    Watermelon frozen with salt

I've loved Chuy's forever and so do lots of people so it's going to be packed at lunch and dinner. I dropped in recently after an appointment and sat at the bar and had the best time. I got a seat at the bar easily because it was after the lunch rush. It was green chile season so I tried all the festival sauces with my chips and flautas. I've been coming to Chuy's for 20+ years and I tend to get the same thing but I have a few favorites. I order the chicken flautas with the green chile rice and refried beans. Chuy's refried beans are my favorite. I always start with guacamole and chips and a frozen margarita on the rocks, usually watermelon. I think the fajitas are great and my friends usually order the chuychanga and the chile relleno enchilada combo. For birthdays, the tres leches is definitely a showstopper and worth the calories. If you can squeeze in outside of the regular lunch and dinner hours, you'll find it to be calmer but I've never minded the wait.

Location Just off 183, Cedar Park Parking Large open lot Atmosphere Mexican cantina family restaurant Seating Inside, outside patio-great for groups Service Outstanding-immediate water, chips replenished with huge scoop frequently. Menu Appetizers, complimentary chips and salsa/white jalapeño sauce, tacos, soup, burritos, enchiladas, salads, quesadillas, main dishes. We had the quesadilla with chicken-served with a generous dollop of sour cream, a spoonful of guacamole, small lettuce pieces, diced tomatoes. It was more like 4 tacos than a quesadilla but excellent-loaded with chicken and cheese. The soup was chock full of chicken and veggies. The enchilada platter was a big serving with rice and beans. Summary Dependable local Mexican restaurant chain-great food, outstanding service, good location. Love this place!!

Burned onions and peppers. Can't even tell what they are!

Ate at Chuy's in Cedar Park on 183A today. The waitress was great. We ordered fajitas for two that we split 3 ways. We asked for extra onions and red bell peppers. It took a while to receive the food but it was okay as we weren't in a hurry. What we received was burned and charred fare. The onions and peppers were burned to a crisp. EVERY SINGLE ONE. The beef was so charred on several pieces we couldn't eat it. The chicken was so overcooked it was mushy. I was shocked. I asked for extra onions and peppers since we couldn't eat any of the ones provided. We were brought about 7 onions and 12 peppers. I was getting upset. I asked for the manager. She came over and acted like it was normal and what were we complaining about. I never raised my voice. Just shocked. Finally she said do you want us to prepare a fresh plate. At first I said no, but my family said yes because the meat was burned and dry. We decided to get it to go. The fajitas were $40 so the manager took off $20, which I thought that was nice. I wasn't expecting something for nothing. Well, when we got home I opened it up and was surprised to see 4 pieces of chicken and 4 pieces of beef. I looked at the ticket and she had them prepare for fajitas for 1.So the entire platter that we could not eat we were charged $20 and then got a single order and paid another $20. I will never eat at this location again. I've heard this is a hit or miss location. Well it was definitely a miss today. I don't mind driving to round rock to another location, even though this one is 5 minutes from my house. This was very disappointing and the lack of mgmt was a surprise.

Got the Kings Memorial Combo and it was really good. The enchiladas had great sauce but honestly the beans and rice were my favorite part. The creamy jalapeno ranch with the chips was the star of the show and something we do not have in California. The queso was also solid and worked perfectly with the dips. Chips were a little on the chewy side but the dips made up for it. Sweet tea was fresh and spot on. Service is always quick and the staff is super sweet every time. The place has a fun vibe with quirky and colorful decor that makes it feel lively and welcoming. Portions are generous and the plates come out looking just as good as they taste. I can see why this is a Texas favorite. Overall, not a bad experience or vibe to the restaurant and definitely more of a chain and fast food sit down restaurant! Some good food overall!

I'm increasing my review to 5 stars due to the service in the bar area. My last few visits I've eaten in there and the service has been really good. I've dined at both busy and slow times, lunch and dinner. My servers have been on top of things, even when they have been overwhelmed. Each server stayed on top on of my drinks--a margarita never went totally dry before another one was offered! The grilled chicken in my tacos and quesadillas is still solid and tasty; the jalapeno ranch is top notch. And you can't beat Tito's Lemonade!

You can join the waitlist in advance of arrival so you don't have to wait as long - which is a nifty feature if you know about it in advance. They have fun frozen drinks and the standard variety of Tex Mex offerings. Prices seem a little steep for a chain restaurant but the food is decent.

Kids mini tacos and rice. There should be 3 but one was already eaten!

Now I remember why I stopped supporting this place prior to Covid. Terrible bartender Bri, just awful. I've worked in this business a long enough time to know you don't go complain about a customer in front of them to the other bartender because YOU GOT MY ORDER WRONG. Corn tortillas in every restaurant I've ever been to means hard shell, not soft corn, which in reality was a flour tortilla I was given. If you needed to know what kind of corn tortillas I wanted because there was a choice she should have asked. Not only that, she didn't give me napkins or silverware with my appetizer. The queso here I'm not a fan of but her smug attitude like she's somebody" is hilarious.

I love Chuy's! Have for a long time but COVID killed my favorite entree. Elvis fried chicken. I was over the moon to see that this glorious item is back!!! Amy was an amazing waitress and the food came out fast. This place might be a franchise but it is still an amazing place for Tex Mex. Atmosphere is fun and the energy adds something hard to explain but I definitely needed it and I'm glad I went!

The chips were good, but I much prefer a thinner white corn chip. The red salsa was very good; the creamy stuff was bland. The rice and beans were above average. The guacamole was a mess. It was bland, and the whole tostada--with guacamole, lettuce and chopped tomatoes--was slathered in something sweet and weird. I just pushed it aside. Excellent crispy taco shell, but the carne molida was dry, overcooked and disappointing. The cheese enchilada was awful. Wrong cheese. I prefer (correct) American, not cheddar. But it was good quality cheddar and not that stringy, bubble gum consistency stuff I run into occasionally. There was only a trace of what I assumed was supposed to be the chili con carne gravy (per the menu) so I requested more gravy which was thin, bland and somewhat tomato tasting, not chili con carne sauce. I ate the rice, beans, taco and a couple bites of enchilada--and left hungry. The service was outstanding.
