Salseria is a lovely Mexican-Brunch restaurant in Webster. The decor is modern mixed with beautiful Mexican artwork. The staff are quite hospitable. Parking is not always an issue, but Salseria is packed into a business strip. There's plenty of space inside for a large gatherings. Their dishes are made fresh, homestyle from the kitchen. My meal wasn't overpowered with spices. Their special coffee is freshly brewed. The serving size of the usual complimentary chips and dip are miniscule. Their dishes are a little pricey. Salseria doesn't have a lunch special. They just serve brunch and dinner. Contrary to past reviews, it seems they've removed an extensive amount of dishes off their menu. Overall, the food was delicious, but customer service (like someone else said) was definitely lacking. Decor inside was appealing as I love day of the dead and Mexican type artwork, but space was a tad limited in regards to seating. I ordered the chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and extra green salsa on the side. While majority of it was all tortilla chips, it was still tasty. Additionally, all of the food we ordered could've been ate by two people per plate. We had a LOT of take home food. Their drinks are handmade and also delicious. This place sucks. We were a party of 2 waiting for over 30 minutes but parties of 6 and 8 that came after us were given precedence. Once we were finally seated, no one came to our table to ask for drink orders or drop off chips. Once 16 minutes passed, I told the host guy and he was like "really? Well I can get someone to help you?" No one came and at this point I walked out with my child. I am super upset with the lack in service and care. Salseria was already on my radar, but after a friend recommended it, I knew I had to check it out sooner rather than later. My daughter and I were both impressed from the moment our food arrived. The presentation was beautiful, and thankfully, it tasted even better than it looked! It's a small spot and it's hard to see from the street. There's no sign so you can miss it if you aren't paying close attention. They share a parking log with several other stores so it filled up quick. The Agua frescas were good and everything looked pretty. There was only one server for the entire restaurant but we went during the week so it was busy but not all tables were full. My family enjoyed everything they got but it's a lot. Each plate had way more than one person could eat. I ended up not ordering anything so i got to try everything that was ordered and so did the baby and we had plenty to take home. If you don't eat much share with someone. The price makes sense with how much you get but isn't worth it if you aren't going to eat it all. Loved this Mexican brunch spot in Webster. Our area isn't known to have a ton of breakfast options so it was nice to try something new. I ordered the birria chilaquilla which was served with scrambled eggs and avocado and got the fruity pebbles pancakes for the kiddo. The chilaquilla had great flavor with both red/green sauces, savory birria beef ( not overly fatty), and the tortillas were crispy and not soggy at all. Oof! I have not been to a place that tasted this good for breakfast and dinner in a long time! Went there on a recommendation and was wary because the place from the outside didn't particularly appealing. Glad I went in anyway. The food is excellent. I had some enchiladas and I was served four large enchiladas and the corn tortillas look to be made in house! When does that happen? I liked that they gave me smaller portions of beans and rice because the entrée is really the star. My spouse had the tostadas and they were beautiful! We both were very full and satisfied so much so we went for the breakfast the next day! My goodness, the breakfast plates are fantastic and very generous! I had the mollete which consisted of the bottom half of a torta bread, slathered in refried beans and pico de gallo with eggs and a generous serving of sliced avocado on top. It was fantastic and it wasn't overly spicy which allowed you to enjoy the eggs. The potatoes were fantastic because they were not overly spiced so that you really got to taste the potato flavor. Also was surprising is the fruit that came with it which was plentiful and very fresh! My husband had the Migas plate and it was a large portion of Migas with the smallish portion of refried beans. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is a comfortable place to enjoy a meal, although there was a slight musty smell that was noticeable when we first walked in. The food was definitely the highlight of the evening. My El Flameado de Pollo was outstanding--full of bold flavor and easily the best part of my meal. My wife's Enchiladas Suizas were also very flavorful, but unfortunately they were served just barely warmer than room temperature. The sweet tea was excellent, and the queso was a little different than expected since it appeared to be "strained" without the pico mixed in. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing, just a different presentation that some people may actually prefer. The chips, however, were disappointing. They were stale, greasy, and chewy instead of fresh and crisp. The beef fajitas also missed the mark. They weren't pre-sliced, which normally wouldn't be an issue, but the meat was quite tough. Combined with having to cut it yourself, it made each bite difficult to chew and took away from what could have been a great dish. Service was the weakest part of the visit. It wasn't rude, but it felt awkward and lacked the welcoming, attentive feel you'd expect. It was also very slow--we received our appetizer before our drinks, and having to pay for tea refills was an unexpected surprise. Even with those issues, the kitchen clearly knows how to create flavorful food, and that's what stood out most. A few improvements in service, fresher chips, hotter entrées, and more tender fajitas would easily make this a five-star experience. Went there with my friend, worst service we've had in a long time. After they dropped the food off they didn't come back once, then when we were trying to leave I asked one of the servers for our check, he said okay Ill get that for you, did not come back. Waited about 15 minutes then asked another server, told me