Sides, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac n cheese

First time coming here. Went through the drive-thru. Service was nice. Food was packaged quickly, but unfortunately the food. Was a bit disappointing. The chicken was extremely crispy but lacked flavor. The biscuits were okay. The mashed potatoes were good but the mac n cheese was not. I probably wont go back. I prefer all the other types of fried chicken in the area. This was just mediocre.

I've never eaten at a Church's Chicken so I didn't know what to expect. I ended up getting four of their special meals which came with either tenders or two pieces of chicken two sides and a biscuit. As far as price go it certainly measures up to or Beats other chicken places. I had the tenders, and they were delicious! A good piece of meat nicely breaded, fresh and hot! The biscuit was delicious I wish I had about a dozen more. The coleslaw was good, not a ton of sauce on it but it was still good. The only flaw I could see was that we didn't get any sauce with our meal. We did get silverware, but no dipping sauce or anything like that. Quite honestly I probably wouldn't have used it as the tenders stood alone.. but I was expecting them. I'm not sure if there was supposed to be butter or something to put on the biscuit, but it wasn't needed. I ordered in the app, for pickup. At 6:00 on a Saturday night. When I got there the food was ready and nice and hot. If all visits are like this, I'll certainly be back

Supposed to be 3PC Chicken but received 2PC Chicken instead. Subbed out mashed potato's for French fries and a biscuit.

Decided to go to Church's for lunch after passing by it for a while. Arrived approximately 10:30am no one in line. I was hoping for good food & a good experience after reading the reviews. I placed an order for a #2 (3 piece chicken, fries and a biscuit) upgraded to a large fries and drink. The drink (Diet Coke) was really sweet and didn't taste good, I opened the food at home and only had 2 pieces of chicken. Crispy skin but no flavor. The fries were cooked perfectly and crunchy. Biscuit was good wish there was butter or honey to put on top. Service was awesome, Maria was friendly at the drive through window. I order not spicy and asked her if I could buy a spicy tender just to see how hot. She gave me one free. Which was nice. That spicy tender was flavorful and not too spicy. Overall the food was not good, no flavor, order was wrong. I can see why no one was in line. I will not be back.

As far as fast food goes, this place is right up there with Popeyes. Churches Texas fried chicken is new to Modesto, but have it in Stockton and the Bay area around here. I really enjoyed the fried chicken. The wraps were good, just a little small, in my opinion. The mash potatoes I would compare to KFC. My only grippe would be that they serve the mash potatoes and gravy in the same container. So, if you are sharing, the first person can end up taking all the gravy. The coleslaw was a nice surprise. I usually only like KFC coleslaw. Churches Coleslaw is a strong second, which is a good thing because I don't even want to eat Popeyes coleslaw for free, haha. The fried okra I got for my dad, he didn't care for it. I loved the honey glazed biscuits. Pro tip: the apple pies are a better deal getting a 4 pack. And your going to want 4 haha. I could have ate a dozen of them. I can't see a time I don't order the pies when I go. Glad to have another good fried chicken place in town. Look forward to trying the spicy rice next time and other sides I didn't try yet.

This place just opened up on 08/24/2024, where BurgerKing used to be. Same building on Standiford and Prescott. I recommend waiting a few weeks to allow for the newness and crowds to die down. If you do go, pack your patience and wallet because they are not fast and not cheap. They offer the standard fried chicken and sides fare that Popeyes and KFC offer. I ordered (2) 2pc spicy combos, which include small sides biscuits and a drink. I also made substitution for breasts only in the two-piece combos. The breasts were GINORMOUS, at least Double D's. I also ordered 3pc chicken strip combo original recipe, and 6 extra honey biscuits. Order came to $60 and change. All-in-all, it is like Popeyes with a little bit different flavor. I probably like Church's slightly better. Oh, and they did screw up my order, so I had to come back. I waited so long to get through the drive-thru and then had to pull to front and wait another twenty minutes because they were out of spicy, so I just wanted to get home. My bad for not checking order before leaving. I think they will be fine once they get the kinks worked out. My 3 stars is for the long ass drive-thru wait and the messing up the order. The food is your standard fare like I said, so really not something you rate. You either like it or you don't. Rating places like this is more about service and accuracy IMO. The staff were friendly though.

