My wife and I came there for dinner to try out the restaurant. I order our favorite beef fajita dishes. The order took sometime to some out and when it did, the beef was stale and cold as if the beef has been left out of hours. my wife and daughter are at this location at least once a month and have always had good service. As a celiac sufferer it is nice that their wait staff is so knowledgeable and knows how to handle customers with food allergies. Tonight though I must commend them for a far different reason. As we were leaving I left my daughter's to go box on the table. By the time I had realized it the table had already been bused. The waitress saw me and I explained what happens and she spoke with her manager. Her manager told me that they would make a whole new meal for her and it would be ready for me shortly. I was taken back by his generosity because it was my error but gladly accepted. Within 5 min I had a new meal in hand complete with chips and dip to go. Good service is hard to find sometimes but at this Chute you can always expect the best. read more

We got here at 8pm hoping to eat quickly and catch a 9pm movie. There were a few people waiting for a table so we elected to eat at the bar. I got a mojito and my guy got a beer. The bartender was extremely catering. We got chips and a green/ranch type dip and a pico dip. Both were yummy. The chips were good. ..light, crispy, and warm. I ordered the tacos al carbon and he ordered the fish tacos, but requested them grilled. ...which was no problem at all. We downed one basket of chips. They were that good and the dips were that good. ;) Our food came and I wasn't extremely excited about my plate. The tacos al carbon were basically fajita meat in tortillas loaded down with onions and bell pepper. They were also juiced up which made them pretty soggy. The meat was really good. Food was very spicy. By the time I got to my second taco, it was too soggy to pick up. So I just ate the fajita meat. My dish came with a tomato spanish rice and my guy's came with a white rice. ...probably more of a cuban style rice. While we were eating, a different bartender came by with a free shot. ...always a plus in my book! And it was delish! We got our bill, which came to a mere $24.00. ...dinner for $24 with two drinks?!? ...okay, we'll definitely go back. We got out of there at 8:40 with plenty of time to catch our show. read more

We hadn't been to Chuy's in some time and after tonight's visit, we won't be back. We stood at the hostess counter to be seated (there was no one ahead of us). It took two hostesses to ring up a single shirt for a customer. Finally, the manager acknowledged us and finally, the hostess did and took us to our seats. After about 8-10 minutes, a server finally came to the table to take our drink order. My husband sensed that this wasn't going to be a night of great (or even mediocre) service, and he was correct. Our meal was served quickly and the Baja tacos were as good as we remembered, but the salsa was so hot it was inedible, as was the rice. About halfway through our meal, we had to flag down the server to ask for more water. She never noticed that the glasses were on the edge of the table, empty. We finished our meal and kept waiting for our server to come back. After 20 minutes, we found another server and asked him to find ours. He ended up bringing our check and taking our payment back to her. She only offered as an excuse that she had a table of 15 in the back. My response was that we were there first and at the very least, she could have asked another server to close us out. It was apparent that since she had the larger party in back, we became insignificant. There are many other, much better, Mexican restaurants in the area and we will now choose to patronize those instead of Chuy's. read more

When we moved from Austin to Houston in March 2011 there were a number of things I knew I would miss and even a few that caused some level of separation anxiety. I must confess the thought of saying goodbye to Chuy's was one of them. So you can imagine my...well...elation, really, when we went for a drive around our new neighborhood, turned onto I-45 close to NASA and saw a Chuy's! It was sheer luck we hadn't yet had lunch. "Oh my God! Look! "Pull in! Pull in!" My husband and I were almost beside ourselves. The atmosphere was almost perfect - in Austin they're a little funkier or something; hard to explain - the menu is identical. The real test? The food is exactly what I've come to expect! Chuy's is great for us vegetarians because not only do they have several meatless entrees but their beans & rice are all vegetarian which is hard to find in many Tex-Mex restaurants. My fave is the #7 combo: veggie enchilada and a cheese rellano. Service is always excellent though it can be quite a wait for a table even during non-peak hours. It's definitely worth the wait, especially if you've never been here. You're sure to return over and over and each time you'll mind the wait a little less. read more

