I LOVE LOVE LOVE CHUY'S. It is now one of my favorite spots to go for lunch. Everything at chuy's is very laid back and casual. The quickest way to get served is if you go sit by the bar. Funny Mexican place near Sandy Springs north of Atlanta. Not sure what design motif they were going for with the hubcaps on the ceiling and the license plates on the wall (do they do that in Mexico?!) but the food was a grade above fast food and the chips and salsa on the table was plentiful. I have a confession...I am a margarita girl. It just may be running through my veins, so Chuy's makes me happy. :). They have great happy hour specials and frozen margaritas that are out of this world. If that wasn't enough, they also have free chips, salsa, cheese and meat to keep your sober during this hour of happy. The food was ok but the service not so much so. I ordered take out on a Saturday and picked up my food. I ordered a burrito but asked them to add queso to my burrito. I wish I would've checked the inside before leaving but it's not that easy or ideal to open a burrito for risk of it falling apart. If it were nachos it would've been easy to verify. Upon getting home, I opened my food and took a bite into the burrito. It didn't have any queso! I still ate the burrito but it's never as good when you're craving it in a different way. I called the restaurant to ask for a refund on the added queso. The person who picked up asked for my order number and then asked me to hold. He came back on a min later and said he just talked to the chef who prepared that order and said the chef is absolutely certain they put the queso in there. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I said no there definitely wasn't. He then asked me to text a picture of the burrito to him. I said that's not possible because I already ate it. He seemed to not believe me so I asked to speak to the manager. He said he was the manager. I couldn't believe this person was the manager. I asked to speak to someone else. He said they all report to me and they'll all tell you the same thing. I then just hung up because it didn't seem worth my time arguing. If I remember correctly, i remember an older overweight gentleman behind the counter who was dressed differently than the others. If I had to guess that was the manager. The small charge isn't worth my time to get upset about but it was the principle that bothered me. read more

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Was very busy but was seated right away. Chips were excellent. Salsa on the hot side for me but my husband loved it. Cheese dip very good. Entree very good; I had three crispy tacos--could barely eat two. Refried beans were my favorite. Our hotel recommended it and it was a great choice. read more

A friend recommended this place as the best Tex-Mex in Georgia, and perhaps this colored my expectations because I was expecting something that tasted very good. I guess she just meant there's not a lot of good Tex-Mex in Georgia. Without a doubt, some of the worst service I've ever had. Asked 3 times for napkins, and the hostess went to an empty table and dug through used ones to hand them to us. We have been coming here for sometime during our lunch hour. Actually 4-5 of us. Once or twice a week. Food is decent and service was pretty good until today. Catherine our server had such an attitude like she was doing us a favor, by serving us. She should not be serving the public. Even if this was a bad day for her, you don't bring that kind of attitude when you are serving others, she didn't bother to pre bus the table. Gave this one three attempts -- with co-workers, a date and then solo. Thumbs down. First trip on opening week with co-workers, had fantastic service but mediocre chicken enchiladas. Way too loud and chaotic. Second trip, solo around happy hour within first month of opening, had two nice young bartenders but some type of manager bartender kept butting in, messing up their orders and my service. Same manager-type stayed at the bar messing around and telling another bar patron -- someone he knew from a previous job -- all about their business plan and how they were out to steal all the employees of another, nearby restaurant. This went on non-stop for about 45 minutes, and I couldn't stand it any more. (Oh, happy hour: You serve yourself tortilla chips and salsa from a weird bar in a nearby car trunk. They think it's hip, but I think it's very unsanitary.) Final trip, on a lunch date (their choice), the service was terrible, it was loud again, and the food was only passable. I overpaid for a single taco and minimal sides. This does NOT live up to the hype, and I won't be going back. read more

Chuys has the best sauces around! The salsa Fresca & creamy jalapeño are both awesome. My other favorite is the boom boom sauce which is a cheesy / spicy sauce - which I recommend on everything! They have ample vegaterian options (even a gluten free entree) which is important for me and my boyfriend. I love chuys!!! read more

I have always been a fan of Chuy's. The food is very good and reasonably priced. I love the Baja shrimp tacos. But my recent customer service experience will keep me coming back. I was charged twice on my credit card by mistake. They immediately rectified the situation, were very apologetic, and even sent me a gift certificate. Thanks Chuy's! read more

