I wish I had a better review to leave for Hideaway. After contemplating on not posting this, I've decided that it's best for all to know and make their decision before dining. My group of 3 wanted a bite to eat while in Downtown Lafayette - Hideaway was decided upon. We ordered cocktails and two appetizers. When the burnt ends arrived, they were not to our liking and asked the server to take them back before even touching them. The burnt ends resembled undercooked bacon tossed with sauce and thrown onto a saucer. The server graciously took it back. A few moments later, the server returned with the item and said that the "owner said this is how it's prepared and we cannot take it back." I said, "oh no, could you please ask again? We won't be eating it." The server said she was scared to go back to the owner and said I could go and ask the owner myself. I approached the owner with my plate of raw, sauced bacon pieces and asked for it to be removed from our check. The owner informed me that this is how they serve it and they don't take it back from tables. Again, I asked the owner to take it back and that (as someone who works in food for a living) this is not what we expected or wanted in "burnt ends". THIS IS WHERE IT GOT WILD! The owner then said "well if you aren't happy, we can go ahead and grab your check." Okay, let's do it. My group was presented with their check and we left. We tipped the waitress in cash, and she profusely apologized and said that the owner is always this confrontational. Bottom line - I won't dine here again. The owner creates a culture that has the servers scared to care for their guests. It definitely wasn't hospitable.

Loved this place! We had a large group and the Hideaway gladly accommodated us with a reservation. Our waiter (Jordan?) was great - funny, welcoming, and attentive. Ambiance was super cute! Drinks were great all around. I especially liked their old fashioned. We got both the salmon and pork belly deviled eggs and both were delicious! If I had to pick a favorite though, I'd actually go with the salmon. We also got the burnt ends, which weren't really burnt, and the okra which was a surprise hit. For dinner I had the house salad with steak and it was delicious. Outside, a band had started and a very mixed age crowd was dancing and having fun. It looked like a great time!

I flew in from San Diego, and my parents picked me up so we could come here for dinner. They had a great live band playing, but I was surprised they charged $10 just to sit on the patio and listen to the music--it felt a bit excessive. We opted to sit inside, where there was only one other couple. The atmosphere was quiet and a little chilly. For appetizers, we ordered the Brussels sprouts and the burnt ends pork belly. The pork belly was excellent--rich and flavorful. The Brussels sprouts had good flavor too, though they were a bit heavy on the sauce. I ordered the steak frites, which I enjoyed. The thin-cut French fries were especially good, and the aïoli added a nice touch. Our server was very friendly, offered great recommendations, and provided attentive service throughout the meal.

C'est magnifique!!!!! I visited Lafayette for the first time last weekend and checked my Yelp for some suggestions on where to go. Not much is open around here on Sunday's or Monday's- but the Hideaway on Lee is!! We showed up around 8pm on Sunday evening for dinner- and the place was packed! We were surprised to see that they had live music that night, and unfortunately there was a $10 cover per person if we wanted to sit outside. It was hot and humid thaf night so we ended up sitting inside and did not have to pay the extra money. I have to say- our dinner here was EXCELLENT. The specialty cocktails were amazing. The "Orange Blossom Special" was literally the best smelling drink I have ever tried.... IN MY LIFE. I know that's a strange thing to say- but I literally could not stop picking up my glass and smelling my drink! We started up our dinner, sharing the Poutine. Fresh cut fries soaked in a flavorful gravy, covered with cheese curds. For our entrees I ordered "Tante Jane's Salad" and added chicken. The veggies were all fresh, the dressing was light and flavorful and the chicken was juicy and well seasoned. My boyfriend ordered the Steak Frites, but unfortunately they were out of it- so he ended up getting the "cut of the day" steak. I'm not sure what cut it ended up being- but it was perfectly cooked- tender and juicy. Being our greedy selves, we also ordered a bowl of the tomato soup- It was excellent. All in all- the experience here was great. The service was fast, the employees were all nice and helpful, and the food was all prepared perfectly. Also, I have to say that the band outside was great too! There were a handful of couples outside dancing to the music. The atmosphere here is lively!! I would return!

