    Dark avocado covered by flower
    AnaLilia G.

Ok so you have to get up and go order and pay before you eat! You are asked for tip but haven't even seen the service or food so I declined and will see. But just having to get your own utensils and go place an order at a sit down place!!?? Not a tip place!! Honestly it's just the aesthetics!!! The so called aguas frescas taste like JUMEX, the concentrated one!! Not happy about that at all!!! The chilaquiles plate is just too much chips swimming in salsa but the top of chips aren't even getting much of it! It's just a mess!! Green and red chilaquiles, the green sauce was good, savory and not salty but too overwhelming with so much chips!! The avocado was cut nicely but they didn't even bother to cut the brown/black part! The entire food was just blahhhh, overpriced!!! $57 for chilaquiles, 3 waters, waffle and 1 egg!!! Overpriced and not worth it!! Seems like your alone at restaurant, staff at the back and just come out to bring plates and tell you to order at register. Ambiance chill and nice and music but not worth it! Pretty restaurant but not worth the price of food lacked flavor!!! And the employee pic is because the face of your restaurant is how they treat customers and it wasn't polite at all and not welcoming!!

El flameado de polo con beef fajita

(4/5) My wife and I had dinner here tonight, and overall we had a good experience. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is a comfortable place to enjoy a meal, although there was a slight musty smell that was noticeable when we first walked in. The food was definitely the highlight of the evening. My El Flameado de Pollo was outstanding--full of bold flavor and easily the best part of my meal. My wife's Enchiladas Suizas were also very flavorful, but unfortunately they were served just barely warmer than room temperature. The sweet tea was excellent, and the queso was a little different than expected since it appeared to be "strained" without the pico mixed in. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing, just a different presentation that some people may actually prefer. The chips, however, were disappointing. They were stale, greasy, and chewy instead of fresh and crisp. The beef fajitas also missed the mark. They weren't pre-sliced, which normally wouldn't be an issue, but the meat was quite tough. Combined with having to cut it yourself, it made each bite difficult to chew and took away from what could have been a great dish. Service was the weakest part of the visit. It wasn't rude, but it felt awkward and lacked the welcoming, attentive feel you'd expect. It was also very slow--we received our appetizer before our drinks, and having to pay for tea refills was an unexpected surprise. Even with those issues, the kitchen clearly knows how to create flavorful food, and that's what stood out most. A few improvements in service, fresher chips, hotter entrées, and more tender fajitas would easily make this a five-star experience. We'd definitely come back because the quality of the dishes shows a lot of promise but it's not yet somewhere I'd frequent regularly.

Place is small and very popular but the wait time was less than 20 minutes for a Sunday during brunch time. Staff were so nice and the music on here was SO GOOD! food was a 10/10 I will definitely be coming back again. Everything tasted fresh and homemade

Came here the other day for breakfast and I was absolutely obsessed with the Chilaquiles! The tortilla chips were not soggy, and the flavor was absolutely delicious! I also liked adding the steak and the egg, it really made the meal. The staff were friendly and answered all of our questions about the menu. The restaurant was also very clean and cute. I will definitely be back for more chilaquiles in the future!!

Quesabirrias, Fruity Pebbles Pancakes. Sunset Mimosa, and Watermelon Lemonade

Stopped in with my cousins after seeing this place on tik tok for weeks. You have to order at the counter before you're able to sit down. We got very lucky that there weren't a lot of people there when we arrived otherwise we would've been waiting for a table forever. The restaurant does not have a lot of seating available. There's a lot of beautiful artwork on the walls that makes the restaurant look a lot brighter and lively. As far as the food goes, I ordered the quesabirrias and they were so good! The meat was tender and seasoned well, the consomé had flavor, and the side of rice was delicious. We also had the fruity pebbles pancakes and they were okay just very dry. To drink I had a sunset mimosa and the watermelon lemonade, both were very good but I definitely preferred the lemonade. Overall, I would recommend trying it out. I'd would make the hour drive again.

I was not impressed with the food here at all. I had been wanting to try it. The plate was GORGEOUS but the food was pretty bland. I ordered a passion fruit mimosa and a tres leches French toast. I believe I got a dragonfruit mimosa (it was still really good and pretty) when you walk in the door it says to wait to be seated but there was no one at the host stand so I went up to the counter and ordered my food. It was pretty busy and full. I chose a cute little table outside. Service was quick. Cutely decorated inside. I don't know that I would go back. I feel like I paid for presentation.

Watermelon lemonade SO GOOD and refreshing

Interesting little place with huge portions. It is sit yourself- order at the counter. We got a little bit of everything - Nutella pancakes , fruity pebble pancakes, tres leches french toast , & breakfast tacos. Kids loves the pancakes- but realistically one plate of them could feed a family of 3. ( we way over ordered ) The only thing I didn't LOVE was the tres leches FT. For the price I felt like it was justified. It was kind of dry TBH . The watermelon lemonade was so fresh and refreshing- highly recommend getting that.

Such a gem! I came in today and everything was honestly amazing. The enchiladas were so good, the chicken flautas had the best flavor, and the agua frescas were insane; the watermelon and the pineapple mango were my favorites. Everything tasted super fresh and the presentation was next level. The staff was so sweet and the service was incredible the whole time. You can really feel the care they put into their food and the experience. Definitely coming back!

