This being a roadtrip this time around I took advantage of the full kitchen versus using my camp stove. With both fructose and lactose malabsorption it's very comforting to cook for myself. And having access to a full kitchen allowed me to make a rice and steak dinner and then in the morning make a cup of rice for the road, plus hard boil chicken and duck eggs I gathered the day prior. The duck eggs were fantastic! Just like in 2023, the Cajun jam night on Wednesday didn't disappoint. Such great music and wonderfully friendly people. One experience I was hoping to relive from 2023 was the ghost encounter in the balcony room; ghost sat on my feet! Unfortunately this go around in 2026, no ghost experience so just be aware there is a spirit, albeit a friendly spirit, inhabiting the Blue Moon. This isn't just a place to stay but a place to experience. We look forward to coming back.

Great beer selection! Friendly staff! Great specials! Easily a landmark of downtown nightlife. The place to go for a weeknight, weekend, post Downtown Alive, Halloween party, Christmas party, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Columbus Day, Boxer day (Canada/ uk), day after Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, leap days, and days when the Leonid Meteor shower is visible in the southern night sky. Now that Lafayette is becoming smoke free, I'll be happy to go to this place more. They have a great beer selection with a lot of staff on weekends, so the wait isn't long at the bar. It's a cool place with a lot of nice art on the walls. The main reason why I didn't go often was because of the smoke. read more

He told the same woman that said we could stand out of the rain to tell us that we need to leave. Leaving us to stand outside in the cold and rain under an extreme cold warning. Lack of human decency is inexcusable.