My wife and I stopped in around 4:00 PM for dinner. We were told it would be 45-50 minutes wait. The hostess directed us to the bar where we could get an appetizer while we waited. The bartender did tell us they served a full menu at the bar if we wanted. We ordered the Queso Compuesto. queso with sirloin, and it was excellent. Before we finished with it the coaster buzzer went off. The wait was more like 20 minutes. Dinner was great. I had my fav, Elvis Green Chili Fried Chicken. My wife had the Combo 3, the taco and enchilada plate. Service was prompt and the fodd was hot. The waitress was a little overwhelmed, mostly due tho the place being packed and her being new. She was trying and I give her credit for that. All in all it was a good and we will be back. read more

I'm so sick to my stomach after eating at Chuy's in Webster! :/ I've never been there before last night and I'll never go back. I knew I wasn't going to like their food as soon as I tried their chips and bland salsa. The creamy jalapeno sauce was the only thing I enjoyed, besides the iced tea. I had their chicken flautas- the dish was all together bland, even the rice. I would have preferred going to Taco Cabana over this place. Now I'm up at 4am with a killer stomach ache. I must revise the review I wrote when I first went there/here. I can to realize just how much had changed since the days when it was on richmond. The flautas are even different. And not in a good way. Well this past saturday, may 21 2011 to be exact we had a girls night dinner and and I was the first to take my order then so on. Our waiter was either just swamped or idk what. Well let me rewind a min. We had a large group of ladies coming &were told to call in advance, well we did. Then when we get there (that's at alil to 7) and they tell us we have wait til half our group is there.. Do we end up waiting over an hour &i an starving by now. Finally I guess they start to feel sorry for us & and start to seat us, but are group is not coming. The manager offers up some free queso..i hate it but the girls loved it. Waiter comes around & takes our order. I am not an ass but I know how I like my food. After what feels like am hr and half our food comes out. Everyone is about to digg in except for my bff & I.and even she is lucky bc they are coming with her plate...but still me no food & the side of beans & rice is still during on the serving tray not in my belly. So then the waiter comes w/2 small cups of soup..I'm no I ordered a bowl...so I trell him note that's not what I order..the guy takes it back & another waiter comes to the table & states that in the whole place they have no clean bowls of large soup. So I continue while all my friends are eating their food..but me. So I got tired of waiting asked to speak to a manager he days there are no clean bowls & if it wld be ok for then to send 3 cups of soup also they will no longer charge me for it, I say fine, by this time I am famished. When I finally get my soup out is in a bowl after all and my friends are done. Not saying I.do not like them but damn that was along wait for some soup. My boyfriend and I eat here almost once a week! We love their food and would recommend this place to anyone. The prices are fantastic, and the food is delicious. I will be honest in saying that we both have found our favorite dish and we order it every time now so we have not tried everything on the menu by any means. I get the Classic Tex Mex enchiladas (delicious cheese enchiladas with onions and their yummy Tex Mex sauce on top), and my boyfriend gets the Elvis Fried Chicken with boom boom sauce! We love going here because we know we never have to wait more than 10 minutes, if that, for the two of us. Plus we love the food, we love the creamy jalapeño sauce, and we get out of there without spending a fortune which is awesome for such an overall good eating experience. I have gotten their margaritas before and they are yummy but I really prefer not to drink with a meal so I usually just get water with lemon and it tastes good, not like tap water! I really do enjoy going to this restaurant so much, I look forward to it every week! read more

Make sure to 0.00 out the tip space and write the total on your credit card slip when purchasing tshirts. We went in for lunch on 29July15 and after eating a meal consisting of huge portions of blandness served by "way hipper than you" waiters/waitresses we went to the cashier to buy tshirts in a separate transaction from the meal. The total for 6 shirts was $64.39. We paid for the shirts with a credit card, signed the slip but left the tip and total blank as the total was already printed on the receipt. 31July15 I check my credit card website and it shows $68.39 cleared from Chuys in Webster. Knowing for a fact that we didn't tip the tshirt girls (who tips the broads that stuff a shirt in a sack?), I called "Dave" the manager to inquire and sure enough a $4.00 tip was written on the receipt. "Dave" refunded the $4.00 without going so far as to say that one of his employees committed credit card fraud and offered a free meal for two - which was declined. Shady practices and meh food won't earn repeat business. The corporate headquarters in Austin has also been notified but still awaiting a reply read more

