We walked in, and a server said we could find an empty seat. We were greeted by our server and ordered drinks and appetizers. My drinks were a coke and an espresso martini. My espresso was made to perfection. Our appetizers were the BBQ BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP..... Bacon wrapped shrimp in a savory NOLA style butter BBQ sauce which was delicious. We also ordered the BRISKET FRIES. Smoked brisket, pepperjack, cheddar, Cajun BBQ, chipotle aioli, and green onion. I swear those cheese fries were the best cheese fries I've ever eaten in my entire natural born life. Wow wow wow. I sat in shock about how good they were. We ordered our entrees I ordered the GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST...... Chargrilled chicken breast,', with grilled veggie medley and roasted fingerling potatoes. It was so delicious. My friend ordered the REDFISH VERMILION. Grilled redfish topped with crawfish etoufee, served with chargrilled asparagus. I tasted some of her dish. It was yummy as well. Our server was nice and kind and treated us well as he maintained the bar. The atmosphere was laid back and it seemed everyone enjoyed being there. It was our first time and we definitely will be back.

He recommended several local brews and food options, and somehow we ended up having one of those conversations that makes you feel like you've known someone longer than five minutes. We talked about traveling, different beers, Louisiana, Ohio, Atlanta, and everything in between. My favorite part of the conversation had to be hearing about the brewery owned by three Japanese women who live in Brazil. That's a story I definitely wasn't expecting when I sat down for a drink! As for the food, it was incredible. I had the seafood gumbo, which came loaded with a crab cluster and crawfish tails, and I also tried the blackened alligator. Both were amazing and full of flavor. The atmosphere was great, the beer selection was excellent, and the service made the whole experience even better. I genuinely can't wait to go back to The Chime! If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try. 6/5 from me!

The pork chop was cooked perfectly. It was juicy, incredibly tender, and honestly tender enough to cut with a fork. It had a great char from the grill that added so much flavor, and the pickled peppers on top cut through the richness of the pork perfectly. The dirty rice underneath reminded me of my mom's rice dressing and soaked up all the juices from the chop. It was one of the best pork chop dishes I've had. My wife ordered the smoke fried chicken, and it was also excellent. The crust was crispy while the chicken stayed juicy and flavorful. The sweet potato biscuits were light and delicious, and the pepper honey tied everything together nicely. For my taste, it leaned just a little on the sweet side, but it was still a very enjoyable dish. My daughter ordered the Social Cheeseburger with just meat and cheese. She loved it, and I was impressed too. Even with such a simple order, the burger was juicy, well seasoned, and served on a fantastic bun. She and my wife both could not stop talking about the hand cut fries. They were crispy, perfectly seasoned, and some of the best fries we've had in a while. From the food to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. We left very impressed and will definitely make a point to stop here whenever we are in the Lafayette area.
