Really good. Stopped by during happy hour where you can get unlimited nachos with a selection of ground meat, picko de Gallo, queso, and beans. Which was all very delicious. I got the chuychanga which is one of the house specials, which did not disappoint. It was stuffed with chicken and cilantro and some other tasty things laid on top a bed of queso and topped with sour cream. Our waitress, Erin, was very sweet and attentive. For those of you that want to eat and enjoy Mexican food, Chuy's is not the place. I took my girls for lunch. The restaurant wasn't busy. It took over 10 minutes for our waitress just get to the table. Then when our food arrived not all was served at the same time. I took one bite of my Chimichanga and it was just plain not good. My daughters cheese quesadillas were not good according to them. We ended up taking the food home. When I went to pay the bill my youngest asked why I was tipping at all. My daughter is 11. She knows good food when she eats it. The only thing that I have found good is the jalapeño dip. Step up your game Chuy's....I like your story. read more

I work for DoorDash and they have poor time management for order pickups. I get paid by order and they are not on time for me to do my part of my job. For this reason I rate this restaurant with 1 star. I have watched them give many customers they're online orders but they seem to put DoorDash's on the side. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service & rather wild atmosphere here. They claim Tex-Mex, so my my expectations were set low knowing they probably sold more quesadillas to chicks than anything else. I was wrong. Ya the menu screams chain food, but the mixed drinks were strong and had more fresh flavor than sweet and sour mixer. The chips and salsa ok. Our server brought us three extra salsas to try off the menu. Most good. Entrees were enjoyed by all my fellow samplers. Rice and beans not so good, but once again Tex-Mex gives them an out on authenticity. The wait was about an hour and this was at 5 pm on a Saturday. Once in and seated the beer was cold and food was good. The burritos are huge, order childrens size or split with someone unless you are really hungry. Wait staff was prompt, friendly and attentive. We went to complain about our service and our messed up Orders tonight and the general manager at this location told us to take our tickets and get the f$&k out and said he was calling the cops on us. Have been here twice - The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was pleasant. Unfortunately, the food - well, was just a step above fast-food. Tried the Baja Tacos the first time, they were good, but definitely not great. Ordered a combination plate the second time, to get some variety - very disappointing. Extremely salty and the three items tasted exactly the same: a beef taco, a chicken chalupa and a cheese enchilada. The Chicken Tortilla soup was inedible because it was so spicy. Four of us ordered it and none of us could eat it. We all LOVE spicy food and eat it often, but this soup actually brought tears to our eyes! The manager did come to our table explain that this time of year the peppers used are extremely spicy from October to January. Went here for Cinco de Mayo, and we were very pleased with the service. We arrived at 4:30 they had no wait which we were surprised. Chips and dips were very good, red dip has the consistency of Pico de giyo but was very good green dip excellent. Cheese queso was really great! Ordered steak and chicken fajitas very tasty! Had a really good smoked flavor and tender Homemade tortillas were soft a little grainy but good Over all a great experience for our first time. My mother and sister in law had drinks and they arrived promptly, just tea for me since I am 8 months prego and food didnt take long to come to our table which was really nice. The service was horrible. Sat there over 10 minutes before they took our drink order. When hey finally took the food order we waited another 25 minutes for it to be delivered. The food was terrible. I ordered a chimichanga and my BF ordered enchiladas. Neither of them were edible. As a matter of fact after the first- and only bite- we asked for the check. Th food tasted as thought the ingredients were bad. Very, very bad. Horrible experience. To make matters worse a child vomited in the floor next to our table. Took staff about 15 minutes to sloppily clean it up. The manager ,came to our table. And condescendingly told us next time she would "explain" the menu. Really? Explain the menu? I can read. Judging from my previous reviews, one could easily tell that commercialism is not something I find overly enjoyable, but in the case of Chuy's, I'd say I have to make an exception. The bright colors coupled with the Elvis paintings at first seemed like a bit much, but after my encounter with the friendly staff, I couldn't help but feel comforted by all of the warm visual stimulators around me. My server, Kylee, was absolutely amazing, making great conversation, being extra attentive, and exhibiting a great knowledge of the menu via her tasteful food recommendations. I ordered the Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken, but, taking the advice of Kylee, opted to add queso sauce in replacement of the green chile to lessen the spiciness of my meal. The chicken is fried in Lay's potato chips, which added a delightfully lighter-yet-crispier texture to the breading. The chicken itself was very juicy, and the queso supplemented it greatly, providing a kick but still allowing me to enjoy the cheesy flavor without being overwhelmed by the heat. The prices were very reasonable, with free chips and salsa being provided as an appetizer, and my dish (which consisted of chicken, beans, and rice) only costing $9.99. With its unique food, warming atmosphere, and outgoing, helpful staff, the only thing you may be disappointed about your experience at Chuy's is how much money you spent tipping because of the delightful service! read more

