There's just something I really like about this place.... I have been here twice, and have great experiences both times. The staff are very friendly, knowledgable about the menu, and are on top of everything. They have a salsa bar which is self service beyond the initial complimentary offering - I think there may be a time frame for this, but I am not sure. My last meal (sorry, was a bit ago) was the avocado special of the day.. It was an twice fried avocado which was stuffed with chicken, cheese, and spices.. There is so much to say about this place. I have tried many things on the menu and my all-time favorites are the Chile rellenos and the chicken enchiladas. The #4 combo is the best of both worlds. It comes with an enchilada and Chile relleno with choice of protein. I love the flexibility of being able to select from their sauces. Queso is my go-to sauce. The Chiken Chile relleno is generously filled with hand-pulled chicken and cheese and it comes deep fried but if breading is not your thing, they will grill it. It can be a bit spicy as you get towards the stem where all the seeds are, but nothing that can't be cooled down with a house margarita. My very first visit was a mid-Saturday afternoon and the boisterous crowd was part of my enjoyment at The Easton location. I'd heard many guys from the San Antonio area get excited that Chuy's was here. I've never been a fan of Tex-Mex period end of story. I changed my mind with this visit. FLAVORS WERE DISTINCT, CLEARLY DEFINED AND ABUNDANT. PORTIONS WERE LARGE BUT DEFINITELY NOT OVERDONE. MENU VARIETY AND DESCRIPTIVE CLARITY ALLOWS FOR A SLEW OF PALATES. Salsas were a hit! Love Chuys! We have it in Texas and we're excited to see a restaurant open in Columbus. The Creamy Jalapeño ranch dip is the best sauce ever. Ask for it with your chips and salsa, it's sooooooooooo good!! Usually I fill up completely on chips and salsa, so I ordered a large tortilla soup. It was really really good! Usually I get the Lite Plate, since like I mentioned I fill up on chips and jalapeño ranch. Fiancé got the Southwestern Enchiladas, and took half of it home. Food: 4 Service: 2 So I have been to Chuy's twice now and I have to say that I am "meh" on it. The food both times was quite enjoyable. The first time I was there I got a burrito and it was great. The second time that I came I got the fajitas and they were fantastic. They give you plenty of toppings to go on them and the meat is tender and tastes great from the beer marinade. I normally don't do chips but the sauces that they provide are super good so I made an exception here. The service on both adventures was mediocre at best. The first time I only saw our waitress 2-3 times and our drinks sat empty the entire meal. The second time we had a nice guy and he was very attentive at the start. Half way through the meal he just disappeared. He came back at the end of the meal and seemed to be out of it. It was a super weird transition and isn't something that I have experienced before. We will probably go back to Chuy's a few more times so that I can figure out how to make their fajitas but if the service fails again then once I get the recipe down I will call it quits. read more

This was probably one of the poorest dining experiences I have had in quite a while. When we were seated, my associate sat down and brushed against the wall and a nail ripped a hole in his shirt. When it was brought to the server's attention, she called a "manager" over who feigned concern and said she would get my friend's name and number. She then evaporated and the server brought our food. After we were finished, the server never mentioned anything, nor offered a comp on the meal. As we walked out, the "manager" made eye contact with my friend and looked away.. I have been to Chuys 2 times. It seems to be a popular place for other people but it isn't for me. I really enjoy the food but I think the prices compared to other ethnic foods are a little steep. My wife and I enjoy this restaurant and try to make a stop once every couple of months since we don't really live down the street. Chuy's has a great atmosphere, food, and drinks. So, when you sit down they will serve you chips and salsa but not just any chips and salsa. The chips are always fresh, very thin, and lightly salted. The salsa is fresh diced tomatoes with red onions and just a hint of spice. You can easily go through two baskets of chips and I would recommend asking for the creamy jalapeño dip. Food wise, Chuy's tex-mex menu is pretty darn good. I usually go for the Chuychanga with the green chile sauce. My wife likes their tacos, which I agree with her, they are very good as well. Now, for dessert I feel there is only one choice and it's the tres leches cake; I promise you will not regret it and you can thank me later. I love Chuy's! First, if you have a dog, bring in a framed photo for a free appetizer. The house chips and fresh salsa are good, with a little spicy kick. You can ask for the jalapeño ranch dip for your chips for no additional charge. I prefer the chicken flautas with the Mexican rice and received beans. My girlfriends and I went here a few days ago. Good service and tasty food. They have a nacho bar during happy hour. This is free. My only complaint was that the nacho bar wasn't completely full and I was scraping the bottom of the barrel for most of my food. My girlfriend said the margaritas were very good. I don't get it. At all. Met a friend for a very early dinner as she had a flight to catch. We were seated at a tiny booth and greeted by a waitress who wanted to be somewhere else, anywhere else. My grandmas rockin Rita was great and by far the best thing about this experience. The chips were tasty but very oily. The salsa was ok...very odd, so much VINEGAR?!? Bizarre. We asked our waitress what she recommends...the special-stuffed avocado. That was it, the one thing she recommended so we went with it. There was exactly one piece of chicken in my dish and the sauce was so spicy it made my bland rice and beans a welcome respite. I can only speak for the