Two of us had the braciole atop a thin pasta. Out of this world delicious. And finally the veal Parmesan with a side of thin spaghetti was fabulous. We missed out on some of the homemade pies offered earlier in the night and shared two spumoni sundae looking creations! Anna came out to meet us which topped off our fabulous evening and we chatted about our Italy roots. She is absolutely beautiful and we said you look so fresh after preparing all this for us - she has an Italian secret I am sure! Class, kindness, and warmness accompanied by delicious cuisine keeps her patrons coming back. All staff were wonderful and we thank Gina for her attentiveness and fun. We'll be back! Anna's is on our top list! Price reasonable and worth more than the dollars spent. Thank you. Buon appetito!

Mediocre at best. Left very disappointed and underwhelmed after dining at Anna's. I had hoped for…read morean upscale and exceptional dinner, but that never materialized. Extremely expensive (for example: $22 for plain spaghetti & 1 meatball) and a very kind, but extremely overwhelmed waitress. One waitress trying to serve 6-7 tables at the same time. A party of six, no appetizers, no drinks/alcohol, no desserts, and only 1 soda (everyone else has water only), and our bill was over $200. Even the salad that came with your entree was quite bland (only 2 tomato slices, nothing else). Sauce was not mixed in the pasta dishes (spaghetti & gnocchi), just lumped on top. Extra meatballs were $4 each! I strongly believe a meal at Flavio's in Apollo would be a much better Italian dining experience. Anna's really needs to strive to do better, especially with such highly priced entrees.

When I first contacted him he replied almost immediately and set up a time to talk with me about our preferences, dietary restrictions and overall food vibes. He sent me a menu within a day and welcomed feedback. Tonight we sat at the bar where we were able to see into the open kitchen and Chef Anthony walked us through every dish (both ours and those of other diners). Everything was delicious and with the exception of the cannoli shell, made from scratch, in house. Portions were huge for an almost 8 course meal and the pacing was great. The other staff were wonderful and beyond the flavorful food, the pricing is very reasonable. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. He also recently lost his sous chef due to him being in a really unfortunate accident. So if anyone knows someone looking for work... he's hiring.

I'll post a photo of the menu, but here are some of my thoughts: Turkey - so delicious Mashed potatoes - perfection Stuffing - I loved it but the kids didn't. Honestly they probably would have preferred Stove Top though. Green beans - very tasty but not great as a leftover Cranberry chutney - ok, I love the canned stuff but this was truly a hit. Rolls and butter - literally such delicious butter! Apple pies - they were more like empanadas. I was expecting mini round pies. The crust was amazing but the apples were a bit tart. The pickup was easy and seamless. Everything was packed well. Thank you! We can't wait to come in to eat soon.

My wife, who's Italian, wants to take this +1 hour trip several times a year just to come here because it reminds her of the various "Mom & Pop" restaurants of her hometown in northeast PA. It sits in downtown DuBois with plenty of parking options nearby. The restaurant is good sized but it also does a lot of business so plan ahead on the weekends. The inside has a cozy/hometown feel with pictures of their family all over the walls. I don't think much has changed to the interior in those 20 years and that's okay by me. For this outing we opted for the antipasta salad, Italian wedding soup, veal parm and stuffed manicotti. Their dishes are more traditional italian (i.e. not olive garden) and they offer lunch, half, or full-sized portions. Their gravy has a good balance between sweet and savory. They also make a great fresh baked loaf of bread and they're happy to bring several to the table throughout the course. It was a special occasion so we closed out the night with their famous strawberry cheesecake. Service was excellent and the bill, with several drinks, was around $60 for 2. This is not a chain; it has character, it's not polished but it's a true gem of spot in rural PA. I'm glad places like this still exist!

Because we wanted to support a small business in the community that we live in. My personal hope was that it would improve somewhere along the way .My family and I have had horrendous service especially the past three times so unfortunately we will not be going back. Maybe only to order takeout. I will tell you about the past two times. My husband and I walked in on a busy Saturday evening with no reservations (silly I know). Everybody that worked in the whole restaurant walked past multiple times without saying a word. I guess everyone else thought that someone else said greeted us or asked how many. No exaggeration, we stood there for 20 minutes before a bus boy even ask how many. He said he just had to clean a table. He sat us down eventually and I could see/hear a server yelling at the young teen demanding to know why he sat her. He came over to get our drink order and I asked if she was mad that he sat us. He kind of mumbled something and I said,"Well,, if she doesn't want our business then we can just leave." My husband left it up to me and we got up and walked out because at this point I already had a bad taste in my mouth .Having been a server for over 10 years myself I was very offended by this treatment. We are very easy to take care of and are good tippers so she missed out on probably $20 right there. Your staff could say Buddy "I'll be with you in a minute." That would even be better than outright ignoring your customers standing there waiting to give you their business... The very last time we went, I made reservations for my family of four at 6:45 on a Friday. We arrived at about 6:40. Again, every worker in the whole restaurant walked past without acknowledging us. After about 10 minutes a bus boy asked how many. I said four and that we had reservations for 6:45. He didn't say anything and walked away. I could see at least two empty and clean tables on both side sides of the restaurant. At 7:05 I asked the same bus boy what was going on. He said they were just waiting to clean a table, and as I previously stated there were already clean tables. A party came in behind us and another bus boy asked right away if that was the rest of our party. I pretty much said no and that our whole party was here waiting already and that it was just the four of us and we had a reservation for 6:45.He said something about this is why I should've asked you myself. He told us(at 7:10) to follow him and took us to one of the empty booths that had been open the whole time we were standing there. He apologized profusely and then got our drinks. The server that we had wasn't very friendly but took our order right away. The bus boy brought our soups and salad, got us refills, took our dirty plates, and got us boxes. I feel as though he should've gotten the tip seeing as how the server only took our order and dropped the check off. Your bus boys are wonderful and keep your restaurant running smoothly.
