Updated review pertains to the 'to go' process. There are 4 designated and numbered parking spots right outside the front entrance to the restaurant. I wanted to pick up some queso and chips/ salsa to go, so no need to look at a menu. The phone number is posted right on the signs, so you just pull in, call em up, give them your parking space number, place your order and your food is brought out to your vehicle in just a few minutes avoiding the usual bar crush during HH. I'm a fan! read more

Good size portions at a decent price. They do try to make it up with drink prices. The service was good. Noticed that the staff was very diverse, which is rare to see in Atlanta. Definitely will return read more

Hmmm not sure if I caught this place on an off night, but whoa. Up to four employees hanging out at the host stand, tables sitting empty while parties waited for seats, messed up orders...thank goodness the food was decent. I came in yesterday with two friends after a long day of shopping. I had the Chuy Special, a plate consisting of chicken enchiladas made with blue corn tortillas, Mexican rice, and refried beans. I was pleasantly surprised, as I did not have much in the way of expectations for the food. The salsa actually had some kick to it. But the queso kind of sucked. Our server, while friendly, was a bit of a space case. Friend #3 ordered the Vegetarian Combo but got something completely different. She sent it back and eventually got her correct order, and our server ~graciously~ "comped the other one." Uhhhh you mean the one she didn't order?? As we finished up, we saw a party get seated nearby only to be approached by a different employee a couple of minutes later and told that they'd been seated at the wrong table. They had to pick up their drinks and appetizer and follow dude to whatever table was meant for them. Not cool. Eh, I wouldn't be opposed to giving the place another shot. Maybe it really was an off day. read more

I've been here a few times, and have been overall satisfied, but wouldn't ever eat here if I didn't shop at nearby Perimeter Mall. SETTING: The decor is similar to most texmex places across America, but they have a bit of an art-retro theme that's actually pretty well executed. The booths are upholstered to make you feel like you're in a 50s diner, one room has hub caps covering the ceiling, and the walls are busy with modern renderings of historic paintings. Pretty cool as far as family dining restaurants go. SERVICE: It's kind of whatever. Usually not that fast and can be unprofessional at times, depending on who you get. The inconsistency is more than likely an artifact of poor training. FOOD: Standard Texmex, but pretty good. Salsa at the beginning is more on the pico de gallo side, with a good bit of spice. The enchilada sauce is pretty good too. I would say it's high side of average, but nothing awe inspiring. read more

Tex Mex can be so much better than this.... Here's the good and bad: Good - Free chips & salsa. Chips are nice and thin and crispy. Salsa was actually alright, and the creamy jalapeno is pretty darn good (tastes a little like ranch dressing with a little bit of jalapenos thrown in it). Food portions were pretty darn big. And we had a great waitress that made sure the chips were always refilled and drinks were always coming. Not so good - We ordered fajitas, and these should come out SIZZLING hot and smelling amazing. Instead, it came out lukewarm. The homemade flour tortillas that I normally LOVE were only so-so --- not warm (aka not freshly made), and not entirely cooked through. Chile con queso wasn't particularly good either. For the Chuy's brand name (hailing from Austin, TX), I expected GREAT Tex-Mex, and at the very least, I was hoping for the addicting homemade flour tortillas that I get in Austin. Unfortunately, this Chuy's just didn't make the mark. read more

As a Texan I rate Chuy's the best Mexican restaurant in Atlanta for 5 main reasons. 1. Fresh salsa from freshly chopped tomatoes. Not from freshly opened cans like so many places in Georgia. 2. Thin & crispy chips like they are supposed to be. 3. Homemade flour tortillas. 4. Real beef fajitas not the Mexican stir-fry most places serve. 5. The addictive jalapeno ranch dip to accompany the salsa. read more

Love how big the nacho serving is here. Also love there white sauce. Have no idea the name. It's peppery. Overall this is a pretty good chain spot read more

