They post hours online but close "whenever they feel like it" (quoted from an employee) dependent on how many patrons are in the building. Posted hours claim 2am close, went in at 11:47 on a Thursday and lights were on for last call, due to "not having enough customers" (there were about 10 people in the building at the time. On other occasions I have gone during posted hours for food/drinks only to be told kitchen was closed early. Unfortunate because we had just recommended the place to someone visiting from out of town, and the flatbreads are good. read more

I had a really great time here. However, I don't appreciate false advertisement of products served. The draft beer menu was pretty expansive, though not totally varied in styles. I think ANYONE could find something they like, which is the main point. I had some IPAs and enjoyed them. One thing I really don't like, is mislabeling of products and offerings. I ordered the Sweet Lou Flatbread which indicated it had Kalamata olives. I am always suspicious when I see that, and rightfully so. These were the standard canned black olives, which I detest (see pictures). Just change your menu to indicate black olives so I can omit them. I love Kalamata olives and to be deceived just irks me. Mistakenly came here on ladies night and was roundly ignored after 7pm. 2 star for that alone. Otherwise a great place. But don't sell me a filet and give me a sirloin. read more

We have been here several times to grab a drink. I haven't tried the food so I can't speak to that. The beer list is fairly extensive and well curated. The cocktails are more artisan than might be expected, but then again, it is River Ranch. I'm a fan of the Pink Matter. The Tap Room is clean and has a classic bar vibe with lots of wood and some games available such as darts and corn hole. The service has been fine when we've visited - not amazing and not bad, just middle of the road. read more

The beers were very good but not worth the posted $10.50 each and even less when we got the bill and were charged $11.50. When asked why they charged $1 more than advertised the bar tender shrugged and said they just raised the prices. read more

Well, disappointing is an understatement. I had 3 friends come into town last Saturday and I figured Tap Room would be the perfect place to relax since I live in the neighborhood. Unfortunately that night the employees didn't feel like walking around the bar to wait on us. We saw 3 workers behind the bar when we arrived. The girl with the short blond hair said the girl with the dark hair would help us. Yeah, she didn't. The blond hair girl saw us waiting but she was REALLY enjoying her talk to the ONE gentleman at the bar. They looked fairly young, I suppose. We sat near the far wall opposite of the area where the music is played. We didn't want to take up a booth since it was only 4 of us. I guess it's our fault for not sitting closer to the comfortable area the servers were located.. Anyway, I apologized and took them to Morvants . I think if ANYONE would've simply asked us what we wanted we would've stayed. Luckily Morvants was poppin! Food was delicious and the crown and cokes were plenty. Morvants isn't that far so looks like we'll head there in the future. Hopefully Tap will look at the cameras to figure out why they lost out on a $375 tab. They need to do something about the service. read more

Had to Kill some time waiting for our hotel room, enjoyed $4 mimosas and an old fashioned, decent, but have had better. Comfortable seating, lots of TVs and a small bar food menu. If you like beer they do $10 bucket on Sundays, Would come back. And did the next night for the Monday night specials, 1/2 price Tito vodka, flatbreads and boneless wings. High prices, mediocre food, dive-bar ambiance, uncomfortable seating, dirty men's restroom with a door that won't close properly, noisy, and a rude, surly bartender! :-( Then, to add insult to injury, this place adds a 4 or 5% credit card fee to your bill if you don't pay with cash!! (It's already bad enough that there's a 10% sales tax in LA on most things.) There are so many better places to go in Lafayette for food, drinks, and/or music -- don't waste your time or money at The Tap Room!!! read more

Is this a go to place in Lafayette or just a nice neighborhood bar in an upscale area? The bar offers a good selection of beer, an okay wine selection and a growing selection of craft cocktails. It is clean in the bar area, sitting area and bathroom (men's). There is also an area for outdoor seating. The staff is okay ---or I felt only okay with them. Perhaps they were overwhelmed or perhaps they felt there is no need for prompt service, either way it was only okay service when I think they could have been more prompt, friendlier and of more assistance/help. But perhaps I am simply needy? I would not think so but you never know. Still, I plan to return. read more

