This being a roadtrip this time around I took advantage of the full kitchen versus using my camp stove. With both fructose and lactose malabsorption it's very comforting to cook for myself. And having access to a full kitchen allowed me to make a rice and steak dinner and then in the morning make a cup of rice for the road, plus hard boil chicken and duck eggs I gathered the day prior. The duck eggs were fantastic! Just like in 2023, the Cajun jam night on Wednesday didn't disappoint. Such great music and wonderfully friendly people. One experience I was hoping to relive from 2023 was the ghost encounter in the balcony room; ghost sat on my feet! Unfortunately this go around in 2026, no ghost experience so just be aware there is a spirit, albeit a friendly spirit, inhabiting the Blue Moon. This isn't just a place to stay but a place to experience. We look forward to coming back.

It's insanely popular and now I know why. First of all let me just say that there is a huge debate about who has the best burger in Lafayette. This is a burger type of town and everyone seems to want to throw their hat in the ring. I love a good burger just as much as the next person, so the friendly competition is fine by me. I ordered the Hawaiian Cheese Burger and it was perfect...a deliciously seasoned and hand formed half pound beef patty with bacon, pineapple and pepper jack cheese. Yum! It comes with a pickle spear and a bag of chips (Zapp's, of course) and was just under $10. Fun atmosphere, delicious burgers and eight locations all over Lafayette will keep me coming back to Legends!
