We ordered the soup dumplings which was on special for $1.00 a dumpling and a fantastic value. We also ordered pork and chive dumplings, pork dumplings in chicken broth and chicken leg noodle soup which was fantastic, boneless chicken so flavorful, Loaded with noodles and bok choy, half an egg, broth was fantastic too. Everyone commented how nothing was salty and that was a great thing. Dumplings were made fresh, dough was nice and tender, we even took some to go for a friend who couldn't make it. Highly recommend this place and we will be back!

The quality of the food is fine. The people working here are also friendly and quick. Sometimes when they get pretty busy with lots of other customers though, it's better to just ask them yourself about what you want (like water refills or other requests), rather than waiting for them to come straight to you. This restaurant also is pretty big. It has lots of seating inside.

We got the Saucy Ribs and the Moo Daeng Moo Krob (BBQ Pork) and both were incredible. The ribs were tender and packed with flavor, while the BBQ pork and crispy pork belly combo with the egg and rice was seriously just so good. We also ordered the calamari and it was EXTRA crispy with the perfect sweet-and-sour sauce. May I dare say it may be the best calamari in Somerville. The atmosphere is always such a good vibe and the servers are so nice.

Khao Soi serves with rice noodle instead of egg noodle. Curry is good. Shrimp pad thai is on the sour side more than sweet. Not bad. Duck noodle is ok. Doesn't have much of the herbal flavor but is more of the clear noodle soup. Pork noodle is also ok. A bit weird with the lettuce in it. Chicken satay is good. The meat is not too dry and not burnt. All in all - the portions are ginormous!! And would visit again.

Both the dim sum menu and a lunch menu with standard Chinese restaurant fare were available. My party got the general tso's chicken from the lunch menu, and it was exceptional. Good-quality white meat with just enough spice. Heads up, though, the lunch dishes don't come with rice, so order that separately. From the dim sum menu, we ordered braised tripe with ginger & scallion, fried shrimp rolls, shrimp dumplings, steamed chicken buns, and crab meat soup dumplings. The braised tripe was a standout. It was cooked in a light yet flavorful sauce of ginger and scallion with the tripe's own broth. The delicateness of the sauce worked perfectly with the tripe. The dumplings were all great, especially the soup dumplings. The steamed chicken bun was the only thing I'd skip. It was on the heavier side, and the filling was just okay. The bill came out to about what I expected for the amount of food we ordered--$65 before tip. The service was friendly, and taking our order and getting the food was quick. After the food arrived, though, it was a little difficult to flag down a server to order more and later to get the check. Still, it was understandable given how busy they were, constantly collecting orders and putting out food. Overall, Canton Palace is a great find for anyone looking for this style of Chinese food outside of the usual New York neighborhoods.

As someone who cooks I was extremely disappointed. I should have sent back but they didn't seem to have any interest in our experience & there was a language barrier. They charge $4 for rice and then grudgingly package it with leftovers. Entire restaurant had open tables but they stuck us against the servers alley that leads to kitchen. We had the staff behind us at a large table chattering away loudly while we tried to eat and talk. It was a mess. My husband paid the server in cash. They attempted to keep our change. I had to repeat myself multiple times asking for our change to come back. It almost seemed deliberate. So unprofessional. And yet my kind husband tipped the waitstaff generously; he's far kinder than I would have been. Not a class act restaurant. Will NEVER go back. REGRET that we chose this restaurant on our day out. =(