Fajitas for two is excellent. Both the steak and chicken are seasoned and cooked to perfection. They don't give you quite enough grilled onions and peppers, but the quality of the meat makes up for that shortcoming. Hatch green chili and creamy jalapeno sauces are awesome on the fajitas. read more

We have been few times to this location, even recommended to some of our friends. This is the first time we are disappointed and regretted. I am pregnant and craving some Mexican food, the other side my husband was off work too on Halloween night. So I suggested going to Chuy's because they also have the taco bar from 4 pm to 7 pm. First we arrived, there were several tables left dirty, glasses and dirty plates scattered around, they were not even busy that night. They were slow. Not a good impression. Then we sat and our server greeted us. We ordered the food. I went to the taco bar, that made me surprised and disappointed seeing everything was empty (see the picture below). It was still 6.15 pm. So I talked to our server about it and he said he would order to the kitchen for refill. We have been waiting for 30 mins, nothing happened. Other server just refilled the queso (melted cheese). We complained to our server. He said it was probably slow so the kitchen didn't refill it and almost closing time for the taco bar. I replied back we sat at 6.15, so there was still 45 mins before closing time. Then our server agreed to bring us some. But we didn't want to eat them, we were afraid of our server was spitting to the food. Even their manager stopped over our table. But it didn't change anything, we were still disappointed with our visit this time. read more

I went to Chuy's with my husband for lunch. There was nothing we had that was unbelievably delicious. I wish I liked it more.

Loved it! Great atmosphere! Loved the Thursday special and hubs had steak burrito! Def going back!

Ok food for standard chain Mexican fare, but good grief, the rest is ridiculous. I sat at the bar for dinner and the best service I received from the mostly absent bar tender was, "its happy hour so help yourself to the chips and salsa in the trunk of that car behind you." I kid you not. There is a trunk of a car they have attached to a wall in the bar, which serves as a chips and salsa buffet. How does this even pass health standards in cold and flu season. Service was completely absent. The bar tender was available maybe 25% of the time I was at the bar attempting to order and eat. My margarita with salt was made in about 15 second with about 5 grains of salt on the rim, clearly no one cares here. Who owns this place? Why do you let it be seriously below average? What is with the Elvis theme? I am from Memphis and this is an insult to Elvis. I knew I would regret dining at a Mexican chain, and boy did I ever. read more

Service from Donnie was great! Taco salad was big and delicious. The chicka chicka boom boom was awesome. Also had the chili con queso which had a bite but never turned into a brick of hard cheese. Overall, was a great experience and would come back. read more

Chuy's - Mexican Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

The food is pretty decent. You get tortilla chips and salsa, and the chips are the thin/crispy kind. I got the Chuychanga with creamy jalapeno sauce. Not bad! Unfortunately, the service is lacking and kills the rating. Service was slow despite the restaurant not being busy, and our server was awkward and largely unavailable. read more

I was really disappointed with this place. This may be me, but my biggest pet peeve is when a restaurant is more concerned with the comfort of the staff than the guest. It was cold outside, but the temperature inside should not match that of the outside! It is very uncomfortable trying to eat your dinner with a winter jacket on because they are too cheap to turn on the heat. It was not only our table, but each of the four other tables had jackets and scarves still on while eating. Pay attention. Besides our unepected visit to Antartica, the food was very disappointing. We had ordered the queso, and it was burnt. You could actually see the burnt queso floating at the top of the dip. Each dish was flavorless. The sauce described as spicy by our server was left off two dishes. We did not request to have sauce left off; she just said people thought they were too spicy. Annoying. Too many great options to give another try. read more

Since I have moved over this way, it is safe to say I am considered a regular here. 9 times out of 10 I've had amazing service at Chuy's (and majority of the time I'm sitting outside, which tends to be forgotten about at quite a fee establishments). Killer atmosphere, $5 margaritas all day every day, yummy food combinations... really can't beat it. read more

