    Tomato vodka fettuccine

Doesn't look like much when you pass by but when I read the reviews we had to give this place a try. We aren't from the area, as we had just got off the lake, and just walked in. As many establishments during these trying times, they require reservations because of staffing. Thank goodness the had a cancellation and were able to accommodate us right away. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Now for the food. My husband ordered the wedding soup, which he wasn't a fan of at all. We ordered the shrimp parmigiana appetizer and it was absolutely delicious! A must get! My wedge salad was very good. He order the veal saltimbocca that he really enjoyed. And I wanted to try their tomato vodka sauce so I chose the fettuccine noodles and was very satisfied. The noodles were fresh and they dressed the pasta with fresh basil. We were stuffed and had to box left over to take home. This place is certainly worth a try. So happy we took the time to stop. And as far as the 60s decor, we found it charming and made it more authentic!

Best kept secret in the Kiski Valley. Best cuts of meat. Great atmosphere. Carol serves a killer drink. You can't go wrong with this choice.

The service was great! The ambiance took me back and reminded me of Carbones. The food mediocre at best.

She's the spark of the dining experience with her homemade everything! Gina was our server and was excellent from cocktails to to-go boxes. We are what one would call Italian food snobs but I promise being in her Authentic Italian kitchen was as good (great) as it gets! We all enjoyed a spring mix fresh house salad. We shared hot stuffed peppers with the amazing rustic homemade bread served with it and more bread was brought because we couldn't get enough of it! We had the following entrees. The on special tonight crab cake was huge and it was all crab meat, no filler but somehow she had it formed in the perfect crab cake formation. Delish. Also with a side of thin spaghetti. Two of us had the braciole atop a thin pasta. Out of this world delicious. And finally the veal Parmesan with a side of thin spaghetti was fabulous. We missed out on some of the homemade pies offered earlier in the night and shared two spumoni sundae looking creations! Anna came out to meet us which topped off our fabulous evening and we chatted about our Italy roots. She is absolutely beautiful and we said you look so fresh after preparing all this for us - she has an Italian secret I am sure! Class, kindness, and warmness accompanied by delicious cuisine keeps her patrons coming back. All staff were wonderful and we thank Gina for her attentiveness and fun. We'll be back! Anna's is on our top list! Price reasonable and worth more than the dollars spent. Thank you. Buon appetito!

Extremely expensive (for example: $22 for plain spaghetti & 1 meatball) and a very kind, but extremely overwhelmed waitress. One waitress trying to serve 6-7 tables at the same time. A party of six, no appetizers, no drinks/alcohol, no desserts, and only 1 soda (everyone else has water only), and our bill was over $200. Even the salad that came with your entree was quite bland (only 2 tomato slices, nothing else). Sauce was not mixed in the pasta dishes (spaghetti & gnocchi), just lumped on top. Extra meatballs were $4 each! I strongly believe a meal at Flavio's in Apollo would be a much better Italian dining experience. Anna's really needs to strive to do better, especially with such highly priced entrees.

It's a type of duplex with a restaurant on one side and a (smokey) bar on the other. The two establishments share a kitchen, staff, and an interior hallway. There is metered parking on the street. It is very inexpensive, but the meters are coin-operated only. Do be sure to take cash. I didn't realize this was a cash only place until we were already eating our ordered meals. When the bill came, I had just enough cash to cover the total, so I ended up using the ATM in the attached bar to get money for a tip -- it cost me $6 in fees! If I had known the establishment was cash only, we would have skipped the drinks and fries and had enough for a tip. (Looking back, I also could have not given any tip, driven to a bank or fee-free ATM to get cash, and driven back to deliver an even bigger tip for less than it cost to use the ATM there. Ugh.) But, you are reading this review, so you will know to go to your meal with coins for the parking meters, and some cash for your food and a tip! We visited on a quiet afternoon, and were pleased with our food and service. The fries could have used a bit more salt, but it's easier to add your own salt than to try to remove it. When we arrived, my son saw our table preset with coffee mugs, and requested his apple juice in a mug. Our server happily served it to him that way, and laughed with him as he pretended it was hot tea. The other server was helpful with the menu, and made sure we knew what our food would be. (We hadn't, so this was very appreciated!) The tables were also set with clever paper advertising place mats which had a word search for kids and adults. Overall, this was a nice place to eat, and I wouldn't mind returning.

It is what it is though. Our favorite pizza toppings are: Cheese only Bacon, Pepperoni, Ham White pizza with spinach, Feta, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Our favorite sub are: The cheesesteaks plain. Meat and cheese. We hit it with our own sauce at the house. And the Italian - no onions of course. When it comes to Vocellis- You have to eat it fast. Get it home and kill it while it's hot. Not the best reheated, especially in the microwave. Unlike Pizza Hut- which is edible. Lol Reheating in the oven is awesome. I would say that their main flaws are 1. Too much toppings - l don't know how it's possible to say it- I love pizza toppings, they just overdo it. 2. They have that chain feel although the pizza is awesome!!! 3. They are inconsistent sometimes. Very Rare, but sometimes. I personally like a cooked pizza with the toppings somewhat almost overdone. They are not consistent with how the pizza is made. Again/ it's nearly always perfect to my families liking - it just seems as though the cooking time could be a minute or so more maybe. The dough has always been cooked, but once, and then they delivered a fresh order to us within 15-20 minutes. 4. Delivery drivers always seem rushed. I'm not sure why, but the pizza, sub, and wing deliveries in my area Almost always seem as though they just hand the pizza over, maybe a sign here, and a hearty goodbye. To me, they don't deserve more than a $5 tip, although we nearly have always given more. They just don't apply amazing service as their food is. Especially Vocellis I feel when your giving a tip of $7+, you should get a hey, nice to meet you or see you again- 'Thank you "etc, for ordering from us. Or Hi there, (they should know our name by now- same drivers pretty much which is awesome for employee retention) Here is your order, meal, or whatever Etc etc. Then a "Have an amazing night, day, etc. Hope to see you next time" For Vocelli's, These four flaws do not change if they are busy or not. It seems there is never any issues with respect to their customers whatsoever. They are always friendly and well adjusted to every circumstance when it comes to customer relations... from the inside of the business. Unlike Pizza Hut employees that are to busy to talk to me when walking in, the uncooked or wrongly cooked orders which don't happen often, but happen about 1 out of 10 times. The employees that just don't match with my needs or desires In a chain that is well known for their PAN or Stuffed Crust pizzas- that my son adores. Lol Pizza Hut now has someone in a different state or country (who knows) answering your order for this glorious huge chain that has an amazing name for you. I would say by far, the worst Pizza Hut I have ever been to when it comes to my specific area. Another chain near me is Fox's Pizza and the horrid manager. Watch out for her. She's on or off, very very off of busy as well as the times for pizza, etc. I have always had a bad experience there when she is around. Otherwise, it's a nice environment that seems a little rushed. Both of these chains, Pizza Hut and Fox's Pizza especially fox's pizza are not the best. Which is the main reason we mainly order from Vocelli's, even though I seek Variety in food. Then there is the local wood fired pizza. I thought it would be amazing - but, unfortunately- bleh. Hope this all helps in your decision!!! -b