Jalapeño lena

Came here with a group of friends and this place was literally a hide away since I couldn't even find the location. If you do get a chance to come here, I suggest ordering the smokestack lightning burger and poutine fries 1. jalapeño lena $7 cream cheese, jalapeño pepper jelly, bread & butter jalapeño, served with crackers. It was delicious, but I wish the appetizer came with more crackers for serving. 2. smokestack lightnin' $9 smash burger, sharp cheddar, onion rings, bacon and house made bbq sauce. If you had the Texas rodeo burger from burger King before; this is like a steroid upgrade version of it. 3. poutine $8 cheddar cheese curds, house made gravy. Indeed different but this poutine stole the show for me! You just have to try it 4. aioli blon fries $7 (v) truffle aioli, swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms. If you love a cheese skirt with delicious mushrooms served with fries, you gotta try this. 5. hideaway special $7 (v) swiss cheese, sauteed onions, bread & butter jalapenos, special sauce. Savory spicy fries that are on point. 6. Leadbelly $9 slow smoked pork belly, cucumber, carrots, spring mix, bread & butter jalapenos. I didn't get to try it but my friend said it was decent. 7. beignets $4.5 (ve). Good but simple beignets, as it should be.

Hideaway on Lee is a hidden gem! The food and service never disappoint. If you can catch an evening with live music you will be swept off your feet with the charm of this restaurant. The staff have always been so kind and provide the best recommendations. Our waiter Randy was wonderful! The staff seem happy to be at work and enjoy their jobs. The following are some of my family's favorite items: Brussel Sprouts, Pepper Jelly & Cream Cheese, Mexi Cali burger or grilled chicken, Tuna Steak Salad, & all the cocktails are amazing! The restaurant & bathrooms are clean. The landscaping is lovely and well manicured.

Great burgers finally seasoned patties. Soft fresh buns great patties with fresh toppings. The brussel sprouts were great smoky tasso with a sirachi mayo. The onion ring had a beer batter crunchy and satisfying. The poutine was ok my gf really enjoyed it it just wasn't my cup of tea.

I stopped by greenroom after festival and my friend and I are masc lesbians. I waited 15 min for this guy and he completely ignored us and wouldn't even look at us. I asked my other friend who is a straight pretty blonde girl to order for me and as soon as I took a step back behind her. He came up to her and took "my order". While still completely ignoring me and not even looking at me. I don't know what his deal was and I didn't think much about it until it continued to happen three days in a row. I am 23 years old, it is kind of odd that I had to ask my friends to order my beer for me because of him. I am a bartender myself, so I understand being "busy" but this dude would be standing there doing nothing and still ignoring me but as soon as a new customer came up next to me he went straight up to them within 5 seconds and took there order. One person was even nice enough to point to me and say she was here first and he looked at me then looked away and it was that moment when I realized he is intentionally doing this. I am from out of state and I have no idea who this man is. So I don't know why he pretended I didn't exist. My only thought is, since he ignored me and another masc lesbian but served our straight friends when we stepped behind them, he is discriminating. Which is a crazy word to say considering the pride flags hung everywhere. I would like to come back one day but after thinking about the situation all weekend and wondering why. My feelings are hurt.

We heard about this place for give or take a year before we made it out to Lafayette. We enjoyed…read morethe food and the vibes of the place were really cool. We sat at the counter which overlooks the kitchen. Seeing the food get cooked over wood fire and watching the dishes get made while we are was very nice. Below I will rate the food we got. I am going to leave off one of the salads we ordered due to the fact as of this review, 6-6-26, it does not appear to be on the menu. I also can't recall the name of the salad. Focaccia - 7.2/10 While it was good, it's not a bread service that I recall being great or one that comes to mind when thinking of the best bread services I have had. The bread was fresh and but not as tender as it needed to be. I wouldn't eat the bread by itself and it needed the whipped butter which accompanied it. Grilled Wedge - 8.4/10 It was really good. The onion, bacon, miso gorgonzola and candied pecans went together perfectly. I have realized salads which pair nuts, cheese, a salty element and either apples or onions is always the best type of salads. I would say this is a top 10 salad I have ever had and would order it again. Mac N Cheese - 8.2/10 It was really good as well. Not dry or stodgy at all. The mix of cheeses were good, gruyere is always a great cheese of choice. Roasted Carrots - 9.1/10 The carrots were placed on top of a yogurt mixture along with a spiced oil. The carrots were cooked perfectly and all of the flavors went great together. They don't appear to be on the menu as if this review, 6-6-26. Pork Chop - 8.1/10 While it was very good and I would get it again, there are aspects of the pork chop and overall dish which can be improved. The items which accompanied the pork chop weren't great and didn't add anything to the dish. The pork chop had a good flavor and was tender. Arguably a top 5 pork chop I have ever had but doesn't reach the places in my top 3. Filet - 8.4/10 Definitely good and cooked well however, not a steak you remember months or years later. It's hard to mess up a filet and also hard to make it so great that it separates itself from others imo. So all in all, not any fault on Vestal.

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.