Tonight I went to eat a Chuy's, and this time I ate at the restaurant. It really is a great place and as I was hoping, the food was awesome and the Hatch Green Chile Sauce was not like What I previously had, this one was delicious. I'm very glad I gave this restaurant another try. I had the steak burrito again, my girlfriend tried the Panchos and we had a delicious tres leches dessert. Whatever happened with my DoorDash order on my first time eating from Chuy's, is not something I think I'll have to worry about again. I'll recommend to friends and family as we had a great time and the food was delicious. read more

Let me start with yes, I do understand it was a holiday and they would be busy. I placed an online order and did the check in when I arrived. I appeared to be the only car waiting in the curbside for an order, although they were packed so I anticipated it would be a little late on delivery for curbside. I saw several people come out with to go orders but had gotten no other updates other than, a text saying they were working on my order. I waited for 20 mins after my pick up time and then called. The person that picked up acted irritated when I said, I just wanted to check in on my order since it was 20 mins after the pick up time. I was not a jerk about it and did not have an attitude. Please note, I had a conference call to be on and needed to get back to my office in the next 10 mins so I needed an update. They came back and said it would be out shortly. It was brought to me 25 mins after the pickup time that was given on my order. But hey I got the food so all was good, and headed back (and yes I did include a tip prior to placing the order). It took me 5 min to get back to my office and guess what the food is cold..... so I can only assume the food was waiting at the front and they forgot or had no one to bring it out. Just a disappointing experience which left me with cold food and less than 5 mins to eat before my calls. read more

Mgr. Justin, knows how to turn an unhappy customer into a repeat customer. On my lunch hour we were seated outside with one other table. We sat for about 10 minutes without a greeting, water, chips/salsa. Then was told that our initial waiter did not want to assist us. The waiter who stepped in was fairly new and made a mistake on the order and since I had allergies I needed to send it back. Although I was not pleased of my experience the manager made sure we would return by taking care of our meals and correcting my initial order. The best thing he did was took ownership of is staffs errors and provided a resolution, couldn't really be upset anymore and left with a smile. Thanks Justin for taking care of us! Shellie read more

I ordered the Tacos Al Carbon but there was very little chicken in the tacos-most of my bites were of just the flour tortilla. Just little pieces of chicken were inside and hardly any onions. Dinner was disappointing. read more

Loved having drinks and dinner in their outdoor patio...until tonight. Our bill was paid and we were sitting outside along with parties at other tables enjoying the evening when a member of the staff walked out and told (not asked) us all to leave. He assumed that we were being deliberately rude and intentionally keeping them past closing, but no one ever told us what time it was or what time they were closing (it was 8:40 pm). I apologize to the staff for keeping them late and also can assure you that I won't be back. read more

Let me tell you why I love this place... the food is not always perfect and the ranch sauce on the fried fish tacos is in fact spicy regardless of what my waitress said... but the amount of heart the staff at this Chuy's has makes up for anything else that might be lacking. There was a situation today with a dude being creepy with his phone in the bar area and it was immediately handled no fuss. The assistant manager that came to talk to my friend and I while the GM handled the creeper was a total doll and seriously one of the nicest people I've ever encountered in the food service industry. Every single time I eat here the humor and attitudes of the staff make it a great time. I also am a huge fan of the mango margaritas, seriously the only place I've had a mango Rita that didn't taste like cough syrup. read more

Been here a couple of times now and I really like it. I think this has to do with how absolutely kitschy it is. I love their drinks! I usually get whatever is a special at the time. Last time we had just missed out on happy hour but our server gave us the price anyway, which was really cool! That would also be the current drink, a passionfruit sangria. It's a frozen drink, and usually I am not a fan of them, but I really liked this. Their green chile related items are awesome right now. I think it's almost over if not so that's sad. The beef flautas I had from the green chile menu were awesome. I could have kept eating more plates of them. The enchiladas are great too. My favorite is the Southwestern. I'm not even a fan of fried eggs and I love this dish. You really can't go wrong here, just as long as you realize it's Tex-Mex food. Never had a problem with service other than it took asking for silverware to get it one time. Our food has always come out super fast. Try sitting in the bar area, it's a lot less overwhelming than the regular dining area. There are plenty of tables there too, not just a bar, plus it has plenty of windows so it's bright. read more

