Mi Tradicion was BOOMING on a cold, rainy Friday night!! My group and I helped contribute to that boom with a group of 10-12 people, which our waiter handled WONDERFULLY. We were not the only large group, and although it was CRAZY busy, everything seemed to run pretty smoothly... This place is SUPER popular, and it almost felt TOO crowded, but it all worked out. You'll find all the usual Americanized Mex. favorites on the menu, along with a few interesting surprises. Prices are VERY reasonable, more so than my "local" Mexican joint back in Springfield. I was tempted to try one of their soups, but went with the vegetarian burrito, which was FULL of fresh (not mushy!!) vegetable and not overloaded with too much cheeeeeese!! Mexican food has such great flavor; I'm happy whenever I can actually taste what I'm eating without it being SMOTHERED in cheese!! Our separate checks were handled expertly once we were ready to leave. We lingered for a bit after our meal without feeling rushed at all, in spite of how busy it was that night. There are just SO MANY great choices in the area for good Mexican food, and I'm sure there are tons of loyal customers here. Since I traveled close to an hour to meet up with people here, I probably won't become a "regular," but if I'm back in the area, it'd be on my list of places to revisit... BUEN PROVECHO!!

    El Poblano and piña colada

Traditional Mexican atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and the service was quick. I ordered the El Poblano, a poblano pepper stuffed with cheese and grilled over top of skirt steak. The portion was huge and it was very tasty. The piña colada needed less ice and more pineapple and coconut fruit..

Fried ice cream. Not too many desserts here but this is a good option.

Probably the best Mexican restaurant I've been to in the last few years. The menu is HUGE, I tried a dish with seafood served in a half pineapple - delicious! The house frozen margarita is awesome too, and pretty strong. I love how this place is decorated, very happy and colorful. I will come back if I'm in town.

Honestly a great place. My friend and I came here after the pool and ordered dinner. I had enchiladas with a michalada and she had fajitas with a margarita. Both of our meals were great, we sat outside on the patio bc it was beautiful and the music was great and the service was great! Honestly lo complaints and I'll be back!

Saturday afternoon getaway success. We came to get a meal away from home. They are following all guidelines so felt safe. Got strawberry margaritas which were sooo good. Veggie chimichanga meal ... yummy! Filled with broccoli, yellow squash and zucchini. Added guacamole.... as everyone should. Yes it's worth it! My cohort got the shrimp plate (sizzling good) Would definitely return. So glad to have tried it because the previous restaurant wasn't as special

Taco Tuesday! Beef and chicken tacos for 1.99 each. Lime margaritas for 6.99 each and were VG. Huge menu with all the classic options. Food is generally 3* Excellent servers who serve with a smile. Great interior and exterior seating, both with a nice environment. We are fans and will return!

Pretty decent Tex-Mex. We ordered this as a pick up order and everything was still hot by the time we made it home. The choriqueso was over all tasty. More of a cheese dip versus what most would consider queso. I'd get it again. Both meals ordered had a lot of food, enough to make two meals. I really wish that the enchiladas had more cheese sauce on top, they were very dry and the chicken inside wasn't seasoned. Would come back a to try a few more things.

It's truly special when a server makes the effort to get to know everyone at the table, make jokes and join in on the laughs. I was visiting Columbus for the weekend, and throughout the rest of my stay after dinner, I can say this meal was a highlight! The atmosphere was beautiful, and we were seated right away! The cocktails were amazing, I had a strawberry fields. Now as for the short ribs, they melted in my mouth! They paired perfectly with the risotto, truly a great plate of food that felt like home! I have already recommended this place to friends visiting Columbus soon!

We visited yesterday around 3 PM after seeing the new Mario movie. We didn't have a reservation, but seating wasn't an issue at that time. As always, the restaurant was clean, lively, and welcoming. The staff was very kind, and our waitress was attentive throughout our visit. We ordered many of our usual favorites, but my entrée--the braised short rib--was not quite up to the standard I've come to expect. While the meat itself was still tender, moist, and flavorful, the risotto was disappointing. It lacked its usual creamy texture and was noticeably too thick. Additionally, the dish was served with only carrots as the root vegetable, whereas in the past it has included a variety of vegetables that really elevated the overall flavor and presentation. I was especially disappointed because this was actually the first time I remembered to take a photo of my meal before digging in. I came in fully intending to finally leave a glowing five-star review based on all of our previous great experiences--but unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to that expectation. This was surprising, especially given how consistently great this dish--and the restaurant overall--has been during our previous visits. We've dined here at least five times this year and even celebrated our son's third birthday here, so this experience felt out of character. One difference worth noting is that we typically visit for dinner, and this was our first time coming during the afternoon. It's possible there may be differences in the kitchen or service during that time. We do plan to return, as we're hoping this was just an off day. This place has earned a lot of goodwill from us over time, but we wanted to share this experience in case it's helpful for others.

Their visual chart is a…read moregodsend for cocktail explorers, and all of the drinks came out delicious and exactly as described. It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.

On to the offerings, it's a small menu, that appears to be seasonal... small menus means you're able to perfect things ;) My husband and I ordered a snack plate, with 'Spressy and Double Entendre on the side.
