But the location in Cedar Park has been so popular average wait time is over an hour. So after months and months of holding out I went in for a very early dinner and waited 5 minutes. When we were done eating the wait time increased to 30 minutes. I've had everything here except the Elvis Memorial Combo. It's three enchiladas, rice, beans a taco and a big tostada with melted cheese. Honestly, and maybe it was at this location but the enchiladas were not as good as the other enchiladas on their menu. For me it's always been the Santa Fe blue corn stack that I get when in the mood for enchiladas, but this version wasn't as tasty. I called the restaurant to let them know and was redirected through the front 3 times until finally I asked it they were concerned at all that they may be feeding their customers plastic. Final talked to a manager that didn't seem too concerned. She refunded the burrito on the order and would go talk to the kitchen. If this was in one of my kids meals it could have choked them. We ordered Curb Side To Go on Saturday and got there 5 minutes early. Checked in, got the confirmation. 20 minutes go by, still no food, still not update I text asking for an ETA, no response. 30 minutes go by and I'm a little annoyed ask for ETA was told "we're so busy it may be a while and can't give you an ETA." After 45 minutes I go in and ask to speak with a manager, she said "we're swamped but I'll go check". She goes to the back and instantly comes out with my (cold) food and says "I'll refund your order". I leave, get home to find the tortillas are cold and hard, the cheese is room temperature and impossible to scrape off the menu and the receipt for ready showed 10 minutes before I got there-meaning the food sat in the back for over 45 minutes with me there and their knowing I was there. It is Wednesday afternoon now and I am on the phone with the location to get the refund that was promised on Saturday but still has not been posted. I've never had an issue at this location with dine in, but would NOT recommend ANYONE use them for curb side to go-or if you do you may want to skip the whole texting thing and just go in as soon as you get there so that you get your food at its freshest. read more

Then, we had to wait 45 minutes for our food to be served after we ordered. The food was served piecemeal with some of our party getting their food at least 15 minutes before others. I've been coming to Chuy's, every now and again, since they've opened. My family and I went yesterday late afternoon so there wasn't a wait. We got seated at a booth with a greasy floor with trash, silverware, and food on the booth's floor. The booth itself, had beans, a dead spider and other dried food. The blinds were filthy and flies were flying around, it was like eating outside. This place is in desperate need of a deep cleaning, all they seem care about is clear the tables. I pray the kitchen isn't as filthy. Will not be going back. Oh, and as we left trashed lined the plants outside, this last experience was utterly disgusting. The place was crowded on a Saturday night, but I'm glad I finally tried out Chuy's! As a warning, I'm lactose intolerant, my review does not include the cheese or sour cream that is Tex Mex. When we first went in to get seats, the hostess took us down, gave us a buzzer, and informed us that it would be a 20-25 minute wait. It was about 15 minutes before the buzzer went off, and we were seated immediately after. The first thing that I noticed was that despite the crowd, the restaurant was a bit chilly, so bring an outer layer if that's a concern! They brought us chips, salsa, and our choice of a dip. The table got the creamy jalapeño, and my friends loved it and couldn't get enough. Despite the restaurant being very large and very busy, our server was great with keeping our water cups and chip baskets filled. We all got our orders pretty quickly, though the chips were enough to keep us distracted while we waited. I ordered the chicken enchilada with green chili, no cheese. However, when everyone else's food arrived, my order was an enchilada that was filled and topped with cheese, no chicken at all! Because the restaurant was so busy, I had to get up and find the waiter. However, he acknowledged that the enchilada was not the order he'd taken down, and took the plate back, ensuring me that my dinner would be taken care of. I ended up eating after everyone else was mostly done, but despite Chuy's being so busy, I was impressed with how they dealt with everything. Also, my food was warm and delicious, even without cheese! I can only imagine how good it would be with. The rice was perfectly flavored, the beans were creamy, and the enchilada had a perfect amount of chili, which was surprisingly flavorful and not overpowering at all! For such a busy restaurant, everything ran pretty smoothly and customer service was an A. Also, the food was SO GOOD, especially for the price. I'd definitely come again! read more

TLDR: This location is clearly understaffed and does not follow basic food safety practices. The employees and customers deserve better. I placed an order online and was told it would take 45min to make. No big deal because it was a Saturday and I was expecting a bit of a wait. Showed up 50min after placing the order to pick it up via curbside. Sent in the message like I was told to and received a reply from the (clearly working) system telling me to wait in my car and someone would be out shortly. So I did. For forty five minutes. People started leaving their cars and just crowding around the employee exit waiting for someone to pop their head out so they could take their food from the clearly exhausted waitress. I chose to wait where I was told to wait so I wouldn't cause more chaos for the staff. I should've just acted like everyone else. After one full hour of waiting a server was finally able to push through the crowd of people clearly blocking an emergency exit (something a manager should care about) to tell us their system was broken and she was coming out to check on some orders that had been sitting there a while. We gave her our name and asked her to PLEASE make sure our food hadn't been just sitting in the danger zone since 6:30 (it was now 7:35). We were willing to wait to have it remade, even if it took a while. We just didn't want to get sick or pay for cold food. She came back about ten minutes later and promised it had been remade, and it hadn't been sitting out. We got home (less than a 5min drive) and the sauce/cheese was solid and congealed, the burritos were stone cold, and the tortillas were hard. We chose to just reheat it and try to call to complain, but no one answered. That day or the next day. I tried to reach out through the official website, but no one answered there either. We shared, both were cooked perfectly and came to our table hot. The Boom Boom sauce was amazing, we joked how we should've ordered some to take back home with us, also the Jalapeño "ranch" sauce was different and definitely like nothing we'd had before. we defiantly would go back, need one of these in California! bought 2 souvenir t-shirts and left a generous tip for the great service and food. read more