Someone yelped about these guys and gave them two stars for the decorations, because "the food was horrible". I totally agree! They start your meal, like most Tex Mex places, with chips and dip which was the best part of my lunch. I ordered the Tuesday special which was a fried avocado with chicken and melted cheese stuffed inside and it comes with a side of rice and re-fried beans. Oh, it was just bad. The batter surrounding the avocado was too heavy, the overall spices of everything on the plate seemed to conflict with one another, and it was just plain ole bad. I had a few bites and couldn't finish my meal. I also sampled the vegetarian dish ordered by one of my coworkers and it was bad too. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon! read more

Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great price - what's not to love, or even give 5 stars for?!?! Maybe I liked Chuy's so much because it's literally right across from my office building, and because I walked there today soaking up some much-needed vitamin D from the sunshine, arriving in a very bubbly mood... nah, it's everything I mentioned first! I met the bestie here for lunch and had the Chuychanga - freakin' amazing...seriously. For $8.99 I had a chimi the size of a huge burrito, rice and beans. And the deluxe tomatillo sauce, fuhgettaboutit!!! Delish. Can't wait to get back to Chuy's for happy hour and drinks - look out ATL! It's on like Donkey Kong! read more

I'm a fan! Been here twice - had great service and good food both times. First time I opted for some kind of chicken enchiladas with my favorite verde sauce. It was good. Second time I had the vegetarian enchiladas minus spicy peppers and it was delicious! Loved it even more than the chicken. I swapped the ranchero sauce for the verde and it was tasty. I love their refried beans...I would just go there for the beans! The chips are good and I love the salsa - I think its pretty much just a pica de gallo. I could live off that stuff! The decor is also really fun. The first time I went I was with my 6 year old nephew and he had so much fun looking at everything. Definitely a kid friendly place. read more

Chuy's - Tortilla soup - Mexican Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

Awful awful awful service courtesy of Whit. She maybe visited our table 3 times and each time there was at least 20-25 min where we never saw her. At the end, we waited 30 min to see her again before finally tracking her down to get our check. I had to ask another waitress twice, yes twice, to find her so we could leave. In addition, she was completely unfriendly and 100% unapologetic. So long, Whit.... it's been real... really slow and really mediocre. Come on, management... take control of your restaurant. You can hire better people. I know you can. PS - the food was really good, but it almost didn't matter. read more

My boyfriend and I like to take our friends from out of town here. We took a New Yorker here who fell in love with the tacos, not realizing he could get a lot of yummy food for $8. I'm a personal fan of the tortilla soup and the creamy jalapeno dip. In fact, if I could have the tortilla soup every day in winter, I'd be happy. This particular location's got nothing on the original Chuy's in Austin, but it's not bad. read more

Came for lunch on a Saturday. They were busy, but not that crowded. Waited over 25 minutes for our food. Felt like I was dying of old age. Okay Chuy's, it's Mexican / tex-mex. it's basically assembly. Every other Mexican place serves fast. You're just slow. No need to grow cobwebs waiting for Mexican. read more

This place used to be a go-to for our work lunch outings, but the quality of the food has diminished over the past couple years. There are so many other choices in the area, so we haven't been here in a while. I've eaten at Chuy's many times in Texas and was really happy to see them open in Atlanta, especially so close to my place in Sandy Springs. They work hard on making the atmosphere pleasant and the service when we went was outstanding (I wish I had written our server's name down, she was outstanding). The food is better-than-average Tex-Mex, but is much better than most of the other places I've been in Atlanta. Get in there, get a margarita, chow down on some queso and enjoy some good Tex-Mex. read more
