Scallops
Darian K.

I really should go here more I absolutely love the fresh seasonal menu and home grown ingredients they use and anywhere in kittanning that can do scallops right gets a vote from me. Recently had the scallops with zucchini, shallots, potatoes and green beans, it was delightful and a pleasant alternative to pasta. My sister who is vegetarian was also easily accommodated with a vodka sauce pasta dish. The outdoor seating is great, especially during this pandemic, and they have a good wine selection with actually decent wines, another thing you don't really see in kittanning. I'll be back soon!

Yellow Cake w/ a Maple Bourbon Frosting. And a Snickerdoodle and Chocolate Chip cookies..

Ellen and I had lunch at A Mano's in Kittanning today. Ellen had the Breaded Chicken Breast w/ roasted charry tomatoes and mild garden pepper salsa, $14. I had the Fettuccine Bolonaise - home-made pasta served with a rich meat sauce,$12. I had bread with mine! They were both fantastic! Always a great dining experience. Good food, great service and most important, good prices. Excuse the dishes, we started to eat before we took the pictures. Always a great presentation. Angelo has his own garden for the restaurant. Here are some of the vegs he grows. You can eat inside or outside on his deck or order to pick up.

Seating just inside the door. Decor features vintage cooking tools and artwork made from authentic Polish linen kitchen towels.

My second visit this year and just as good as the first! We four shared a well-varied antipasto plate as well as fried zucchini and then lunched on the tortellini with creamy Gorgonzola sauce, the chicken Parmesan and sandwiches. Check their website or instagram @amanoeatery250 for current menu!Everyone here aims to make your visit a filling and satisfying one! Bakery is open Tuesday--Saturday; come for lunch Tuesday--Friday and make plans soon for dinner Thursday--Saturday. At my visit in April, we three shared a bowl of delectable soup and an amazing pasta bolognese so that we could save room for the amazing desserts and coffee! We will be back!

Delicious lunches and pastries that are made fresh every day. I've been at parties where the catered food was from here and it was amazing.

My wife, who's Italian, wants to take this +1 hour trip several times a year just to come here because it reminds her of the various "Mom & Pop" restaurants of her hometown in northeast PA. It sits in downtown DuBois with plenty of parking options nearby. The restaurant is good sized but it also does a lot of business so plan ahead on the weekends. The inside has a cozy/hometown feel with pictures of their family all over the walls. I don't think much has changed to the interior in those 20 years and that's okay by me. For this outing we opted for the antipasta salad, Italian wedding soup, veal parm and stuffed manicotti. Their dishes are more traditional italian (i.e. not olive garden) and they offer lunch, half, or full-sized portions. Their gravy has a good balance between sweet and savory. They also make a great fresh baked loaf of bread and they're happy to bring several to the table throughout the course. It was a special occasion so we closed out the night with their famous strawberry cheesecake. Service was excellent and the bill, with several drinks, was around $60 for 2. This is not a chain; it has character, it's not polished but it's a true gem of spot in rural PA. I'm glad places like this still exist!

We got our Thanksgiving catering from Albero Verde this year. I had been there to celebrate a…read moresuccessful fundraiser for Living Stones and saw the advertising about the Thanksgiving options. I'll post a photo of the menu, but here are some of my thoughts: Turkey - so delicious Mashed potatoes - perfection Stuffing - I loved it but the kids didn't. Honestly they probably would have preferred Stove Top though. Green beans - very tasty but not great as a leftover Cranberry chutney - ok, I love the canned stuff but this was truly a hit. Rolls and butter - literally such delicious butter! Apple pies - they were more like empanadas. I was expecting mini round pies. The crust was amazing but the apples were a bit tart. The pickup was easy and seamless. Everything was packed well. Thank you! We can't wait to come in to eat soon.

Our waitress Ellie was attentive, patient, and helpful for our party of 9. She was even willing to give some of the guests tea bags from her own stash! Our group of 9 tried almost everything on the menu. They have a small menu with a few appetizers and main courses along with some desserts. Because we were a larger group, at least one of us got something on the menu. We also shared, so I tried many of the dishes! They gave us an amuse bouche, which was aracini with caramelized onions and peppers. DELICIOUS. I wanted more. We also got foccacia with an oil dipping sauce. The focaccia was denser than usual, but I loved it! Here's what we tried: [Sausage Greens & Beans]: A traditional Italian dish that was absolutely delicious. There was so much flavor between the panchetta, beans, escarole, and sausage. This dish was out of my comfort zone but so delightful. [Crispy Brussel Sprouts]: Man! These were good. They were perfectly charred and paired with a spicy sauce that took this dish to the next level. [Wedding Soup]: A little non-traditional since their noodles were much larger, but I loved the denser meatballs. [Caesar Salad]: My husband loved this dish! The croutons made the dish extra, and it was well dressed and slightly lemony. [Warm Mushroom Salad]: I hate mushrooms but I loved this. The rosemary smoked mushrooms were the star of this dish. [Shrimp Risotto]: This was so creamy and flavorful! [Chicken Marsala]: This dish was out of this world! The rosemary smoked mushrooms gave this dish a perfectly smokey flavored. The chicken was stuffed and accompanied with lyonnaise potatoes that were so crispy and delicious. [Roasted Veggie Rolled Lasagna]: Wow was this dish flavorful. The variety of vegetables were perfect, and the roaster red pepper ricotta in the middle was just what this dish needed. [Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie]: This was the perfect fall dessert. Apple turnovers, peaches, and pumpkin pie mousse. The perfection portion and not overly sweet! This restaurant made it to my top 5, and it was so delicious. All of the flavors were so complex! You need to try this restaurant or you'll really be missing out! I cannot wait to try more items on their menus as their specials and menu changes. Such a hidden gem!

I really enjoy that the pasta is fresh and the menu isn't 40 pages long. It's straight to the point and you know what you're getting based on what is listed under the pasta shape. My short rib ricotta gnocchi was good but I do wish it had a bit more salt to bring more of the flavor to the front. The gnocchi texture was perfect and pillowy. The short rib mixed in nicely with all of the pasta and the sauce. My spouse enjoyed the cannelloni, which was pretty much their lasagna but also wanted a bit more salt. Our server was very nice and walked us through the menu options as well as told us about the seafood special for the night. The bread came out first and was delicious. The salad was also good and I don't usually like arugula. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and I enjoy that they take the time to do that. The space is very cute and you can't really miss it even with it being in an executive building. It's a smaller area but it can seat a good amount of people. We noticed they had a pasta making class so maybe next time we're in town, we can do it. The red sangria had a great balance where it wasn't too sweet. We didn't do dessert but we did enjoy the digestif at the end with limoncello and my spouse ate the amaretti cookies as I couldn't.

The pasta shapes are unlike anything else you'll find in Western PA. They even offer complimentary limoncello and Amaretti cookies to end your meal, which is a really nice touch. They have family style options for groups who want to try a variety of dishes, but the menu is just as fitting for a date night. Bonus: the leftovers taste just as good the next day! The space can get a bit loud with high ceilings and a full house, but the lively energy reflects how much people are enjoying the experience. Service was friendly and helpful with suggestions. The owner even stopped by tables to check on guests. It's tucked inside an industrial park and may be a little tricky to find if you're unfamiliar with the area, but GPS and signage get you there without much trouble. Definitely worth the visit!