Single worst Chuy's experience. This was really depressing and sad considering that Chuy's is an Austin staple. I dont know what is going on at this Cedar Park location but we definatly expect much better from a buisness that has been around for so long. Im not even going to go into EVERYTHING that went wrong and only mention a few. First, the hostess took our number and we sat directly in front of her booth. After 30 minutes and noticing patrons who had checked in after us being seated, I asked her if our table was ready yet and she proceeded to tell me that she had paged me 20 minutes ago. I informed her that she in fact had not paged me at all. I asked to confirm the number and of course she had it all wrong. Regardless and irrelevant because we had been seated INFRONT of her the whole time. Okay, no big deal. After being seated it took 20 minutes to get our simple drink orders (no alcohol just sodas) Then our waitress basically threw the queso down on the table infront of my two little cousins. After eventually getting our food delivered, we (and the family next to us) had to ask 4 different staff for silverware. We sat for 10 minutes waiting for silverware while our food sat in front of us and got cold. My husband finally had to get up and go to the hostess stand for silverware. We overheard one staff telling another table that all of the silverware was dirty and needed to be washed! Seriously?! After all of that, the food was depressing (and cold) as well. My husband and I both had stomach aches later. Come on Chuy's! What are you doing?? I can whole heartedly say that we will never be visiting this location again in the future. Not worth the hassle, not worth the wait, not worth the rude staff, not worth the price, and definitely not worth the stomach ache. read more

As a long time Austinite I have of course been to Chuy's, but in my search of new and different Mexican restaurants I realized I have neglected the tried and true. Having run errands all morning I found myself ravenous at about 11:30am. Then, through the dense populous of shopping center concrete I spied my oasis...Chuy's! They had the usual young-things manning the host stand, immediately delivering friendly greetings to all who came through the door. My hostess was kind enough to lead me to the last available booth. Ahh, relief for my aching back. Shopping is exhausting! My server soon arrived bearing hot, crispy tortilla chips (sooo thin but not easily crushable--how do they do that?) and fresh (and I mean ultra-fresh) salsa. I asked if she would bring me some of their creamy jalapeño dip to go with the salsa (a must, but you have to ask for it), and it was promptly delivered with a smile. For some reason it takes me forever to decide what to order--like it's a life or death decision! A Chile Relleno?Chicken Tortilla Soup? Veggie Enchiladas? Or Cheese? Which sauce to go on top??? My long-suffering server took my order for their Chicken Flautas, with the chipotle sauce on the side, and double charro beans to-go (which I will eat like a soup later) instead of "rice and beans." I have to mention here one of my pet-peeves about most Mexican restaurants...every dang dish has to come with rice and beans! Beans and rice! Rice and beans! Aaargh! Nothing but cheap (and fattening!) filler, in my opinion. So if I don't want the beans and rice does my plate cost less? Can I substitute salad or veggies or a taco instead? This is a very important issue in Tex-Mex land! The flautas and container of charro beans arrived quickly, cutting short the time I was spending watching the woman through the kitchen window make flour tortillas from scratch. Man, I bet she's got strong arms! My plate had 6 flautas lined up in a neat row, fresh from the fryer and perfectly crispy, next to servings of guacamole, cool sour cream, and a small bowl of fiery chipotle sauce. A beautiful plate. With salsa and creamy jalapeño dip--Awesome! Then when my check came, along with a to-go box for the half of my meal that I couldn't finish, it was just $10! For lunch AND dinner! I was a very happy camper. The food and service were both outstanding, all for a good price. Now I remember why I love Chuy's! P.S. They have a great Happy Hour at Chuy's because not only do they have drink specials (yummy margaritas), they still have HH until 7pm (not this new 6:30pm cut-off time baloney), AND they have complimentary queso and seasoned ground beef that you can help yourself to along with chips and salsa. I've been going to Chuys since they opened on Barton Springs in the 80's. Went to the San Marcos location today. My only impression is they just don't care whether they serve good food and margaritas. I ordered a swirl, and sent it back. I don't think they even bother to put tequila in it anymore. And a small was 11 bucks! Everything that was good about their food, they got rid of. Their Charro beans were so good. Now gone. Taco salad? No more delicious flour tortilla to break off and dip. The only thing that is still good is the creamy jalapeno dip. Sadly, I think I'm done. I've tried different locations over the years, and it's a steady decline in products they offer. read more

The decorum was interesting - as there were toy action figures hanging from the lines running across the dining area. Lol! This is definitely a #TEXMEX place. Being a 28 years of Texan I really love Chuy's always my first choice but this time I was very disappointed. Food was really good and server was very nice but when I asked my favorite salsa and I told her that I want a big size and nachos . When I came home and open the bag I saw that it has a small size of salsa, and a half a bag of nachos which is really surprising for me. I should have gotten two!The food was hot and delicious. I got two chuychangas which were incredible, chicken quesadillas, and the panchos with fajita beef. Loved every single thing. The woman who brought the food out to the car was very friendly. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I will definitely order from them again. They sell their frozen margaritas by the gallon and I will definitely remember that the next time I have a get together.