A great place to grab some good mexican food. One of the best in the Perimeter area. The place looks like a spanish version of the bahamas and junk yard combined, but the atmosphere is great. Had the fish tacos and queso, both were delicious. Can't wait to go back and try something else. read more

BEWARE OF FOOD POISONING!!! Chuy's has been my favorite tex-mex restaurant for years. When I saw that Chuy's opened an Atlanta location, I was ecstatic. My parents made it in before I did and said the food was great... But my Dad ended up with violent food poisoning. A month or so later, I made my first visit (warily) to the Atlanta location with some friends. I assumed the food poisoning incident with my Dad was a fluke and likely wouldn't happen again. Wrong. My two friends were sick with food poisoning a few hours after leaving Chuy's. As devastating as it is to say, I will be not be returning to this location and nor will I be recommending this location to a friend. read more

Food was average, service was pretty good... The issue manifested after I moved my feet around once we were sat at the booth (I had on a pair of Jordan 1's, fresh out of the box btw lol) - there was food, paper, plastic, a fork, and even the plastic receipt holder under the table... It was legitimately disgusting. Asked the waitress to send the manager, she came over in a timely manner, apologized and asked us if we wanted desert. We were full from dinner and we really didn't want to wait any longer for desert, even if we got it to go. Money wasn't the issue, the bill was only pushing $30, however, for how disgusting it was, even 10 or 15% discount would have been feasible for me. Could have even taken off the price of the desert that she offered. I think the best way to handle it would have been to provide us with a gift card so that we're encouraged to return. We paid, we left. Obviously we tipped the waitress a bit over 20% because we assumed it wasn't really her fault. There was another waitress who even commented (as she was sweeping another area, "Wow, do you want me to get under there? That looks really disgusting." ... Then she left the pile in the middle of the floor and we counted 3 people that stepped in it while being seated - fact is, it was nasty, and, in my opinion, the situation wasn't handled as well as it could have been by management... I heard about this "legendary" creamy jalapeno sauce which was a pleasant surprise served complimentary alongside the salsa but not legendary. Bad experience with waiter. I watched him walk around the entire restaurant holding our food in his arms. Talking over our food. Using the computer/register over our food. Stopping by other tables with our food. Then finally, brought our food to the table and had the nerve to be confused when I asked him about all of the activities done over our food!!! Went here for my birthday (cinco de mayo). While this is a very busy day, we were seated and not talked to for 20 minutes. On top of that, every single other table was talked to within 5 minutes of them sitting down and placed orders. We got no drinks, no chips, no salsa. When informed the hostess we were leaving because we ha not been talked to, her response was "oh I'm sorry". The drink "specials" we're over priced and not that good (the margarita was watered down and I have had better for half the price at many other restaurants). Will not be coming back. read more

You can expect to wait a long time between service, drinks and ordering here. The bar menu is minimal at best - a friend ordered ten different (and not abnormal) drinks and the waitress told him they didn't have a single one. Excellent place to kick back with friends and family!! The staff is familiar with the menu and are happy to tell you which dish they like the best. They also warn when the dishes might be "spicy" and offered milder versions. The food was excellent, I ate the steak burrito and was full after just eating half, no worries it reheats well. Went for my Birthday. Chips, salsa and the jalapeno ranch sauce were great! I got the beef tacos, and my husband got the burritos. The entrees were nothing super exciting or special. The tortillas were excellent! The service was great and he was very attentive. He even gave me a dessert. We would go back if we were on that side of town, but I would make a meal out of the dips that they have and not bother with an entree. read more

Silly people, this clearly isnt mexican. Its Tex-Mex, and its OKAY at best. Why should one go to chuy's? For great drinks, great chips and salsa and a good atmosphere. They have those things down and i will continue going to chuy's for this, and only this. I often find my experience with ordering anything else to be disappointing. Since it is tex Mex, and we are all gluttons, you can smother anything you get with some sort of sauce or cheese, sadly none of them are quite extraordinary. Ive smothered everything in cheesy jalapeno sauce without being able to taste the darn jalapenos. In the end, nothings really that spicy and nothings really that great. On the other hand service is always decent and the food is always satisfying.