I recently moved to Lafayette from Long Beach, CA. It was a big move and a bigger change. I questioned myself many times about whether I was making a mistake or not. Well I did not make a mistake and one of the reasons I say that is because of The Tap Room. The best part about the taproom is by far the staff there. They are kind and generous and welcoming! It's become a regular place for me to go and I can bring my dog in there, Puddin. He's become a bit of a celebrity. Not only do the other customers stop to say hey to him, the staff will come around and talk to him and pet him and snuggle on him and it just makes me so happy to see that! The food is good and there are tons of TVs. They also have an area where you can play large scrabble. They also have shuffleboard which I haven't played yet but I will. It's one of my favorite games. I want to thank The Tap Room and the staff there for making me feel so welcome and being so loving to Puddin. Jillian, Ashley, Katie and AJ, thanks. I know I've forgotten a few peeps. I'm still learning names. On a side note, if you get a free beer, tip the staff. If you're there ladies night and get things half off make sure you tip for the full amount! My favorite bar ever. "I love this bar" by Toby Keith is about Tap Room. I like my suv, I like my boyfriend, but DAMN. I love this bar. Come as you are. Me and my friends come here right after work for a couple of drinks and usually all I have on is a big tshirt and slippers. They have outdoor seating and will love your puppy. They've given us titos leashes from dog promotions and bartenders always offer to get the puppy some water. I love this bar so much that I memorize the specials on the little napkin box. Speaking of which best days to go are W: Ladies night (everything 1/2 off) TR: $3.50 Jack and Crown (but get crown cause jack is shit). & Idk if you like bomb shots but those are 5 bucks on F&Sat. I love this bar so much that when I get off of work google maps tells me it's only 9 minutes to my next location. Which is taproom. Bartenders are all AWESOME. Service 100%. Found this bar completely randomly. Bartenders were friendly there were lots of TVs to watch sports but they were not blaring. They had a terrific menu of beers on tap. I had a sour beer and my husband had a coffee Porter which were both delish. read more

Asked about Founder's KBS (out of stock), so AJ recommended a great dark beer, Saint Arnold Bishop's Barrel series 17, which was smooth with deep flavor and came with two great surprises -- 13% AbV, whee-e-e-e, and a hefty price tag of $13.70 a bottle, oh-h-h-h! From the menu's Haute Dog selection, the Ze German's (half-price special at $3.25) cabbage slaw was too overwhelming for me. Tried a bite of my friend's Frito Bandito, which had a much better balance of flavors between the onions, cheese, chili, and meat. Wiener envy... yes ladies, it's a thing! The Sweet & Spicy Wings were the favorite app of the evening. Overall, a great night out with friends. Shouldn't have had the second bottle of beer! The Lafayette Tap Room has a nice and long wood bar. There are tables scattered about. Large windows make the place feel open and comfortable. Some live acoustic music was playing that added to the feel. The bar is also non smoking which I enjoy. Service is something to be desired. A bunch of cute coeds that know nothing about what the bar serves. They are friendly and working for tips. They have lots of taps. About 30. Though many are Euro macros. Stella, Peroni, Bass, ect. Lots of Abita with some Lazy Magnolia and Hook & Ladder (though the bartenders had know idea what either were). The bottle list is a bit more extensive. Several Sam Smith beers are available. Chimay, Duvel, Orval, Schneider, and Celebrator. Overall I like the Green Room better (much better quality and bottle selection). Though this place is not bad. It is a nice place in a neat part of town, but is kind of lacking for a top notch beer bar. read more

The atmosphere and the crowd is the only reason I would recommend going here. It along with Corner Bar are the only places in town of their kind: decent looking bars for 20 or 30 somethings that aren't downtown. It's a place to go for a drink after work, and they have a wide beer selection (with very few IPA's, though). Now, to the bad. I ordered raw oysters and they were god awful. Worst I've ever had. I had never actually had bad oysters before visiting the Tap Room. They were dry and tasted weird. I ate 2 and had to wash them both down with beer to mask the taste and dryness. I was planning on telling the manager, but Mr. Drunk Palate at my table was quick to scarf them down. Complaining about an empty plate makes one lose a little credibility. Either way, my best guess is that they were previously frozen or refrigerated. Not cool, when you are supposedly trying to sell a quality product, and especially not cool when that product is raw seafood. Another negative is that their beer is ridiculously priced. I had 4 beers and the bad oysters ($9-below market price, should've known) and the bill was $40 before tip. Go for the atmosphere, don't go for the oysters or to save money. The Tap Room is a good bar. They opened at 9am for the World Cup games which was awesome for me. They have alot of beer choices and beer mixers. My favorite is the "Dark Side of the Moon" which is Blue Moon on the bottom and Guiness on top. They serve great raw oysters too. The outside seating is nice for smokers like myself. It's a nice place to sit and have a beer when the weather is nice out. It's a little pricey (My Dark Side of the Moon's are 7 or 8 bucks) but you're in River Ranch so what do you expect? read more

These guys have something great going on. Granted, I do miss the HUGE draft beer selection, but they've still got enough to choose from to keep the discerning guests' mugs full. The Tap Room hosts the "Mixers" for a local leadership organization of which I am a part. They are always helpful, hospitable, and just genuinely nice. The bartenders are pleasant as well, no matter what your drink preference. This place is the perfect followup for a dinner at any number of restaurants located in this developing, beautiful area of Lafayette. Definitely one of the most enjoyable businesses in the River Ranch development. read more
