Loved this Mexican brunch spot in Webster. Our area isn't known to have a ton of breakfast options so it was nice to try something new. I ordered the birria chilaquilla which was served with scrambled eggs and avocado and got the fruity pebbles pancakes for the kiddo. The chilaquilla had great flavor with both red/green sauces, savory birria beef ( not overly fatty), and the tortillas were crispy and not soggy at all. Ok so you have to get up and go order and pay before you eat! You are asked for tip but haven't even seen the service or food so I declined and will see. But just having to get your own utensils and go place an order at a sit down place!!?? Not a tip place!! Honestly it's just the aesthetics!!! The so called aguas frescas taste like JUMEX, the concentrated one!! Not happy about that at all!!! The chilaquiles plate is just too much chips swimming in salsa but the top of chips aren't even getting much of it! It's just a mess!! Came here the other day for breakfast and I was absolutely obsessed with the Chilaquiles! The tortilla chips were not soggy, and the flavor was absolutely delicious! I also liked adding the steak and the egg, it really made the meal. The staff were friendly and answered all of our questions about the menu. The restaurant was also very clean and cute. I am creating this post to share my recent experience at Salseria. I visited alone with my two young daughters. Upon receiving our food, we stepped away to the restroom for approximately 5 minutes. When we returned, we noticed staff was actively cleaning our table and had assumed we were finished with our meals, even though our plates were still full. I calmly explained the situation, and understanding that mistakes happen, I politely requested that our food be remade to-go. The situation escalated based on how it was handled from that point forward. An older staff member brought my food and suggested I accept my previous drink, which had been retrieved from the discard area after our table had already been cleared. I expressed that I was not comfortable accepting a drink that had been placed in a discard area. Instead of de-escalation, the response became confrontational. The drink was thrown away aggressively, creating a loud glass noise, and I was then repeatedly pressured to accept the replacement order despite clearly expressing my discomfort. Due to the tone, behavior, and handling of the situation, I no longer felt comfortable accepting any food. I requested a refund multiple times and was denied each time. I was also told I could discard the food myself after leaving if I chose to, but that no refund would be issued. I ultimately left the establishment without consuming or accepting the order. I am sharing this for transparency and awareness. As a paying customer with two young children present, I expected respectful communication and a reasonable resolution. Stopped in with my cousins after seeing this place on tik tok for weeks. You have to order at the counter before you're able to sit down. We got very lucky that there weren't a lot of people there when we arrived otherwise we would've been waiting for a table forever. The restaurant does not have a lot of seating available. There's a lot of beautiful artwork on the walls that makes the restaurant look a lot brighter and lively. As far as the food goes, I ordered the quesabirrias and they were so good! The meat was tender and seasoned well, the consomé had flavor, and the side of rice was delicious. We also had the fruity pebbles pancakes and they were okay just very dry. To drink I had a sunset mimosa and the watermelon lemonade, both were very good but I definitely preferred the lemonade. Overall, I would recommend trying it out. I was not impressed with the food here at all. I had been wanting to try it. The plate was GORGEOUS but the food was pretty bland. I ordered a passion fruit mimosa and a tres leches French toast. I believe I got a dragonfruit mimosa (it was still really good and pretty) when you walk in the door it says to wait to be seated but there was no one at the host stand so I went up to the counter and ordered my food. Interesting little place with huge portions. It is sit yourself- order at the counter. We got a little bit of everything - Nutella pancakes , fruity pebble pancakes, tres leches french toast , & breakfast tacos. Kids loves the pancakes- but realistically one plate of them could feed a family of 3. ( we way over ordered ) The only thing I didn't LOVE was the tres leches FT. Such a gem! I came in today and everything was honestly amazing. The enchiladas were so good, the chicken flautas had the best flavor, and the agua frescas were insane; the watermelon and the pineapple mango were my favorites. I've tried this place a couple of times because the food is genuinely good, but the service has been consistently terrible. For brunch a couple of weeks ago, my food came out a full 30 minutes before my husband's, and I couldn't get anyone's attention to get another cup of coffee because the staff all looked overwhelmed and rushed. Then I stopped in after work last week, and while customers were sitting and eating, there were zero employees anywhere. I waited at the counter for about 15 minutes and never saw a single staff member appear. It's really disappointing because the food is solid, but the service has become a dealbreaker. As they offer 99 cent tacos on taco Tuesdays , I'm sure this spot is popping on a Tuesday, but at 2pm ish on a Sunday, this spot was... still bustling with energy. Once inside, guests are invited to order in the back right corner. On the one hand this makes for a bit of a confusing flow, but on the other hand, you walk past patrons eating and drinking the most beautifully plated food and drink you'll ever see, so it def worked in getting me excited for my meal! Cute restaurant. Lady taking the order was nice. However the kitchen is extremely slow. Definitely not the type of restaurant if you are in a rush. When I got here one table was here and had their food and there was another couple ahead of me ordering. 40+ mins for me to receive one order of chilaquiles is ridiculous. If they know it's going to be this long they should let guest know before ordering or check on the guest to let them know the status of the order. One wouldn't except a breakfast dish to take that long. Once food came out it was beautifully plated and tasted good. Overall a good concept. A nice aesthetic environment , staff is nice and friendly the biggest issue was the quality of the food. My only issue is how much oil they use when it comes to frying tortillas. I hope I just caught them on a bad day, because shooting your cholesterol up for breakfast is not ideal for anyone. Place was hyped up on tik tok but what they don't show is you have to order at the window so you could be waiting 15+ mins behind 3+ other people waiting in line just to order as well. You have to seat yourself and there is limited tables so you have to get there at a good time or have someone in your party sit down to reserve the table or be waiting around till a table is free. They could better utilize the space they have to add in more small tables that could fit just for 2 people. Wow! My first time here. Thanks Yelpers! Flavorful, and beautifully presented food that does not cost a small fortune. We had the chilaquiles and the migas both Mexican style. The chilaquiles were our favorite. The fresh green sauce and avocado really elevated the dish. It was a fairly large portion. In fact, my husband and I could've really shared that one dish. I can't give them a horrible rating since I didn't try the food but I will give some advice to the establishment. My friend and myself walked in and there's a small chalkboard in the front that said please order at window before sitting down. We went and got in line and the cashier asked if I was on the waitlist and I told her no this was while she was taking some one else's order. Then out of nowhere a worker came up to us and asked us to get on the waitlist and informed us it will be a 45 min wait. Honestly the place did not look packed and so I was a little confused on the wait time. I got added on the list and 15 min later I received a text that a table was ready. I had a couple hours before my trip home from Hobby, so I looked on Yelp for a local Mexican food joint--not a Pappas brand. This place had good reviews and seemed a little off the beaten path, which made me hopeful. Boy, was this a great find! The posole with cabbage (people order it with lettuce?) was perfect. I'd never heard of quesobirrias tacos (imagine queso fundido mixed with birrias) but they were the most joyous things I've had in my tummy for quite a while. As a food blogger, I came upon the discovery of this restaurant and was trying to go for months. The day I was around the area we decided to finally tried it. As expected, we arrived during peak time we didn't mind waiting. We saw other people seating on the tables looking at the menus so we did the same. We were ready to order after taking like 25 mins deciding since there was so many good options. That's when a lady came over to ask us to leave the table since we haven't order.