I've probably had better food dumpster diving out a dumpster filled with fish and meat that has been in the sweltering sun for 3 days. The service was comparable to an inmate serving a correctional officer. Very little respect towards the customer and extremely unapologetic. I really would have liked to like this restaurant. But they messed up my order multiple times and were completely unapologetic about it. They made me feel bad for their mistakes. On the bright side, the Tex-Mex sauce was great. read more

I like it. We'll probably go back even though there are still so many restaurants in Lafayette we haven't tried yet. (and I was born and raised here!) The salsa was just a little spicy but I liked it. The queso compuesto was great. Definitely worth the price. I'd say the average price of meals was $9 or $10. There's a lot of visual stimulation in the restaurant like Posado's and it can be a little loud, but I felt like it was pretty clean. My Elvis chicken was good and my husband liked his combo fajitas. my experience was horrible i will not be eating here again i can promise you that. the place is so cramped. the tables are way too small. my family of 4 at a table that should have been meant for 2. there was about 8 tables outside and about 2 were occupied. we asked for an outside table and they told us there was a 20 minutes wait when only 2 tables were occupied. once we got inside and seated our service was terrible. our waitress only came to us about 4 times in the 2 hours we were there. the food was honestly not good. the food was soggy and was overpriced. it's safe to say i will not be dining her again. again also the waitresses should be dress coded. i have seen so many ass cheeks i could have sworn i was at hooters. read more

Only good thing about the experience was that our server (Mitch, awesome dude) was able to give me some soft tortillas because I wasn't about to spend $10 for 2 simple tacos, so instead had to get crunchy ones for 3. Beans seemed to resemble old dog food, and my rice was as flavorless and bland as the attitude the restaurant gives off. I really wanted to like this place from what I've heard about it. What can I say, it's Chuy's! I've never visited one that wasn't awesome! This location had a shrimp enchilada special for Lent season which was nice. I got the cheese enchiladas and they were so good! Our waiter was awesome, the manager checked on us and this facility is really clean. We went to Chuy's on a Friday evening. We were given a wait time of 45 mins, but the nice staff working there made sure we could get in earlier. We were a party of 8, made to sit on two joined tables, not of the same height. The chips were so amazing. It was fresh and the sauces were out of this world.The Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken was so amazing. The chicken, the vegetables and the guacamole were very fresh. Tasted amazing. The chicken Chalupa was pretty good. Me and my wife ordered the grandma's rocking rita and the Texas martini and I was very impressed by the drinks. The decor is something I think that needs to be worked on. It had a diner feel to it. The tables and the chairs as well. The two different sections of the restaurant felt like it had two different decors, giving it a feel of two different restaurants. The staff was amazing friendly. We had two people take orders, one for the drinks then another for the food, which might have been a little confusing. Otherwise, the staff was extremely friendly. Staff was jumping all over the place, yelling like there was a party going on and not dressed properly to work with food. We have been to the Chuy's in San Antonio many times and loved that place. They get packed very quick. The tables are packed in tight. You will get up close and personal with the people around you. Now the food. For me chips and salsa was the best thing. I had the Elvis fried chicken was supposed to be coated with lays but couldn't tell it was ok fried chicken breast smothered with a salsa Verde and cheese. All I tasted was cheese.