the same thing and once again did not bring the check. After another 10 minutes we got up and went to the window to ask for our check so we could leave...stood there for about 5 minutes before someone showed up at the window. Stopped in with my cousins after seeing this place on tik tok for weeks. You have to order at the counter before you're able to sit down. We got very lucky that there weren't a lot of people there when we arrived otherwise we would've been waiting for a table forever. The restaurant does not have a lot of seating available. There's a lot of beautiful artwork on the walls that makes the restaurant look a lot brighter and lively. As far as the food goes, I ordered the quesabirrias and they were so good! The meat was tender and seasoned well, the consomé had flavor, and the side of rice was delicious. We also had the fruity pebbles pancakes and they were okay just very dry. To drink I had a sunset mimosa and the watermelon lemonade, both were very good but I definitely preferred the lemonade. Overall, I would recommend trying it out. I was not impressed with the food here at all. I had been wanting to try it. The plate was GORGEOUS but the food was pretty bland. I ordered a passion fruit mimosa and a tres leches French toast. I believe I got a dragonfruit mimosa (it was still really good and pretty) when you walk in the door it says to wait to be seated but there was no one at the host stand so I went up to the counter and ordered my food. I've tried this place a couple of times because the food is genuinely good, but the service has been consistently terrible. For brunch a couple of weeks ago, my food came out a full 30 minutes before my husband's, and I couldn't get anyone's attention to get another cup of coffee because the staff all looked overwhelmed and rushed. Then I stopped in after work last week, and while customers were sitting and eating, there were zero employees anywhere. As they offer 99 cent tacos on taco Tuesdays , I'm sure this spot is popping on a Tuesday, but at 2pm ish on a Sunday, this spot was... still bustling with energy. Once inside, guests are invited to order in the back right corner. On the one hand this makes for a bit of a confusing flow, but on the other hand, you walk past patrons eating and drinking the most beautifully plated food and drink you'll ever see, so it def worked in getting me excited for my meal! We were told the enchiladas were Mexican style, without sauce apart from queso fresco on top, but after looking at the photo ordered them anyways (with a bit of side sauce from the restaurant). Shoutout to the staff for being so accommodating :). Our food arrived dish by dish, and everything (and I mean everything) was delicious. The Acai bowl is as delicious as it is aesthetic. Bursting with all sorts of fruit, and granola on the bottom, it's a bit difficult to eat but worth it! The chicken enchiladas were light and flavorful, the avocado toast hearty! The pancakes were fluffy, the guava agua Fresca sweet and the corn tortilla chips and queso make a great start to any hearty meal. When I got here one table was here and had their food and there was another couple ahead of me ordering. 40+ mins for me to receive one order of chilaquiles is ridiculous. If they know it's going to be this long they should let guest know before ordering or check on the guest to let them know the status of the order. One wouldn't except a breakfast dish to take that long. Once food came out it was beautifully plated and tasted good. I am creating this post to share my recent experience at Salseria. I visited alone with my two young daughters. Upon receiving our food, we stepped away to the restroom for approximately 5 minutes. When we returned, we noticed staff was actively cleaning our table and had assumed we were finished with our meals, even though our plates were still full. I calmly explained the situation, and understanding that mistakes happen, I politely requested that our food be remade to-go. The situation escalated based on how it was handled from that point forward. An older staff member brought my food and suggested I accept my previous drink, which had been retrieved from the discard area after our table had already been cleared. I expressed that I was not comfortable accepting a drink that had been placed in a discard area. Instead of de-escalation, the response became confrontational. The drink was thrown away aggressively, creating a loud glass noise, and I was then repeatedly pressured to accept the replacement order despite clearly expressing my discomfort. Due to the tone, behavior, and handling of the situation, I no longer felt comfortable accepting any food. I requested a refund multiple times and was denied each time. I was also told I could discard the food myself after leaving if I chose to, but that no refund would be issued. I ultimately left the establishment without consuming or accepting the order. I am sharing this for transparency and awareness. As a paying customer with two young children present, I expected respectful communication and a reasonable resolution. You have to seat yourself and there is limited tables so you have to get there at a good time or have someone in your party sit down to reserve the table or be waiting around till a table is free. They could better utilize the space they have to add in more small tables that could fit just for 2 people. My chilaquiles were cold and the worker took it back and probably just stuck it in the oven or microwave because only the top portion was hot. They need more people helping run orders, I asked for an extra plate from 2 different workers and none of them brought one back. The chilaquiles were our favorite. The fresh green sauce and avocado really elevated the dish. It was a fairly large portion. In fact, my husband and I could've really shared that one dish. Mimosas were yummy and beautiful as well and only $6.99. The only negative was the noise level inside. Luckily, the weather was nice outside so we enjoyed our brunch on their tiny "patio". The vibes are great but the food lacks sazon. The pictures look so good but if you know authentic Mexican food you will think the same. By the look of the pozole and menudo the broth needed more color and you can see the scum was not removed when cooking the pork.
