Torchy's has a wide array of delicious tacos, a new one to try every month, and they also have a delicious queso. What more do you really need? The inside in an order at the counter situation, there's plenty of seating with both inside and outside options. The service is minimal since you order at the counter, but the employees have always been friendly. There's a bar which I've never approached since I'm a water kind of gal, but it goes right with the vibe of the place. It's kind of weird that a fast-casual restaurant where you order at the counter has a bar... but they do, and it works I guess. Not much to say about Torchy's. It's not my number 1 choice for tacos, but it's still a really good number 2! read more

The tacos really were damn good! I got the Republican, without avocado but with sour cream, and it was delicious! Really fresh tasting, and the corn tortillas were so good! What wasn't great were the fountain drinks. They tasted watered down, and we were all drinking different sodas. That's the only reason I took off a star. Came to torchys for lunch while in town for work because it was highly recommended. The restaurant was nice and clean and really fun! Got the republican and crossroads taco and they both were so flavorful and delicious! We also ordered queso for the table and that was very very addicting. Everything tasted so good! Service was also excellent and very fast. The staff were all very kind as well. The atmosphere was pretty much what you'd expect for a Torchys Tacos joint. Pretty impressed with this location. Went to get a quick bite with the wife and left disappointed. The cashier at the entrance was short, meaning had zero patience for us while ordering. She also suggested we don't order our drinks there, but instead order at the bar, "they prefer that." The bar staff was ok, but she couldn't care less to serve us or not. The place has maybe 10 customers total. The beer I ordered was almost warm, my wife's drink was ok. When we received our food, that's when disappointment really set in. I ordered the Chili Wagon, supposed to be New Mexico green chili, this looks like avocado sauce from H‑E‑B. The flavor indicates this was not hatch "new Mexico" green chili. I took a pic of the tacos, lackluster to say the least. The other taco was Brushfire, the canned mango gave it a mushy texture, any def respecting islander would chuck this in the trash. So 4 mediocre at best, tacos, for $20+, $15 for a beer and a drink. I would say that taco cabana offers a better value and equal or better quality food. Then with almost an hour to closing, they guy is mopping it sweeping under our table! The other girl walking around cleaning, is on her Bluetooth having a personal conversation, that was not appropriate. This place has gone downhill, sad part is they don't seem to care. read more

We love going here on a whim and I decided to order outside of my comfort zone. I usually just get the Trailer Park and call it a day. It's really a hit or miss with torchy's in my opinion. I love some of the tacos and then I hate the others. I particularly did not enjoy the republican; that one is way too oily. The oils were dripping down with every bite. It literally made me lose my appetite. However the brushfire my husband ordered which is basically charred chicken and mango pieces, that was surprisingly very good. Overall, I give this place a strong 3.5/5 stars. Go for the feel of it but maybe next time, I'll just stick to my favorite instead of being spontaneous. read more

The tacos are good - yes. But the service is so slow. They forget changes that are requested to the order (to-go order and order in-store). You HAVE to scan your reward code when you order. No IFs ANDs or BUTs about that. Things a hassle if you forget (at the time of ordering). Management wouldn't even log in and upload the points on a $60+ order and you cannot enter receipt code. Ambiance: inside the restaurant is pretty large with seating for 4 people and a few booths for larger groups. I saw a condensed bar with some 4 tv's to watch a game while on your lunch break. They also offer outdoor seating. The music above head is pretty average for sound level. I entered the building and the menu was right there for me to view. I went to order the brushfire, however they were out so I opted for the mofaux and the tipsy chick. I was happy to learn they offered both a flour and corn tortilla as I opt for corn. Service: the cashier behind the register was very engaging and inviting. It was pleasant to speak with him. There was an issue with the card machine while I was attempting to pay however he reset the machine and it worked perfectly. For all healthcare workers they do offer a discount. I cal during my lunch break in scrubs but bring your work ID for them to validate it for you. It took about 20 minutes to receive 2 tacos, I opted for them to be to go and the person brought them out as if I was dining in. Food: the food was pretty bland, for the price I paid and the wait for them I figured it would be amazing. It tasted something similar to what I could get from Taco Bell with a higher price. I would not recommend anyone going here that likes authentic tacos. If you're looking for good service and Taco Bell level food this would be a good place. I for one would not be retuning to this brand. read more

Armando the Manager was very professional and knows customer service, hopefully the employees busing the tables will learn better customer service. We order to-go regularly but have also recently dined inside. The food is always consistently tasty. My favorite is the tipsy chick taco. We enjoy the simplicity of their kids menu. A gentleman who seemed to be a manager was walking around and checking on guests, and we appreciated that. I've frequented here since its opening despite not being nearly as good as the Austin locations. When ordering to-go, it's always a roll of the dice as to what I receive. It's not uncommon for me to make two trips to get the correct items. Tonight, I received a chicken taco instead of the beef quesadilla ordered. It was good, but dripping in grease -- something you'd never see at the Austin locations. To make it worse, I walked up to a DoorDash driver going through my food. And the avocado looks past its expiration. They offer online surveys to collect feedback but never reply to them. My husband and I fasted before a doctor's appointment and came here afterwards. Torchy's is located very close to Kelsey-Seybold and I was in the mood for tacos. Actually, we were both starving so I wanted to order everything off their menu. It was my first time here. I don't know what I was expecting, but this place is kind of run down? The soda fountain was broken, tables and chairs looked worn, and I believe I spotted a customer dozing off in a booth. The girl at the counter was efficient and patient. We ordered five tacos, two drinks, and the chips and queso dip. While waiting, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands. Broken soap dispenser and a roll of paper towels on the counter. Not the best first impression. The food came out pretty quickly and the runner was friendly. The queso and chips were good! It was the most expensive thing we ordered and it was worth it, I think. The queso dip has all kinds of stuff in it and the chips are crisp and salted. I had two Democrat tacos and they were fine. The barbacoa meat was chewy and bland but the veggies were fresh. I was disappointed with the corn tortillas, which tasted like they came from a package. After a few minutes the tortillas get pretty rubbery. My husband had three different tacos and said two of them were good--the shrimp Baja and green chile pork. He did not like the chicken fajita. The presentation of the food is excellent. Each taco is roughly $4.50 so you'd expect loads of protein and toppings. On that front, the tacos are priced well. The food comes out quickly and the veggies are fresh. I think there are better-tasting tacos in the area, though (like Krave Tacos). While I have no complaints about the service, I do think the place looks a little...tired. I don't think I would return here on my own accord, but if some coworkers were to suggest coming here during a lunch break or something, I wouldn't object. read more

It Torchy's tacos gringo style tacos if you are not familiar with them. The service is great and you can get a drink from the bar. All their in house beverages are delicious. The restaurant feel like something from Vegas but Tex-mex influenced. Ambiance is relaxed and chill vibe. Nothing fancy or black tie here. read more