We love this place! The food is great, chips and salsa are awesome, so are the margaritas. Tortilla soup and/or crunchy tacos are our usual fare. One major negative: kids and babies in the bar area. We typically like to sit in the bar area because you can sit pretty quickly but last couple of times the area has been filled with crying babies, kids running around and making a big mess. A toddler in the booth behind us was basically in our booth the entire time and small children were sitting at the bar....sorry not a big fan of kids at bars. read more

This restaurant has an unbelievably dirty dining room. Floors were sticky and covered in muck that could only result from months of neglect. The pictures hanging on the wall were covered in dust stuck to the thick layer of greasy filth that had built up. The salt and pepper caddy shared an equally grotesque build up that had also extended over the top of the shakers. The warrior painting next to our table had a generously interpreted male anatomy scribbled on it that was only noticed when our son laughingly asked about, "that man doing poo-poo!" And all for just under $70! Then and since my only thought about this restaurant is: if the dining area is so blatantly filthy, what must the kitchen look like?!? When the food came out, the two beef fajita burritos that were ordered contained very little meat despite the up-charge. When the waiter noticed our table discussing this, he indicated that this was a common complaint and offered to have it remade. We declined. I for one will never eat here again. read more

I love Mexican food. In Kansas City we had an awesome Mexican place that we went to a lot. So after moving here we decided to give Chuys a try. I was slightly disappointed when I found out it was tex-mex. We brought my boyfriend's 9 yr old daughter with us, they didn't have a kids section on the menu. If they had one our server failed to bring it to our attention. She was pretty disappointed. She ended up ordering the cheese quesadillas off the appetizer menu, they were pretty good. My boyfriend ordered one of the really big. Chicken burritos, it was your average burrito. I ordered the chicka chicka boom boom, chicken enchiladas with green tomatilla sauce. It was pretty good, a little spicy. The one thing we didn't like was the salsa, it was basically just chunks of stuff and the cilantro was really overpowering. The cheese dip was OK. And I really liked the frozen strawberry Margarita. We will probably eat there again. read more

For a larger Tex-Mex chain Chuy's is one of the best in the Bay Area. Extensive menu selection (if you are up to it try Elvis platter) at reasonable prices. Typically crowded so go early or be prepared for a short wait. Great tortilla soup as well. read more

This Chuy's has a bit more space to it than others in which I have eaten. The food is consistent, the creamy jalapeno dipping sauce is spectacular, the happy hour with free queso, salsa, pico, and beans in the bar area is always great. Have been eating at Chuy's since I discovered it during college and this location is one of the better ones. My only issue with any Chuy's (this one included) is their cocktail/bar menu is fair but I really don't like their mojitos (a drink I usually love). They blend their mint rather than muddeling it in glass. Doing so can leave you with the ever so wonderful mint-pieces-in-your-teeth look. My husband and I were out shopping one day and decided we needed something to eat. So, I started going through menu's on my phone, searching the local spots. And there it was, the picture of the most wonderful creation I ever saw. The Big As Your Face Burrito. I had to have it. We go there and was served some great chips and the most wonderful jalapeno cream yum, yum, yum dip and some fresh salsa. Ordered tea, very weak. And then our burrito's came. VERY disappointing! Hubby got seasoned ground sirloin with ranchero sauce and I had the oven roasted chicken with hatch chili sauce. It was basically a bean burrito with barely any meat on it. The chicken tasted foul, no pun intended, and the sirloin wasn't even visible. The sauces were bland. I loved how our server said, "the hatch is really spicy." It had 3 chili peppers by it, implying it was one of their "spicier" sauces. I don't know who they had decide that sauce was spicy, but I think they could serve it in an old folks home. We might try again, because the fajita's looked fabulous. But that burrito is a big fat no. read more
