The sauce had just enough numbing warmth without overpowering the dish, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. The texture combination of silky wrappers and bold sauce made it an unforgettable starter. Beyond the appetizer, the restaurant offered a warm atmosphere and attentive service that made the dining experience even better. The presentation was thoughtful, portions were generous, and the flavors tasted authentic and carefully prepared. If you enjoy dishes with a little spice and a lot of flavor, the wontons in chili oil are absolutely worth ordering. I would definitely come back just for them.

The standout for me was the Jiang Bei Hot Sauce Live Whole Fish, which was packed with flavor and absolutely worth ordering. You can split this dish amongst a whole family since the portions are huge! The General Tso's Chicken is always a classic, and I love the tender chicken drenched in tangy sauce. This is where things got a little tricky. We had a reservation but ended up waiting about 40 minutes past our reservation time to actually be seated. On a busy weekend, I understand restaurants can get slammed, but waiting 40 minutes after having a reservation is frustrating. It seems like their weekend reservation situation can get a little chaotic, so just be prepared to practice your patience. Once we were seated, the staff was fine and the service was efficient. Overall, I'll return for the food or get takeout but just be prepared to wait a bit.

Both the dim sum menu and a lunch menu with standard Chinese restaurant fare were available. My party got the general tso's chicken from the lunch menu, and it was exceptional. Good-quality white meat with just enough spice. Heads up, though, the lunch dishes don't come with rice, so order that separately. From the dim sum menu, we ordered braised tripe with ginger & scallion, fried shrimp rolls, shrimp dumplings, steamed chicken buns, and crab meat soup dumplings. The braised tripe was a standout. It was cooked in a light yet flavorful sauce of ginger and scallion with the tripe's own broth. The delicateness of the sauce worked perfectly with the tripe. The dumplings were all great, especially the soup dumplings. The steamed chicken bun was the only thing I'd skip. It was on the heavier side, and the filling was just okay. The bill came out to about what I expected for the amount of food we ordered--$65 before tip. The service was friendly, and taking our order and getting the food was quick. After the food arrived, though, it was a little difficult to flag down a server to order more and later to get the check. Still, it was understandable given how busy they were, constantly collecting orders and putting out food. They charge $4 for rice and then grudgingly package it with leftovers. Entire restaurant had open tables but they stuck us against the servers alley that leads to kitchen. We had the staff behind us at a large table chattering away loudly while we tried to eat and talk. It was a mess. My husband paid the server in cash. They attempted to keep our change. I had to repeat myself multiple times asking for our change to come back. It almost seemed deliberate. So unprofessional. And yet my kind husband tipped the waitstaff generously; he's far kinder than I would have been. Not a class act restaurant. Will NEVER go back. REGRET that we chose this restaurant on our day out. =(

We were the only ones in the entire dining by room so both dishes arrived in about 10 minutes. The fried rice hit the spot. I look for the darker color rice rather than the oily fried white or yellow rice we have found at a lot of places. The Kung Pao was definitely double salted. I flagged the staff down and stated it seemed the kung pao was double salted but was told no it wasnt. I said no really its overly salty and he said thats the way kung pao comes. My wife stated it was inedible due to the amount of salt and that the rice was lovely. He took the plate and walked off. No apologies, no indication if they would recook it for us or offer of any other options. He simply disappeared into the kitchen for a while. I stood at the register to simply pay so we could leave. When he finally came to ring us up he did not charge us for the food we didn't eat which was fair. I just wish service was a bit better as we left still hungry and picked up a slice of pizza on the way home. Really odd and unfortunate experience- as the rice was good and had it not been for the salt, the kung pao had promise- though it lacked the peppers and peanuts I have been accustomed to.
