I went to this restaurant for the first time today. It is in RoundRock alongside the 35 freeway. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. I had never heard anything about this place before , however, the outside of the restaurant doesn't look like anything special but the moment you walk inside, it looks like someplace where people would go when they're on vacation. It's bright and cheerful and lots of photographs and decor. Someone took some heavy thought and a lot of time to decorating this place. I absolutely love it. It's clearly a nice festive place to be. They have a very inviting bar, which looks very friendly and fun. They have many tables and some booths. They also have outside seating. They sell their own Chuy shirts, and if you wear your Chuy shirt into the restaurant, you get a discount on another shirt! When we went to lunch at 1:30 on Wednesday, it was not busy. They did have some business, however. We were greeted promptly and kindly and seated in a booth. It wasn't too long before chips came with two types of salsa; one looked like pico de gallo and the other one looked like a jalapeño cream dip. I would've loved to have tasted that, but it goes against my dietary restrictions, but I can tell you that pico de gallo was great! And the chips were nice and crispy. We were provided with place settings that each were in their own individual envelope sealed with a little sticker and labeled "sanitized"; I liked that. I ordered shredded chicken crispy tacos with rice and beans and my husband ordered shrimp tacos and a margarita. My tacos were great. I really loved the tortilla. They obviously take a corn tortilla, shaped it themselves and cook it before they fill it and the extra care could definitely be tasted. The rice and beans were good, But I really liked the tacos best. My husband said his shrimp tacos were good too. The prices were quite reasonable. My taco plate was $12. I'm really glad I visited this restaurant today and I will definitely be back to try out more of the menu! I highly recommend you visit it. read more

Came in for a birthday dinner. Table of 5. We placed our order for some drinks and one appetizer. food came out however we didn't get small plate for our chips/salsa and queso that we ordered. so we were having to reach across tables dripping dip all over- finally the waitress came back and we got some plates. We had to flag her down to place our order. order came out quick and food was good, as to be expected! I got the veggie enchiladas with boom boom sauce and the green chili rice. the texture of the rice was a bit like mush- but flavor was great! the inside of the enchilada was lacking veggies and just found a bunch of peppers - I like peppers but would have preferred more mushrooms or zucchini or really anything additional . I had a frozen strawberry marg which was fabulous. here comes the check- she asked if we wanted all separate or together . everyone except the birthday girl opted for a check for thier own order- disappointed to find out the waitress decided to split the queso 4 ways when it's not something that was ordered as a group- it's something one person wanted and ordered- I don't eat meat and the queso had meat and I got stuck paying for it. it was only a few bucks so we opted to all pay it and get out of there but I think the waitress should have verified before splitting the queso as only 2/5 of us ate it. overall i would come back as I like the drinks, nachos and enchalads here. he place was very unorganized. I Came in for an interview there were 3 managers on the floor. A Gm a kitchen manager and a 3rd manager all in the building at the same time. My scheduled appointment was set for 2pm. I arrived at 1:58 and waited until 1:25 pm. I left after waiting almost 30 minutes without any type of acknowledgement from any of the management. I called to ask what happened and they gave me two different stories. Excuse number 1 "I was on a call with a customer" Excuse number 2 "we were busy with orders" There are problems with this. 1: There were three managers on the floor they can't be all on the phone with 1 customer. 2: Fact is I was inside the restaurant while I waited. I saw servers bored because it was slow. No customers walked in and I know this because I was sitting by the door near the hostess. Only people leaving. 3: I asked a server if this was normal in which he replied "Yes I have seen people wait up to an hour to be interviewed." 4: Every restaurant has a period of downtime everyday between 2 and 4 pm which is why most interviews with restaurants will be conducted during this time. Last but not least when I called and voiced my concerns I was met with hostility from "Sterling" who apparently is one of the managers although judging by his attitude I would never had guessed he would be in such a position. He stumbled over his words while trying to make me feel like I did something wrong by refusing to waste my time. I would not recommend this place for employment or food. Unhappy people don't make good food and the staff doesn't look very happy. Other reviews will reflect this. I recorded the phone calls for proof and will be uploading them to all the social media outlets. I use life 360 which tracks my exact location time and speed traveled showing the time I arrived the time I waiting and the time I left. To the unprofessional management team. Tighten up get your shit together. When you point a finger at someone you point 3 back at yourself. Have some dignity and respect. A simple "Hey I'm so and so nice to meet you while you wait fee free to grab a drink I'm a little tied up at the moment I'll be with you just as soon as I can I apologize for the wait" it's easy takes only 1 minute to do so. It makes a high difference. Clean the restaurant the waiting area was filthy and cluttered. Stuff is dirty and people are standing around it's just simply lazy and unprofessional. read more