We had churches when it was on coffee rd (so long ago). So we were excited to try it! The restaurant itself is very minimalist. Very warm in the lobby. Bathroom was too bare. You have to ask for sauces/refills/utensils etc, which can be a hassle esp if it's busy. I still prefer Popeyes sandwich better. Although the okra and the bombers were delicious. The pie was the best thing probably. Mom did not like the coleslaw at all. It was good overall but probably won't be going back.

The young man at the counter was very polite and helpful. Thank you I really appreciate

Nope we got here before 830. Yelp said they were open till 11. Doors were shut . So we got in a huge line for takeout. After a half an hour we get to the window and the girl in the speaker said there was no tenders. Wait what!!! She said there is none defrosted. I said that yelp says they close at 11am and it's crazy that we waited over 30 minutes and they are out . Then the girl employee says if you want tenders GO TO CAINS!!!!!! Well that's our usual spot but unfortunately we decided to try Church's . Then we got up to window everyone had attitude and there was an older white tweaked lady talking shit and laughing about us . We got back and there was no Mac n cheese that we paid for! Not ok . Waste of time. Waste of money will not be coming back!!

For reference I used to love church's as a kid when it used to be on coffee road years ago. I love the church's in stockton, so I was hoping I'd love this one. Customer service wasn't so great, the guy working the drive through seemed rude. He waited a while before taking my payment and there was no one behind me. I got an 8pc family meal for about $35 after tax. My chicken smelled and tasted a little burnt with no flavor. The biscuits were okay, some were barely glazed; which is very disappointing because they're the main reason I'd choose church's over any other fried chicken place.

The food was pretty good. The place was empty and it took forever to get our food. It has an abandoned feeling cuz the space isn't really used. A lot of tables were dirty and so were the floors.

I will never ever ever eat here again. Just a complete horrible experience. If you want amazing chicken DO NOT PASS POPEYES. TY

The first time we came, it was just after this reel went semi-viral so there were a bunch of people lined up. Upon entering, the staff immediately let us know they were having issues with the kitchen and that they had no idea when it would be back up. We decided to leave and return another time. The second time, I made an online pre-order. I decided to get the meal deal for 4 (and a separate order of the blueberry biscuit fried chicken sandwich) for the most variety. This deal includes: - Chicken Option: 8 pc tenders, 16 pc wings, or 16 pc nuggets. I went with the 16 pc wings. They were heavily battered, and the wings were cooked through and still juicy. I wasn't too wowed by them though. - 2 Sides: I went with the honey mustard pasta salad and chipotle potato salad. The pasta salad was soggier than expected, but flavors of both were pretty good. Chipotle potato had a nice kick. - Loaded Wedges: This was literally a potato quartered into 4 wedges. Tastewise, I really liked the seasoning they used on the potato though. I didn't care for the loaded part (cheese, bacon bits, green onion). - Choice of 5 sauces: Personally, the best part of the meal. Their sauces are on point. I went with the strawberry heat, pineapple pepper, XXX, fuego, honey mustard (accident; I wished I had gotten the hot honey blueberry bbq instead). - 4 Can Drinks: Cool I guess, but wished the deal was focused on the food options. The separate blueberry biscuit with chicken was also only just OK. The biscuit wasn't fluffy or buttery and the blueberries were there visually only (barely any blueberry taste). The chicken was fine and not dry at least! The wait the second time around also wasn't bad. I scheduled a 12:15PM order, and I think I got my food about 15-20 min later. Overall, it was a good one-time try!

I was skeptical at first because I didn't smell any aroma outside lol. Ordering was really simple and they have a lot of dipping sauce options. I chose the lemon pepper, buttermilk and rodeo. Rodeo sauce was great. My son liked the Buttermilk I didn't get to try it. The Lemon Pepper was alright but it was mustard based so it mainly tasted like Yellow Mustard. Loaded wedges tasted great. Have to eat them fast because the cheese solidified quickly as it cools. The front counter associate was great with helping decipher on which sauces to order. Also pricing is very fair for the amount of food you get.