margaritas, the nacho car and the service - all of which were top notch. We visited recently and the wait was about 30 min for a table but there was open seating at the bar. Happy hour lasted until 7 and I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita, it was delicious. They also had a peach sangria and a ruby red margarita in the machines. We were able to sample them and they were tasty but not included in happy hour. The nacho car is also open till 7. Has refried beans, ground beef, cheese and salsa. The bartender also gave us some creamy jalapeño dip which was great and not too spicy. We needed up eating nachos and didn't even order dinner. Our bartender was great. Our server was working herself to death due to the insane amount of diners on the evening we were there, and so we totally understand but she forgot our refills, and didn't bring enough silverware for everyone at our table. This is on top of the fact that the table next to ours had a leak in the ceiling and was dripping all over the floor and onto the table next to us. I don't often visit Easton, but I was dropping off something to a friend who lived in the area. One of my friends always raves about Chuy's so I figured I'd stop for some lunch (late lunch, mind you) mid-day. It took them a good 10 mins. to even seat me. I had to be back in Westerville to take my mom to her doctor's appointment so I was a little hesitant to even order when I finally got to sit down. Well, I can't report on the food, and typically, I have photos of my food. This time, I can't. I had ordered, and over 45 mins waiting, I left for two reasons. Obvious one was because I had to make that appointment. The 2nd is due in part to how inappropriate the server was to me. When he brought me my drink, he asked if I was single and what I was doing that night. I mean, really? There's people about 10 feet from me and you're ok with saying that to a patron? Then, he came and actually sat down next to me and I had to scoot my chair over as he sat there and kept trying to be flirty and rub shoulders with me. Finally, he went back to check on my food, and another patron told me to just leave because he could see how uncomfortable I had become, and that he would get the manager and tell him everything. Thank you to the guy that did that for me. I didn't know what to do, and he was being extremely aggressive, and this gentleman caught it quickly. Sorry, Chuy's. I'm beyond astounded your other employees were walking around seeing your server do this to me and didn't seem to find anything wrong with it. At least now other women can read what I had to deal with and make sure to watch their back when they walk into your establishment. read more

The regular salsa can be a bit spicy for this wimp so I also ask for the jalapeño ranch. I mix the two together.its my go-to since a serve suggested it. I've tried all the enchiladas here and have to say the standard beef, cheese are the best. The chicken doesn't do it for me. My only complaint is they don't have draft beer. Awful service that started with snarky hosts at the door. This is our third trip to this location. Out first encounter was on a Wednesday night at 9:15PM. We were greeted by a host who we thought was holding the door open for us. We told him that we had 2 for dinner. He replied with, "Great." ....as he handed us a to-go menu. We took the hint and promptly turned around and left. The same hint was being given to other couples as they arrived. The place is supposed to be open until 10PM. Assuming that it was a fluke we decided to try this restaurant about 2 months later. Glad we did...great service & food! Although the margaritas were served in a pint glass. For almost a $10 price tag, it was definitely not worth it. In the mood for Mexican food we decided to head to Chuys for date night. Tuesday night at 9:20PM. Wow-Just Wow....what a mistake. We were greeted by a witchy host who informed us that there was open seating in the bar. Stating that we had worked all day and would prefer a booth. We didn't want to sit in the bar. The host responded with an eye roll & loud sigh. Without saying a word, she shimmied off and waved at us with menus. We were seated at a 2 person tiny booth. We politely requested a larger booth-to which we received another sigh. We were unsure as to why we were getting so much attitude because the place was dead. There were multiple booths unseated. However, once seated we noticed that our table was dirty and wobbly. We sat unacknowledged for almost 10 minutes. I then got up and went back up to the host stand. I requested a different booth due to the broken table and no server. The same hostess who seated us, stormed off in a huff towards my husband-I followed. She walked over to my husband and said, "I guess WE are moving." She grabbed the menus and moved us to a different table. Which btw was also broken. It wobbled more than the first table. Deciding to just call, "Uncle" we almost got up and left. However, we were hungry and just wanted to dine. I climbed under the table and leveled it. I got a towel from the server station and wiped the table & booth off. After a really long time our waitress arrived. We were served the spiciest salsa I have ever tasted. Upon inquiry. we were told that was all they had. My husband's drink was refilled once. I ordered a frozen margarita. It was served in a short plastic cup. Our food took forever. When it came out it was dry and on very hot plates. Probably due to sitting under heat lamps. We listened to servers say awful things about customers. One server made remarks about an elderly lady being fat as he complained about his job. For what it is worth, we will not return. Our bill for a party of 2 was almost $60.00. We received awful service. The place was dirty. Photos of the dirty light fixture that hung over our table & food are attached. Clearly, it has not been cleaned in awhile. The food is good but not worth the culture of "hostile and lacking service." This place will not be in business for very long unless they make serious hospitality changes.