You really can't go wrong with Chuy's as their flavors are always on point and the staff is attentive; however the place is always bustling so if you're looking for an intimate date spot, it's generally too loud for normal conversation. If you're looking for a place to meet with friends with energy to match, this is a great place to grab a bite. read more

I'm glad we went when we did, there was not a wait time to get seated As soon as we were seated our Host Valentino greeted us. He was absolutely amazing my husband couldn't make up his mind you know how that goes when there are so many choices. Valentino was very knowledgeable and suggested a couple things he thought my husband would like, he settled for the Fajita Beef Panchos I had the king Memorial Combo and to wash it down I had a blackberry lemonade the adult one. We also had tortilla chips with Pico de gallo and dill pickle ranch dip y'all I don't like ranch anything but this dip was finger licking good. The food was delicious as well. I really want to give Kudos to Valentino he made us feel like we've been knowing him for a long time thanks Valentino for having great customer service skills. So glad to see a Chuy's in Hutto. Oh how I have missed having a Chuy close by! This place is new and everyone loves some Chuy's so expect a good crowd with good wait time even after you have joined the waitlist online. Regardless of the wait, the food tasted great. We did send back the food we ordered for our kid since the fries were cold (not even warm) and they happily with an apology replaced it with fresh hot ones. Love their enchiladas and fresh guacamole and taco bowl. Can't wait to make this is a regular spot. read more

To start, waitress did not even say hello, she simply said "do yall know what you want" The kids meal ground beef tacos were LOADED with green chiles (and that is not disclosed on the menu), so my son would not eat them. My tacos al carbon were terrible. The beef was so tough I could not even chew the bite, and they were overloaded with onions. The menu says they have grilled bell peppers, onions, and green chiles. The waitress told us they do not have green chiles (then why does it explicitly say that on the menu?). We were looking forward to this meal after being sick the last several days and hardly eating, and we were very disappointed. Between them changing their menu and now the quality I don't think we will be eating here again. Very disappointing. read more

First visit to this location and 5+ years since I have eaten at a Chuy's restaurant. Beautiful day so opted to sit on the patio. Only patrons when we were seated. Complementary chips and salsa were tasty and chunky salsa had a good level of heat. Started with the $5 queso special which was just ok. Opted for the green enchiladas with jalapeño rice and refried beans which were all very good. Other friends had a beef taco and enchilada combo with jalapeño rice and beans which was also very good. Another friend had a burrito with rice and beans and was pleased with the selection. We all decided it would be worthwhile to come back again. Service was good too. read more

Chuy's is def a family friendly and just fun atmosphere to visit. I always love how they decorate their spaces and none of them are identical. Our waitress let us know she was a new hire but she was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, polite and made sure to check in on us throughout our lunch. I was a bit disappointed with the food however my rice was bland and my tacos were lukewarm. I've been to this location before so maybe this was just a one off. Def will be back. read more

Enjoyed lunch here for the first time today. Enjoyed a tasty margarita on the rocks with their yummy tortilla chips, salsa, & jalapeño dressing. For my entree, I had the chicka-chicka boom boom enchiladas. The portion was generous and I took home leftovers. They even brought me a bag of chips, salsa, & dressing to take home! We ordered to pick up witch definitely can make the experience less enjoyable. However, one of the reasons I love Chuy's is because the portions are filling and always full of your classic Tex-mex flavors and they were severely lacking. The chicken fajita tacos had one or two tiny strips of chicken and maybe it was because I ordered the sauce on the side but the veggie enchiladas were severely undercooked...it was almost like eating raw zucchini. With that being said we ordered extra creamy jalapeño which is a mush when you order Togo because no table refills!!! Also recommend Chuy's just a disappointing pick up. read more