    Chillequiles with Beef

Went back for the first time in a while. I must say, while I love this place, my husband isn't a fan of the menu so it's hard to convince him to come. But I love the changes in the last year. Food is still beautiful and delicious. It's so fun here and the service is great. You can taste and see the effort they are putting into this Webster gem. Keep doing what you're doing, Salseria. I'll be back but maybe alone next time

This is my 3rd time stopping by to eat at Salseria this week. So so good. And the staff is very friendly and attentive. Our new favorite spot !

Presentation! And the mollete was just as good!
    Aurelia S.

Finally got the opportunity to try this spot. Loved the vibe, gorgeous mural and decor. The food was very good. I tried the mollete and pozole...both on point! Also tried the watermelon margarita, cause why not? It was very refreshing! The presentation is truly some of the best i've seen...too pretty to eat or drink! Now onto the not so good part.,,the service. It was awful...staff is super nice, but clearly not well organized. Food took way too long to get to our table. We did go at prime brunch time. I do recommend this food, just be prepared to wait, wait, wait

As they offer 99 cent tacos on taco Tuesdays , I'm sure this spot is popping on a Tuesday, but at 2pm ish on a Sunday, this spot was... still bustling with energy. Once inside, guests are invited to order in the back right corner. On the one hand this makes for a bit of a confusing flow, but on the other hand, you walk past patrons eating and drinking the most beautifully plated food and drink you'll ever see, so it def worked in getting me excited for my meal! We were told the enchiladas were Mexican style, without sauce apart from queso fresco on top, but after looking at the photo ordered them anyways (with a bit of side sauce from the restaurant). Shoutout to the staff for being so accommodating :). Our food arrived dish by dish, and everything (and I mean everything) was delicious. The Acai bowl is as delicious as it is aesthetic. Bursting with all sorts of fruit, and granola on the bottom, it's a bit difficult to eat but worth it! The chicken enchiladas were light and flavorful, the avocado toast hearty! The pancakes were fluffy, the guava agua Fresca sweet and the corn tortilla chips and queso make a great start to any hearty meal. I just wish I had more space in my tummy to give every menu item a try!

Cute restaurant. Lady taking the order was nice. However the kitchen is extremely slow. Definitely not the type of restaurant if you are in a rush. When I got here one table was here and had their food and there was another couple ahead of me ordering. 40+ mins for me to receive one order of chilaquiles is ridiculous. If they know it's going to be this long they should let guest know before ordering or check on the guest to let them know the status of the order. One wouldn't except a breakfast dish to take that long. Once food came out it was beautifully plated and tasted good. Overall I think I might try again but only if I had a bunch of free time.

We always go through the drive thru and while the line can be a bit long at times, we've never really had to wait very long. It's not my number one choice in taco places, but they're good tacos at a good price. When I go on a Carnival cruise, I like to get fish tacos from The Blue Iguana... if I'm not on a ship, this is the closest thing I've found. They do lose a star though because I also have a toddler to feed and tell me why I can get two tacos for the prize of ONE kids quesadilla? So I end up going to two different places for food. There's not much else to say. I don't know if they offer indoor seating, but I know people seem to enjoy sitting in the outdoor patio area. Thankfully it's covered which really helps in the Texas heat. As for me, I just use the drive thru and carry on with my daily tasks.

This review has great energy--you just need it tightened and cleaned 1000 dé cinco estrellas!…read more We visited El Jefe Pollo Asados (620 Nassau Rd in Webster) after a long day of touristy activities, exhausted, with a group of seven--including picky kids. We had so many restaurant options but chose this place because of the high ratings... and I'm so glad we did. I'll be honest--when we first arrived, I wasn't impressed with the outside or the area. I was a little hesitant going in. But the moment we walked through the doors, everything changed. The place felt welcoming, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere--yes, a little loud--but in a good way. It's that lively Mexican vibe: music, micheladas, carne asada... all of it. We were just tired, so I think I noticed it more. Now let's talk about the food... I ordered the Maestro Plate but swapped the meat for short rib costillas--and OH. MY. GOSH. These were hands down some of the best costillas I've ever had. Juicy, tender, packed with flavor. I cleaned those bones completely--every single bite. The dish was served with perfectly grilled "nopales" and queso panela, que ricura! Ahhh, and of course the charro beans and rice that I barely made a dent in. The portions? HUGE. Two of us shared one plate and still had leftovers--and we can eat! Now this part says everything: my grandson, who is on the spectrum and very picky, ordered pollo asado... and he tore into it. No complaints, no hesitation--he finished his entire plate. That alone speaks volumes. My daughter had the birria (and she's a birria critic), and even she couldn't finish her plate because of how generous the portion was--but she said it was full of flavor and really good. My older grandson (big growing boy with an equally big appetite) had a birria quesadilla--again, huge portion--and even he couldn't finish it, which never happens. To top it all off, the owner surprised us with a complimentary dessert--warm, soft, pillowy sopapillas with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. The kids were FULL... and still devoured every last bite. Not a crumb left. And let's talk about pricing... honey. Compared to Austin? This was a steal. I was honestly shocked at how affordable it was for the quality and portion sizes. Amazing food, generous portions, great service, and a place that turned my hesitation into loyalty. They've earned our business--100%. We will absolutely be back next time we're in town.