Hats off to the person working curbside on 10/18--they were handling a lot of orders and doing a great job. However, the food was disappointing. We ordered chicken enchiladas, but they gave us cheese enchiladas instead. So annoying! We also ordered one taco plate, they were soggy, and the rice had no flavor. My husband and I and two other couples visited Chuy's on a recent Monday for a late afternoon dinner. We arrived just before 4 pm, right when there was a shift change, so waited briefly to be seated. By the time we left around 5:30, the place was starting to really fill up. Service was excellent, the food was tasty as always, and the decor was its usual brand of kitschy. Complimentary chips and 2 varieties of salsa (traditional and creamy jalapeño) were delivered soon after our water, with drinks to follow. Our group ordered flautas, cheese enchiladas, a chicken burrito, and a taco salad. Everything but the salad came with sides of rice and a generous portion of refried beans. For the price, Chuy's has unbeatable portions. My flautas were very crispy and included sour cream and guacamole for dipping. The burrito was huge. Those who had the cheese enchiladas said they were just OK. Be sure to ask for the sauce you want when you order entrées with a topping. There's a list on the menu. Contrary to another review, there was no shortage of napkins on our table when we were seated, and no signs of skimping on anything. Since one couple in our group was celebrating an anniversary, the waitress brought a churro cut to share. We ordered a second one with dip. It was excellent. I've been here several times and hang out with friends at the bar and it's never been great and just mediocre at best. This time was particularly terrible. We got there on a Sunday, after an event nearby with a few friends and sat at the bar a little before 9 pm. The bartenders didn't seem overly excited to see us sit at the bar and after asking for our initial drink order, they were very unattentive. There started putting things away liquor and emptying out the margarita machines shortly after getting there. Basically they seemed ready to close and go home when we got there. It felt like being invited to someone's home and feeling like there want to you leave right away. We just went to get some drinks and hang out and felt like we were troubling them. Not a friendly place and given the food and drinks aren't anything special, seems they should at least make up with service. read more

This is my wife's favorite place to eat dinner on her birthday. We did the wait list and it is highly recommended. We waited less than 5 minutes for our table. Server was Jordon and she was nice. The chips are crazy good to excellent when they are warm. Problem is they can ruin your dinner because who can stop eating them. The queso is great but $9.00 and the white sauce is free and just as great. My wife got the enchiladas and it was way to much food but will be her lunch tomorrow. On 3/22 Miranda took care of us and was stellar through and through. It was a pretty busy night but she was upbeat and on point every time. We ordered our drinks and food when she first came to us. She got our water with no ice like we asked for (always missed by servers when we go out) and remembered any small requests we made. Food came out hot and tasty. The Elvis plate that I customized came out exactly how I wanted. We were in the car room, it could used some dusting, but over all it was a good atmosphere and we enjoyed our dinner. We ordered margs no salt. Here they came with salt. Hubby ordered half frozen and half rocks. Came out all frozen. I asked for warm chips because ours were stale. She couldn't find any. Overall I love Chuy's & highly recommend, my experience at this location just left a lot to be desired. We had a 45 minute wait at 8:00pm on a Saturday so didn't get sat until a little before 9. The room we sat in has way too many tables in it so we felt like we were sitting on top of the people around us. I'm not sure if they were short servers or it was just our server struggling but it took us at least 15 minutes to get our first round of water and we never got refills. We also had to ask several times for items missing from our order. The food was great as always, just the customer service was lacking. read more

We went to this location Wednesday April 28, 2026 at 6:44pm. It's sad that two kids maybe 18 years old each are being allowed to run the entire establishment. Specifically, the boy and girl working the hostess stand. We requested a table for two and not a booth. Got on the waiting list and waited patiently for our table to be ready. The female hostess then attempted to seat us in a round booth that would have held 7 persons. When we explained we had specifically requested a table, she and the young gentleman chatted quietly and she then informed us that all the tables were closed and it was a booth or we could go back on the waiting list. However, two tables had customers. They informed us that they didn't have the staff to handle the tables. Neither of the kids could comprehend simply have the waiter that was up for the booth next walk 5 feet and serve us at a table. Neither one had any common sense and could not understand the simple concept. Every booth but one was full. We then informed the hostesses boy and girl that we refused to go back on their waiting list as they suggested if we wanted to eat at a table, that we would simply leave and go to another restaurant. They girl started laughing and said "okay". My question is, why are two young kids being allowed to run a large establishment of such and cause the company to loose revenue?????? No manager anywhere in sight nor was one available. Interesting in that we see these numerous posts on tipping and wait staff not being tip or receiving very little tip. Service starts at the hostess stand. Trust me. We will spend our money else where. Too many eating places in this area to deal with such non-sense. read more

Not even realizing I ordered the same exact item from the first time I came here, Chika chika boom boom...yes that's how good it is. It has a good amount of heat of the sauce, chicken is tender, and the portion is huge. It makes a good leftover, too. read more
